nekoluch On the name subject: Ri-mu-do >o.o< *points to sig* ... I've caught one person calling him "Limbo" and basically pointed-and-laughed xd ... weird~ It says Limdo in the english translation, so I don't understand the mix-up. A B makes all the difference between being a ditch and...well...you get it x3 Don't see how that one letter got changed randomly.
I wish I got Perfect World volume 4 >.< ... I want that poster with misc. Watase characters on it~ overall, I'm missing vol 1, 3 & 4... and FWEE~! volume 7 is coming out soon~? *pokes Manda* =^_^= Iname!
*p.s. I'm new here : D Feel free to poke at me! Yea... see, that's the thing with Japanese is pronunciation is KEY. A lot of people don't get that. My Japanese 401 professor has had to correct people and coach some of the students in my class on pronunciation, and I would think after four years of college level Japanese they'd be better than that. Oh well... In regards to Perfect World, unfortunately, if you don't get a volume the instant you can it's pretty much sold out. I know volumes 1-5 are. You can still get volume 6 at Sasuga Books. As much as the earlier posters were nice, I like the one in volume six the most, double sided. It was so hard to choose which one I wanted facing more ;_; But I'm happy to have been pretty much sweeping up all the Genbu Kaiden things I can. I just wish I could get the items they offer in the Perfect World volumes. I finally ordered the two drama CDs they've come out with, and I'm waiting for them to get here they should be here any day now. Now I just need to re-do my Takiko wig so I can wear my costume again...

Yeah, Rimudo. My friend just can't accept the fact that the cutie's name is Rimudo, instead of Limdo...haiz..

I think it's funny that its actually easier for me to say "Rimudo" than "Limdo."
Just alot easier to pronounce, which is why I like it when they call him Uruki.

So... volume two is out in English, and it was interesting.
Shigi and Hien are now Ziyi and Feiyan. Seriously, I appreciate the Translator's effort to put the names in Chinese, but its going to create confusion, and also is inconsistent from the translation of the original FY.
I mean, if the series becomes animated they are going to have their Japanese pronunciations. And I just noticed today that Soruen is Soren, which is wrong. The 'ru' is pronounced, even if just slightly. I just don't know... its annoying that they can't seem to think things through.

I think the effort to make the names easier for people to pronounce it futile. I can't pronounce most names without thinking it for a while, whether Viz makes it easier for me or not.
I hope that if there ever is an animation version of the series they will go with the orignal pronouncations. Though, that would backfire also because a lot of the people who read the series could care less about the translation differences.
I just dont know, I think that people should write angry letters to Viz...
I love that they picked up the series, but I think what will urk me the most is if they change one of the Celestial names.

Takiko-chan Watase is still writing it, but I expect it to be a little over 10 volumes. ^^ Pretty good with no Shentso-Pao to find and all that. (Heck, they invented the Shentso-Pao...)

Uruki is hilarious XD I love his character, especially when he and Tomite are fighting over who gets to "save Takiko from fainting in the bath", or so they assumed.... xd Hilarious...I love this series so much!
But I heard that this was going to have a tragic ending... crying Well it makes sense I guess since in Fushigi Yuugi, Hikitsu and Tomite appear as ghosts. And by vol. 3, a bunch of people have died...makes me want to cry. ;_;

I don't like Limdo, either XD I prefer calling him Uruki... heart
And people think I'm nuts because I'm fond of Shigi... sweatdrop
And does anyone know when the anime starts or has it started already? O_o The song Towa no Hana is amazing... heart I'm definitely buying it when/if it comes out

....Does anyone actually bother to read the posts around here? We all would LOVE for a FYGK anime, but there has been no mention whatsoever of one in the works. So there is no anime as of yet.

o.o Towa no Hana was used for a trailer I saw of the Genbu kaiden ps2 game~... that's as close to animation as it'll get methinks. I have a hard time seeing Watase-sensei going through another anime-battle for FY >oxo< after the OVAs of the original kinda confuzzled fans on the issues of the Genbu series~
Manda- I wanted the smaller poster because it included Amiboshi and the other warriors in spiffy modern clothes : P heart I made a special frame for the two-sided poster so I can flip it when I like xDD I couldn't choose a side either, lol.
