"Me, nothing. I just came out here to pick on the kid. Its the most fun I have around here since no one will spar with me." He looked at her. "Hey, how about sparring with me. It will be like an initiation so I can see where you stand."

Shinju studied Kisuke for a moment. "I might not be much of a challenge for you. I tend not to fight. I don't want to hurt people." Shinju said, "But for only practice I don't suppose it'd hurt."

"All right then. Considering this is just a friendly spar, all you have to do is lay one finger on me. Use anything you like." He smiled cracking his knuckles.

All I have to do is lay a finger on him? That seems easy enough. But what I can tell of his confidence it won't be easy at all. Shinju thought to herself. "So be it." Shinju said and launched herself at Kisuke with unbelievable speed.

Kisuke laughed. "Impressive." He was suddenly behind her and whispered in her ear. "But not good enough to touch me."

Shinju smirked and swung around to strike Kisuke. But before Shinju touched Kisuke she stopped. Last time I touch a person he died. May be this isn't such a good idea. Shinju thought suddenly. "Kisuke-sama, before we continue can we talk about what you mean by touch. Must I actually touch you with a part of my body or just with anything?" Shinju asked quietly.

He sighed. "Anything, but before we continue, you have to put 100% into it or you will never touch me. Your fighting with a clouded mind, never hesitate."

Shinju frowned, she knew this was a bad idea. "I don't think I can do this. I am unable to concentration on this match. I'm sorry." Shinju whispered weakly. I can't do this. I'm too afraid of killing people with my curse. Shinju thought as she turned away from Kisuke. I have to get away from here. Shinju then began to walk away.

Kisuke sighed. "You have the curse don't you? Everyone around you seems to die don't they? Thats why you can't continue?"

Shinju froze. He knows about my curse. Shinju thought saddly, But he probably doesn't understand just how strong it is on me. "Everyone doesn't seem to die... They do. Any one I touch or even get to close to... dies." Shinju whispered weakly, "It doesn't matter how strong they are or how intelligent. They always meet the same fate if they befriend me or touch me." Shinju then shook her head to try to clear the tears forming in her eyes. My parents, their friends, even Hatori. No one is safe from my curse.

Kisuke smiled. "I was the same as you. My curse a heavy burden. Then I realized something. You want to know what it was?"

Shinju turned to look at Kisuke and tilted her head to the side in confussion. He bares a curse but his soul feels lighter then my own. What could he have found that makes this so? Shinju thought to herself. "Pray tell, what did you realize that freed you so?" Shinju asked.

He smiled. "That I just had to become stronger then the curse. Become stronger to protect those with whom the curse meant harm. I have traveled with Ryu for a few years now, yet he still lives despite the curse's best efforts."

"I want to become stronger!" Shinju said earnestly, "But the last person that tried to help me... die. Sure, Hatori survived the curse for almost two years... but that just made it hurt even more when he died." Shinju then looked down. Whay am I telling him this? I don't even know Kisuke-sama! Shinju thought, Am I really so eagar to have some one understand me?
