But that is where the DM factor comes in. Sure, you can abuse it, but there's somebody to put the foot down on that abuse, which you generally don't have in video games or RPs, particularly the former. Sure they often slip by, but at least there is a chance of having a ridiculously broken and unrealistic combo broken by a big voice from the sky that says "No, you can't do that."
