As soon as Sergeant Hyobi gave the 'halt' signal, Captain Twombley jogged up to where Hyobi was halted. The rest of the unit knelt down, defensively, eager to keep moving, because there was not much cover in the hallway where they were. Numerous Covenant corpses littered the floor from their failed charges.
Hyobi and Randall were muttering something quietly to one another, and Twombley only caught the disagreement between the two. Peering around the corner as he crouched beside the two, the Captain saw the small Covenant squad Sergeant Hyobi had already pointed out. Thinking quickly, Twombley thought it best move as quickly as possible through the structure. Because if they lagged, they would quickly be overwhelmed and cut to peices, making their effort to secure the central power station and relieve the Marines up a level or so, worthless.
Sliding back behind cover, Twombley looked to Hyobi and Randall. "Okay, they seem to be the only thing stopping us now. We gotta keep moving so were gonna hit 'em before the realize what's happening. A small blitzkrieg." By now other members of the unit were huddled up in cover with them, listening to the plan. "Questions? No? Good." Twombley said quickly, intentionally not giving the chance for questions because time was short. "Frag them, then go in guns blazing. Try to bring down the bigger targets quickly. Don't let them spread out, keep them bunched up...Ready?" Twombley looked to the rest of the unit before he gave the order to attack.

"Ready sir!" Randall whispered over his com. He checked to make sure his clip was full, and took a frag off his belt, primed it, and held the saftey, ready to let fly....

Twombley nodded to all of them, as a few others primed their frag grenades. Shooting up to his feet, shouldering his rifle, Captain Twombley gave the order. "Now! Do it!" Frag grenades flew out of the shadows where they had hid, and into the meek group of Covenant, whom would never expected to have the Human forces charging at them now.

Randall heaved his grenade into the midst of the grunts, then took a single shot, hitting the breather mask. The mask shattered into bits, but was still spewing out methane, thankfully. Randall hadn't been sure that it would still work. He ducked back behind the wall, yelling "Cover!!!"

After the large had begun, Hyobi darted in front of a couple of grunts whom seem to have been very unwary and beat them both down to the ground with the butt of his BR55. The Elite ran towards him. Knowing he was no match for the giant alien, Hyobi began to back up, firing upon the alien as ODST's joined him. The alien crumpled to the ground. The ambush had won. Hyobi turned to Twombley. "Captain, we need to move, I'm not sure how much longer those marines would survive."

Randall slunk up ahead to scout the passage out. After finding nothing but covie corpses, he clicked his mic twice to signal "all clear"

Kyle held his comms. gear up to his head, "Goddammit HQ isn't anybody on this thing!?" He looked off in the distance and saw grunts by the thousands charging at them with shrill cries and screams. Suddenly he noticed what was behind them. He looked. He saw grunts, jackals, elites, brutes, and drones flew above them in swarms to cover them. Kyle and the other men looked as a wall of purple and orange charged towards them, "Holy s**t man! We're all gonna die!" The sargeant slapped the marine across the face, "Calm yourself maggot!" Kyle held the mic. to his mouth one more time, "Goddammit this is the 5th marines division! WE NEED SOME ******** HELP!!!!" He waited for a response, "It looks like we're on our own..." He looked off in the distance. He heard a marine in the backround say, "This is bad...Real bad." Kyle made a stance and shouldered his weapon, "Okay...We may be outnumbered, out gunned, and possibly outmanuvered. But we have something they don't have. That's hope. We have hope and the will to fight for Earth. To fight for what is right. We can also destroy them with our superior skills. We will stand fight until the last marine dies!" Then all the marines looked at Kyle and he got up onto a pile of smoldering rubble left from a warthog, "Now who's with me!?" He looked around and then the marines all were lloking at him and even the sargeant was looking at him and then simultaneously they all said, "OOOOO-RAAHH!!" Kyle smiled and then he heard a call come into his comm unit, "This is major Bensen. Soldier what are you coordinates?" Kyle looked at the GPS on his arm, "My coordinates are grid seventy-two by twelve." He waited. "Understood. Bensen. Out." He waited and looked around, "We got support on our way sarge!" The men looked around and chattered between each other and then organized themselves into their original squads. He looked into the distance and saw the aliens racing towards them. Suddenly he heard the deep, load roar of engines. He turned around to see scorpion tanks and warthogs mobilizing behind them. Suddenly pelicans flew over them and dropped a payload of multiple bombs onto the covenant forces. Kyle looked in awe as more bombs were dropped. He faced the marines and smiled then raised his gun and waved it foreward, "Follow me to glory!!"

Their quickly thought out plan of attack had succeded. Thankful that there were no other covenant in the immediate area, Captain Twombley replied to Sergeant Hyobi, "Roger that Sergeant, take the lead again. Everyone, form up and follow after the Sarge. Move it!"
Sergeant Hyobi was right, they needed to keep moving, the quicker the better. Twombley had hoped that the quick slaughter that had just occured would keep the ODSTs sharp so incase they ran into anymore Covenant, they all would make short of them. They couldn't afford to be stalled by anything else now, the Marines lives depended on it. The extra manpower the Marines would provide would be essential in their objective of securing the central power station.

Hyobi nodded and continued walking, scanning every corner. He found the staircase he was talking about and made a right. Quickly looking over the side, Hyobi found the dead body of a marine slouched over a machine gun. He hoped for the best. The doors were still closed, so he figured that the marines may have survived, despite the plasma burns. He limped up the stairs with little difficulty. He got into position to hotwire the door. He looked at Captain Twombley with a solomn look under his helmet and grave tone in his voice. "Sir, I'm not sure if they are alive in there. We may be too late, based on that." He pointed to the dead marine with plasma burns still sparking on the body.
"I open this door on your order."
