Chloe landed in Fortree, recalling the Swablu who had carried her there. Smiling faintly, she looked around the town. It was a quiet place, she noted, and definitely close to nature. She liked the houses, and, although she found out later it was quite tedious climbing up all those ladders, it was an interesting place to visit.

Hey Chloe. Thought you might want to know i am coming back to hoenn soon. And It's my birthday tommorow. Don't get me any presents, especially if they come from a Delibird. Alice is doing great but i am going to have to challenge Brawly as soon as i come to hoenn. After that we can go to Lavaridge for me to chalenge Flanery. . and i can introduce you to my mother. Chloe flipped open her Pokegear, taking a look at the message from Sasha once she heard the tell-tale beep of the device.
"Sasha's birthday, huh?" she murmured, smiling faintly. "Bah, of course I have to get her a present, I can't very well ignore it," she laughed. "I will make sure its not from a Delibird, though." She looked to Alkaid who was perched on a nearby branch, "You'll help, right?" she asked with a smile.
The Swablu burbled her agreement with a happy flutter, and so the two went through the town, gym forgotten for the time being in order to find a gift for their friend.

Making her way to the front counter, Chloe made her purchase, Alkaid perching on her shoulder as they paid for the music box, before exiting the shop.
"So... Sasha said she'd be in Dewford to challenge Brawly... I think that's where we need to head, right?" she asked the Swablu on her shoulder, who nodded in agreement.
"Alrighty, so let's find the others and head out," Chloe grinned, patting the blue bird as the two meandered through the town once more, headed eastwards, back to Cael and the others.

Chloe and Alkaid landed soon after in Fortree, as Chloe hightailed it to the Pokecenter doors, thinking for a moment.
"I know Kaz would come in handy," she murmured, entering the center and making her way to the PC. "The question is who to swap out in the meantime," she yawned, accessing her records and flipping to her PC box. After a moment's deliberation, she settled for swapping out Saku for a brief time, planning on raising the Shelgon a bit later.
Confident in her choice, she made her way to the gym, opening the doors as she issued her challenge.
"Hello? I'm here to challenge Winona to a match!" she declared, smiling faintly.

Chloe nodded, "Thanks, we'll be sure to make this match interesting. Come on out, Cáel!" she summoned the Dragonite to the arena, as Cáel smiled to Chloe, before turning serious, flapping his wings to stay aloft over the arena floor, prepared to fight.

As the mental countdown to the match began, Chloe felt confident that she would do alright in this match, but was sure not to let it get to her head. Any battle took quick-thinking, even those you felt assured to win.
At a moment's notice, both Dragonite and Skarmory took off, grappling mid-air, steel wings and claws coming into play as the two fought. Chloe was careful to keep an eye on the Skarmory's movements, as it dove in, beak first, aiming to strike Cáel.
"Cáel! Quick, Thunderbolt!" she called the Dragonite, who retaliated with a chage of electricity that arced through the gym, immediately finding a lightning rod in the steel bird, who squawked, writhing from the blast, growling as its wings screeched in protest as it fluttered to escape the electricity.

The Skarmory was able to shake off the blow, still growling in annoyance, as it kicked up the speed, metal wings vibrating in a constant hum, the Skarmory swooped past Cáel, leaving a vacuum in its wake. Cáel fought against the strong air currents, flapping hard to whirl to face the oncoming Skarmory who had soared in close. Winona nodded, "Alright, strike back with Night Slash, now!" she called to the metallic bird, who's wings began to glow with a dark aura. Flipping expertly, the Skarmory slammed into Cáel razor-sharp wingtips first, as the dark aura exploded into a black vortex.

"Cáel! You alright, buddy!?" Chloe called worriedly to the rafters, as Cáel dislodged the Skarmory, bleeding slightly from the blow, however, he wasn't in any trouble just yet. The Dragonite nodded, smiling back down to Chloe with a confident "Draooo!" before his eyes narrowed, turning back to the Skarmory. The metallic bird was still swooping around, so he joined int he same maneuver, taking advantage of the wide spaces in the gym's ceiling, prepared for flying types. The Dragon darted through the rafters, in pursuit of the Skarmory, as Chloe let her next orders fly.
"Another Thunderbolt!" she called to her partner, who nodded, before sending another electrifying blast at the Skarmory.

The Skarmory was clearly getting weakened by now, and was slowing its flight, making it easier for Cáel to catch up to him. Winona wasn't about to give up yet, as he ordered her partner to move.
"Use Slash!" she called suddenly, as Skarmory whirled on a dime, doing a veritable flip mid-air, lashing out at Cael with its wings once more. Cáel let out a suprised cry at the blow, grappling to dislodge the Skarmory w ho wildly flailed, trying to do as much damage with the attack as possible.

"Cáel! Quick! Finish it off with one last Thunderbolt!" Chloe called to herpartner, who nodded, grabbing hold of the Skarmory, and releasing a blast of electricity. When the crackling had ceased, both Cael and Skarmory landed, looking to each other for a moment, before the Skarmory stumbled and fell, unable to continue the match.

Chloe smiled, "I'm sure we won't disappoint," she promised. After sending Entreri out for a brief moment, she recalled the Sneasel, motioning Cáel out once more.
The Swellow took the opportunity to strike as it darted forward, vortex of wind swirling about it as it used an Air slash. Cael braced himself, placing his hands outwards, to try to block some of the blow, as the Swellow slammed into the Dragonite, carrying them both back a few yards, as Chloe skittered out of the way of the fighting pair.

"Hang in there!" Chloe called to her partner, nodding as Cáel gave her a reassuring smile. It was still a long way before the Dragonite was finished. Chloe grinned, "Use another Thunderbolt! Send that bird flying," she declared, as Cáel charged up and released another blast of electricity at the Swellow, who squawked in pain, flitting out of the way to avoid any more unpleasant shocks.

The Swellow soon enough darted back into the fray with orders from Winona to let loose another Air Slash. Cáel withstood this blow fairly easily as well, growling slightly as he retaliated on Chloe's command with another Thunderbolt, sparks skittering across the gym floor as the Swellow dislodged, fleeing to the rafters, Cáel in hot pursuit.

The Swellow let loose another Air Slash at the same time Cáel released his final Thunderbolt. Cáel landed, while the Swellow fluttered weakly to the gym floor, fainting a moment later, unable to continue the match.
