Tanyeera was silent on the journey back to the Seraphim as her gaze swept the crowds on alert for danger. She was supposed to be protecting this crew, damnit, and she'd let Rosette run off to get kidnapped. That, or any variant of it, would most definitely not happen again.
Many people were staring because of the odd way in which Tanyeera was moving, but she more-or-less ignored them unless they had a weapon on their person, in which case she gave a hard, unfriendly stare. It tended to work and they generally scurried off pretty quick.
When the Seraphim came in sight, Tanyeera still didn't drop her guard one iota till Rosette, Chronos and May were safely on board. Then she relaxed, marginally, and looked around for Luft to get an update on what had been happening while she'd been gone.

Ava approached the huge white ship in her fluid nonchalent way, face mild and stance relaxed though she could pull the longsword on her back in an instant and was wary of everyone who might have light fingers. Shrugging the weapon and the pack on her back into a more comfortable position she glanced around the crowd beneath the hood of her grey cloak. With one sharp whistle a small brown streak skittered nimbly along the warf and climbed up onto her shoulder, wrapping its long prehensial tail around her neck. the little creature had no trouble navigating her way over the silver armored plates that graced Ava's forearms, shins, abdoman and shoulders. Fyn chittered away in her ear, jumping up and down a little, excited with the smell of the sea and the bustle of the crowds. Smaller than Ava's head the little Kufka was mostly brown with patches of white and had a keen intelligence that shown through her large green eyes. Smiling slightly Ava approached the boarding plank of the huge ship and ascended quickly.
Before stepping onto the deck she called out, "Ship Captain, Patroness. Ava Elani asking permission to board." She had spoken to the patroness about her intentions to sail as a treasure hunter and act as a mercenary, for the right price, but she was unsure about her decision. Never having sailed she had tried to prepare accordingly. No matter what she had to get to the new lands far out at sea. She noticed the agitated people on deck and registered their presence, automatically marking their positions and identifying any visible weapons, but she did not pay them heed. She would not get involved with anyone or thing until she was settled in. Fyn raised herself into a sitting position, balanced on her haunches and steady with the support of her tail around Ava's neck, her bright eyes darting everywhere.

"Alrighty then..." Rosette said, paying little attention to the crowds bustling about near th ship as they went aboard. "I'm gonna go put the squirt to bed and then come back up to see what I've missed. Oh, by the way, Tanyeera, May."
Rosette, still hanging onto Chrono with one arm, extended the other towards te both of them.
"I'm pretty sure Chrono had quite a bit of help finding where that guy had me, so my thanks to the both of you. Ever need a bit of help in anything, you know I'm on call!"

"Ship Captain, Patroness. Ava Elani asking permission to board." Rhiannon heard the call from the bottom of the boarding plank. The voice was familiar, and as she looked up she also recognized the face. Amongst all the armor. She sighed and tried to settle herself down. Whatever had happened, she'd have to hear about it later. She had business with this Ava.
Throwing an apologetic look towards Nerissa and quitely excusing herself, Rhiannon squared her shoulders and took herself up the plank to meet the woman. She tried to swallow the bad taste in her mouth as she stood in front of the armor clad Merc, but it only served to give her a look of displeasure.
"Well, Ava Elani, Mercenary extraordinaire." she said in a voice dripping with disparagement. "I see that my father was successful in convincing you to accompany us. To be honest, I didn't think you'd take up the offer. Then again, Aeron Deleste is known for being a persuasive man."
Rhi eyed the small monkey-like creature that played pet to Ava. Her eyes were too bright, too shifty. But then again, what could a mere animal do? Surely it was not a malicious creature. Unlike her master, perhaps. Rhi knew that she had a very dim view of Ava, and that it probably wasn't very fair, but that thought was shoved to the bottom of the pile at the present moment.

Ava bit back a shallow laugh at the young womans glares and settled instead with a small, slightly lopsided grin; a mere quirk of her lips. Lowering her hood she glanced the woman up and down, assesing her aggressive stance. Tipping her torso ever so slightly forward in a short bow she inclined her head a fraction of an inch and replied, "Patroness Rhiannon. Your father sends his greetings." Knowing that any mention of her connection to Aeron would itch the woman like a fire rash she resumed her straight posture and sweeped her eyes along the ship once again. Fyn chittered in her ear in a display of confusion, understanding that tension existed between the two women, but quieted with one small "shh". Rhiannon did not know the half of who or what she was and Ava detatchedly decided that that was for the best. She did not think the woman could handle the many truths of her interesting career. Her gaze paused breifly on each of the people onboard and awaiting to board, arousing a slight annoyance at the Patroness' exclamation of her position as a respected and accomplished Mercenary. It would assure she would not be trifled with but it also would raise walls around everyone she came near.
Shifting her smooth gaze back to meet the scowling womans eyes she reached into one of her pockets and pulled out what was little more than a slip of paper. "I have been persuaded," she raised her eyebrows slightly, "Only half way." Handing over the paper that held the remaining sum of her fee, redeemable only on her arrival to the ship, and baring the formidable signature of the girls father, she placed her fist over her heart and her other hand on the hilt of her sword. With complete formailty she swore, "I, Ava Elani, do so swear to carry out the buisness of the Patrons Lord and Lady Deleste to the full of my ability. On my oath, honor, and Heart of the Steel, I do so swear." Finnished, she placed a slim silver ring above one just like it on the first forefinger of her right hand.

"T'was my duty, Lady Mage." Just then, she caught sight of the Patroness speaking to an armored human woman and her brow raised. Was there to be another addition to the crew? It seemed so. The dragon wondered if she too would be a guard, it was hard to imagine what other role she might play considering all that armor. If so, that would be a great relief to Tanyeera. She could guard the other humans aboard the ship and even go into human-populated towns, like this one, with them. This way, maybe they could avoid a repeat of what had happened with Rosette.

((Destinykeeper is my old account. This is my new account.))
Lila had taken a nap and missed all the action. When she awoke, she found that most of the crew's more....eccentric... crowd was missing. But then she caught sight of them all, including the head mage coming back to the Seraphim and she was less worried. The patronness of the ship was speaking to a heavily armoured person.
"Wow, that person's armour seems like it would weigh a lot, though judging by her appearance, it doesn't look it." Lila wondered.
((I changed it))

((Sorry to ooc, but in all actuality I did not mean my armor to be that 'big' of a deal sweatdrop . I wanted it more to be concieved as light weight silver plates that act as shinguards, forearm gaurds, shoulder guards and, humor me, imgaine a corsett with silver plates across the abdoman and back. Sorry to be picky, but I really want to stress the point that Ava is all about free movement and dexterity. Thanks thanks!))

((Gotcha =]))
The woman was more civil than Rhiannon would have expected, and much more polite than herself. This made the patroness suddenly uncomfortable, and a little ashamed. Of course she didn't want to show this, so she channeled it into a bad attitude, which didn't help the situation. She took the piece of paper bearing her father's unmistakable signature and the square signet of the Harbormaster. She looked it over briefly before folding it neatly and shoving it into one of her coat pockets. The sum was probably considered incredibly high, naturally, and even more so when one noted that it was merely half the entire fee. This didn't bother her much, as money had never been a concern, but she loathed the idea of paying this smooth talking Merc even a cent. Still, it was her father's wish, and she had to honor it.
"Your oath is recognized, and you will be held to every word." she replied in as professional a tone as she could muster. "As to the rest of your fee, I will take care of it later. We must set sail immediately, we are already behind."
She cast one last disdainful sneer in the Merc's direction and turned away. She wasn't in the mood to be polite or long-winded, and they really had to go. She motioned to Veridus, a devout deckhand, and pulled him to the side.
"Veridus, you would know better than others... how many will not return to the ship? How far will superstition go?" Rhi asked him, her voice serious.
"Milady, is hard to say." Veridus replied and rubbed his chin in discomfort. "Many calmed right down, as they has met spooks before on the sea. But... to have met such on the first day, well, I be reckoning that we lose mayhap twenty men? Give or take."
Rhi breathed out a long sigh. Twenty? Well, not much could be done. No unauthorized crew were allowed to board without the Emperor's approval, and they simply did not have time to wait. She nodded in defeat. They were recieving quite a few new crew members, so hopefully they would make up for the loss. All in all, they would be fine.
"Alright, Veridus, I believe it is time we leave this troublesome Port." she motioned towards the big brass bell hanging mid-deck. "Please ring the bell, call everyone back. Everything has been loaded? All extra foodstuffs?"
"Aye, Patroness." Veridus bowed respectfully and hustled to the bell, starting it ringing ten times - the signal for preparation of set sail. The clear, commanding tone cut through the noise of the port, and many heads turned to look. The Seraphim was calling her crew.

[I'm assuming I can post?]
Cain silently approached the great ship before him. "The Seraphim. The epitaph of our technology, to date. Interesting." Cain said aloud. Anyone in the near area would have probably looked at him weird. He didn't usually talk to himself like that. But how could he help it? The Seraphim was right before him. Cain had sailed on many ships in his day (Even though he is still young) yet this one seemed the most enchanting. The many sails this ship had was amazing. It would be an honour for Cain to board such a majestic ship.
Cain boarded the ship without permission, simply in amaze at it's beauty. He walked along the side of the ship, his hand sliding against the rail on the edge. He was still amazed at it. When he got a letter asking him to be part of it's crew, to be honest, Cain was skeptical. He never had imagined that such a ship would have been awaiting him. It was amazing.
By now Cain had made his way to the front of the ship. If anyone saw him, he'd probably look like a pirate of some sort. The Elf didn't exactly look like a sailor or a warrior. Just a pirate or commoner. That thought had not once come to his mind though. He was too enchanted to care.
A slight ring hit Cain's ears. It was a bell. No, to a normal bell either. It was a bell used on ship. Cain was still enchanted by it. "Even the bell is magnificent..." Cain thought to himself, being lost in wonder.

"Hm, you look new." Rosette said as she stepped on deck and was immeditaely greeted by the sight of Cain. Chrono was sleeping peacefully now, a damp rag pressed against the cut on his head. Rosette's was no more than a small scab now.
"Anyone else who's been on here for more than a day usually desn't look so impressed." She took notice of his pointed ears and smiled widely."Ah, an Elf, I see! Don't think we have a lot of those on this ship. Name's Rosette. Rosette Delias, and you are...?"

Skye looked down to see the group getting back with the ship's mage who'd been kidnapped. She left her perch high above the deck and climbed down nimbly, landing on the deck with barely a sound. She noticed a young man boarding the ship, she didn't remember seeing him before on the ship. She figured she'd keep an eye on him, just to make sure he didn't get in trouble. Walking over, she grinned, "Hey there, haven't seen you on the ship before, are you joining the crew? The name's Skye, I'm one of the deckhands, most of my time's spent up on the masts so if you have any questions about them or the sails I'll do what I can to answer them." she said cheerfully, offering her hand to shake.

[o_O I dun know how you knew my character was an Elf. surprised ]
Cain's little dream world came to a burst when someone started talking to him. In fact, there were two people talking to him, at once! Wow, and he hadn't even noticed them approach him. Shows how much this ship really entranced him. It was the first time a vessel had actually done that to him. Of course he's been amazed at some ships, but none of actually made him completely loose his focus.
Back to those two people. Who were they? Dang, if only Cain was paying attention to them when they were talking. Luckily, however, he had caught the last few words of the two. And one of their hands was extended to him, in such a way as to shake. These two meant no harm; it wouldn't do any harm to speak with them either.
"Cain. Cain Crest." he said to Rosette first, and then turned to shake hands with Skye. They were both woman, and good looking one's at that! "Beautiful women to be crew on a beautiful ship. How appropriate." Cain accidentally said. It took him a few seconds to realise what he said. "I... I mean... Uhh... Those sails! Yes, they're amazing. So many on one ship. And whiter than the palest moon. As is the hull. A pure ship, indeed."
Cain forgot to even answer their questions about if he was a new crew member or not.

(Well, if his ears are kind of showing, we could say that. They are pointed, aren't they? Or we can just chalk that up as her weird "sixth sense" or somehting.)
"Well, Cain..." Rosette said, giving him an odd look in response to his flirtatious comment. "It looks like Skye fancies you enough to give you a tour, I'm afraid I'll have to be off."
Rosette turned to walk away, an idle hand rubbing her sore forehead a little as she looked for either the Captain or the Patroness. If Chrono had come with help to find her it was doubtful that he'd kept the fact she was missing a secret.
