"Hmm, probably, but he didn't have a good enough defense for me to go any higher."

Shinju nooded her head. "The poor thing probly just needs a bit of help in his training." Shinju said, "A little bit of time in null space with a good teacher might be a good idea."

"Nah, he was too young for null space, and thats what we were doing. I was helping him develop a good water defense by striking him with lightning."

Shinju grimaced. "Ouch. I usually perfer an ice or wood defense against lightning." Shinju said, "Wood being the most effective for beginners, of course."

"Actually, his main element is water and I was teaching him how to control it at the time, so I figured the best way to strengthen that defense was to use the element it was weak against, that way once he got that down, it would be easy to guard against the others."

(I think I've put my character Mazarith through quite a few changes by now...Kinda odd how he all of a sudden held himself into one person one day, when he used to be a kid with Multiple Personality Disorder, and his Personalities split into different-coloured bodies of their own...I think maybe it was a good thing that I changed that....)
A small, five year old boy walked in. "I knew you were holding back much more than you said..That lightning you used on me was way too weak..." He said, and suddenly a giant, super sturdy shield of water appeared in front of him. "But it did the trick, all the same..." He said, grinning. "I think maybe you focus too much on how I once was, Ryu. When I was helping Mazarith train for the tournament, I was training myself, too. Though I taught him to use water, I was fighting fire stronger than my water a few times...He kept forgetting I was trying to teach him to use water those few times...."
"I just wanted to fight water with fire, god...I was trying to see if I could beat my weakness. And hey, it was fun." He said.
"Mm-hmm.....Psycho......" He mumbled. "And Ryu blames me for being crazy wanting to fight lightning.." He shook his head. "I don't think I'll ever understand you, ya walkin' talkin' fireball..."
He chuckled.
"Oh, and Ryu, a little something I learned on my own while I was gone..Remember how I started using lightning myself before? Well, I've gotten better. Right before I left Mazarith showed me what was a little secret of his before, and that was the lightning. He reminded me, and when I left, I started using it again...Eh-heh..." He let his water shield vanish, and orbs of lightning appeared in his hands. He held them up, and put them together. The new one grew about as big as Miroke. "I'd add water to it, but it might explode.." He let it vanish.

Shinju laughed and shook her head. "Better then I was at his age." Shinju said, "I couldn't mix elements until I was 8 years old."

"Yeah, I was about ten when I finally mixed water and fire without either of them disappearing."

Shinju smiled. "My first mix was wood and fire." Shinju said, "Though it was completly accidental, I learned how to control it really quickly."
