As the other beings sleep, or so it appears so, Westley lies awake in his campsite. Located at the end of cul-de-sac, in site number two and between Lael's site and Kitara's family site, the man finds himself lonely. 'And there's nothing I can do about it, either. No significant other nor anyone who would find me attractive, especially with my deformity,' he mentally sighs. Having only a propped-up screen for his tent, he looks up to the stars and sighs. A bit later, without any sound, he leaves his "tent" and goes down to the beach, transforming into his cougar side as he does so. 'At least I can get away....' he thinks to himself. MargemianCougar ((OOC: Campsite set up is as follows for now on: #2 #3 #1 #4 {V} #5 {V} - entrance to the five sites from the main road.)) ((OOC: 1 - Lael, 2 - Westley, 3 - Katara, Jay and Trea, 4 - Darian and Margem, 5 - Nathan and Lily.))

Lael awakes suddenly in a cold sweat from a dream she cannot remember. Knowing that with the adrenaline now running through her system she won't get back to sleep she grabs her book and steps outside.

As he jogs down to the beach, the moon comes out from behind the clouds. The moonlight shines down on the cougar as he continues to run, his coat turning slightly silver.
'It's happened one time before. I don't want it to happen again, though I really do like her... Give me a break, seriously.'

Lael looks up at the stars. There's so many. It's nice. She smiles to herself and heads towards the beach. She does not see Westley in his cougar form as she settles herself in the sand, not expecting anyone else to be up so late. Laying back she looks up at the stars, her book beside her.

Westley hears the sand shift slightly. His yellow eyes flash a bit when he sees her, scared that he'll be found out to be a transformer. He shakes his head and licks his right paw as he thinks of what to do or say with her around. Lost in thought, his tongue runs over something sharp and pointy ingrained into his paw.
'What in the....?!' he growls lowly, trying to figure it out.
Realizing he growled out loud, he glances over to where Lael sat before dashing into the bushes nearby. There, he tries to get the sliver out of his paw. It is no use and the wound is starting to bleed.... but he knew that he couldn't transform without it making even more damage as his human hands aren't as rough and thick as his cougar paws are.
'I'm going to need help with this, seriously, or else I may lose quite a bit of blood. And I can't transform without getting rid of it,' he thinks to himself, sitting among the bushes and every so often glancing Lael's direction, 'She'd probably be the most help, especially right now. But how could I ask her help when I'm like this? ...it's helpless.'

Hearing the growl Lael sits up sharply and looks around, but sees nothing. Recognizing that the sound came from a large animal she scans the area carefully. Was it my imagination? she thinks. She stands, still alert for any movement.

His ears press against his head as he swears mentally, 'Sh**, she heard me....'
He continues to lick his paw but winces as he does so.
'It hurts a lot... And she can help me,' he thinks to himself before slowly and timidly coming out of the bushes. 'Now, just don't scare her, intentionally or otherwise.'
He limps towards her, leaving a trail of blood behind him as his paw is severely wounded.

Lael freezes, seeing the cougar limping towards her. But she also sees that he's hurt. It could kill me, hurt or otherwise, she thinks. But I can't just leave it here. Crap. What should I do? Against her better judgement, and feeling like an idiot, she carefully approaches Westley and holds out a hand for him to smell, not knowing that he isnt' a wild cougar. "Please don't kill me," she says softly, her voice trembling. "You need some help, big guy. Don't kill me and I'll see what I can do about your paw. I'm not going to hurt you. I don't think I could." I'm talking to it. It can't even understand me! I must be crazy to do this! she thinks.

The cougar licks his lips pensively. Knowing that he needs to show that he won't hurt her, he lies down on the ground, holding his paw out towards her and purring.
He sighs before saying, "I know you won't hurt me, Lael. If I had perceived you as a threat, I would have hurt you at the hotel..."

Lael stops, stares, tries to collect her thoughts, and, recognizing his voice, says, "Westley? Is that you?" She takes his paw and begins to examins it, still shaking slightly. "This isn't making any sence to me. Either I'm going crazy, or you'd better explain."

Though his paw is giving him some pain, Westley sighs and says, "It's a long story. Short version: I was attacked when I was younger by a cougar. I aquired it's DNA somehow and I have my human side and my cougar side. ...and there's more to it, but I don't know what I could say about my past right now to calm you down."

Lael says, "Then I won't even ask." She carefully extracts a thin, sharp piece of metal from his paw. "How did that get in there?" she asks. She rips a piece off of her nightgown and binds the paw. "We'll have to get something better for this soon if we don't want to get thousands of tiny strings in it, and it'll be better when I can clean it, but this'll work for now. Come on. I have better materials up in my tent. If you'll come with me we can get it cleaned and properly bandaged. It's probably work better if you're in human form, too."

Westley glances at his paw, growling a bit, before saying, "You're going to have to change the bandage once I get back into my human form... And I don't think you even want to see me change."
He then limps off back towards the brush. He hopes that Lael doesn't follow him as he doesn't want to frighten her even more than he has already.
'It's not pretty...'

Lael stays where she is, waiting for him to return. If he doesn't want her to see him change she's not going to go look. While she waits she examins the piece of metal she pulled from Westley's paw. I wonder where this came from? I hope nothing's broken or anything like that. She pockets it, thinking that she'll look at it again later and see if she can figure out exactally where it came from.

Westley pauses in the brush and changes into his human form, his fur changing from fur into skin. His tail disappears as he looks up to the sky. He blinks his eyes then closes them for a minute.
He steps from the brush, appearing as he usually does in his human form but without his glasses. In his hands is the bandage, his right hand still bleeding from his open wound.
"Re-wrap it please?" he says, stepping up to Lael.
