Dan was in the middle of therapy when he winced in pain. He pushed himself to move the 350lb. weights.

Jen nodded and went back into the waiting room to wait for Dan.

he pushed harder and let out this scream of pain. He was sweating and his knee was killing him but he kept going

Jen heard him scream and ran into the back room, where he was with his trainer. She walked over to his side and took his hand, squeezing it gently.

he lightly squeezed hers while pushing himself to the limit. He then stopped and was breathing heavily.

"Are you ok?" She asked, hugging him. She didn't care that he was covered in sweat, she smiled slightly and pulled away.

The trainer wrapped up Dan's knee then went to Jen. "can I have a minute with you please Jen?" he asked.

"Yea, I'll be right back." She told Dan and followed the trainer out of the room to talk to him.

once out of the room he looked at Jen. "He's pushing 350 pounds on his first session. You know how he's doing that?"

"I might have the slightest idea, why? Is that unusual?" She asked, as calmly as she could manage, although it sounded like she said it skeptically.

"He's in college. He hurt himself playing football." Jen said, fighting the urge to roll her eyes. "We do therapy regularly." She added, without a trace of a smile.
