The dark leopardess stretched out upon her tree limb, yawning slightly, her tongue unfurling as it went on. Another day in her jungle. Another day in paradise. Jade green eyes searched the path below her for signs of activity. It'd been a while since the last time she'd really gone for a walk in her jungle, surveyed the sights and such things. Which is probably what she should do today.

"Lord knows where that skinny little rat is, or what he's up to here. Probably disturbing my peace, as usual." Grumbling, Tamani stood up, arching her back for a moment before padding to the end of the limb and leaping off, silently padding down the path to the crystal clear pool of water she'd inhabited a while back, the one she'd met Kitambi by.

A faint flicker of thought crossed her mind, idly wondering where the little leopard cub had gone to. She hadn't seen him in a while, and while she preferred alone-ness, he was decent to have around sometimes...

He heard rather than saw the leopardess as she landed on the ground and his ears twitched thoughtfully as he shifted his gaze to glance through the trees. Could it be that they weren't as alone as they thought in this jungle?

He straightened and twitched his ears forward, peering through the thick green foliage and started off once more to find whoever had made that noise.

He left if up to Bakhti whether she followed him or not.

Bakhti had giggled a little when Amari fell and had been watching him when she had seen something out the corner of her eye. She wondered whether to follow Amari but made up her mind rather quickly.

As she followed Amari she kept her head down wondering what it was she saw. Was it another lion? Maybe a male? She didn't want to hope as she was sure she would be dissapointed but she couldn't help but hope.

Raising his head, Athari sniffed at the air, his flared nostrils detecting faint whiffs of...another leopard? and something else...lions. Creeping forward on his limb, he peered down through the foliage, his dappled coat illuminated in irregular patches by the light that filtered through the trees.

Amari paused as the path widened a little, turning his head back to glance at Bakhti, glad that she was following him. Hazel eyes turned once more to face forwards and his round ears cupped forwards to draw in the sounds that fluttered about him.

"There's something out there." He whispered to his companion, lowering himself a little. He wasn't sure why he felt nervous but there was something stirring quietly in the jungle, and an animal that moved stealthily around the trees was one to be wary of.

Best to make his presence known.

He parted his jaws, youthful teeth glimmering in the dappled sunshine that brought out brilliant hues on his coat. Then in another second the roar rumbled out from his throat, echoing around as a greeting to those who might here it.

She watched him yawning. She could hear whatever was out there but if it was edible he had just scared it off. She sighed and looked around her eyes resting on something. It moved slightly she was sure of it.

She turned to Amari, "Look over there!" She pointed to some undergrowth it wasn't easy to spot unless it moved but something was there she was sure of it.

Split Personality
Pumbaa snorted excitedly and bucked. "Vines are the best. Lets do ittt!" He poised, ready to take off. Expecting that Timon would get on his back but not be thrown on it, he smiled at Kago and grunted. "At the starting lines we have The Wonderus Warthog of Wangilona and on his mighty back we have..." He tilted his head upwards waiting for Timon to add his line. He moved his front hoof foreward, and drug it on the ground. He grunted again.

Split LIVES!<3

"Timon the Magnificent, Great and Almighty." Timon added, grinning widely. "Who's amazing and stupendous-"

"OKAYGO!" Kago yelled suddenly, tearing off through the jungle at a lightning-fast pace.

Timon yelped, then grabbed ahold of Pumbaa's mane, bouncing up and down. "WAIT A SECOND, YOU DIDN'T GIVE US TIME! gonk "

At the lion's roar, Athari had to fight his own instinct to raise his voice in response...like peeing on an electric fence, pitting yourself against a lion when you were only a juvenile leopard was NOT SMART. Instead, he crouched closer to the branch, moving steadily forward to better see the forest below.

Oblivious to the going's on about her, Tamani wandered closer and closer to her favored pond, noting with satisfactory pleasure that few animals had happened upon it. Even fewer animals she herself could, or would possibly feel threatened by. Sitting casually by the edge of the pool the dark leopardess leant her head down to lap at the cool refreshing water.

Was she indeed that unaware of her surroundings, or simply just ignoring it for now, as to catch something offguard later? This little leopard's demeanor betrayed nothing of her current thoughts, nor did her actions. Only when she drank her fill did Tamani lift her head and lick her lips, pawing gently at her whiskers to preen them.

Just as the girl was about to wander back the way she came, a pitiful sounding roar was heard, more of a squeal to her than something even slightly menacing. A quick snarl slipped past Tamani's muzzle as she slowly crept up in the direction of the roars. Couldn't be anything too scary, the roar couldn't have scared enough a mouse. A young lion was about, but why? Lions weren't native to the jungle, hell most of them nearly starved to death, unable to range across the trees like she did. A moment's thought was taken on this before the slightly chunky, yet lithe form skittered up a tree, then leaped to another, watching down below for the intruders.

Once she was upon them, Tamani laid down on the branch and hissed down at the youngsters. "Well well well...what do we have here? A bit out of your element, wouldn't you say, felines?" Laying her ears back only slightly, not incredibly threatening, but enough to show her annoyance, Tamani flicked her tail up and down before addressing them again. "Enjoying my jungle, felines? As far as the eye can see...if it looks like this, it's mine. So, what brings you to my jungle, if you don't mind me asking?" Full of herself ain't she? But then too, she did claim every right to this jungle and everything in it... And besides, who could argue? She could very well have been right...

Catching the slight sound of another leopard nearby, Athari froze, taking great pains to remain more silent. When he heard the young...female leopard hiss something at the juvenile lions on the forest floor, he crept towards her, careful to stay downwind, and to keep his claws from making any noise as he attempted to make his way onto th same branch she currently occupied, thinking perhaps to show solidarity in case things didn't go well.

Of course, his willingness to step in might also be because this was the first leopard he'd seen since his mother's abandonment back when he was a cub...and he wasn't about to spend the rest of his time alone, if he could help it.

Amari glanced up at the sound above him and his eyes narrowed a little, he hadn't seen many of her kind before and he really had no interest in starting a fight with one...and yet there was something about her demenour which irritated him.

He flicked his tail and took a small step back knowing how easy it would be for her to leap down onto him. There were many things that this young lion hated, and one of them was being at a disadvantage. There was something lingering in her tone that also didn't fit in, because surely the jungle didn't and couldn't belong to one female leopard.

A muscle twithed in his jaw in the beginnings of a snarl and his hazel eyes deepened as he regarded this spotted female with interest and irritation. Okay so they were new in the jungle and obviously this place had been her home for a while now, it would be best to respect her rights...wouldn't it?

With a slight tilt of his head he summoned as much patience as possible and gave the feline a toothy smile. "I beg your pardon ma'am but we weren't aware this jungle belonged to anyone." He shook the mane clear from his eyes and flicked his ears forward. "And yes..." He trailed off, suddenly aware of movement somewhere to his right, eyes picking up the extremely well camoflagued form of another leopard. "We find this place suitable for our needs."

Then angling his head towards the newcomer he regarded them both with curiosity and nervousness, was this some kind of a threat? "So, who's your friend?" He asked as calmly as possible, muscles in his legs bunching as he prepared to run, forgetting Bakhti's presence briefly in his growing fear, but really...what did a lion have to fear from a leopard? As far as he could tell they had sharp teeth and claws just as he had, and they had the advantage of being able to climb and get out of harms way.

He huffed and awaited answers, deciding to hold back judgement until he had heard what they had to say.

The adolescent lioness knew something about leopards from the short time she had been with her mother and that was that a lion could easily kill one. She watched Amari who was obviously rather scared but her attention wasn't on the one in the trees. She had seen something on the ground.

Her hearing told her only one leaopard was near but her scent of smell told her otherwise and she thought it was best to deal with one leopard before another. She turned to Amari and nuzzled him whispering into his ear that they couldn't do them to much damage though between them they could probably kill the leopard. She then turned to the leopard in the trees.

Her eyes scanned the creature before smiling, "I must say if this is your jungle as you say it is then why dont you come down and talk to us on the ground or must I say you are to scared. Also if this is your jungle then why is there another of your kind near?" She smiled briefly looking to where she thought the other leopard was. She couldnt see him but these creatures stunk.

Smirking at the rudeness of the lioness, Athari actually snorted from his position a little bit behind Tamani on the same tree limb. "I must say," he began, deliberately using her own words, albeit in a mocking tone "that for one who's intruding on another's domain, you're certainly demanding--seems to me that visitors and newcomers usually try to at least be polite--but, if you want to make an issue of it...why dont' you come up here and make it known--why should we have to come down to your level?" he said, an innocent expression on his face.

She looked over to the other leopard and laughed. "I would if it was worth it. We can be as much at home in the trees as you are if we wish." She then yawned flashing her teeth though not dilebratly. "Why is it so much of a deal if lions live in the jungle anyway?" She was curious about this. She had found the place beautiful and she was going to live here if they wanted her to or not.

Lightly snoozing beneath a tree was Neema; she had been missing Balamwezi, despite them only being apart for roughly an hour. After getting a drink and chatting to Bakhti for a short while, she'd returned to the jungle for a nap. Although it may not have been the best place in the world, it was somewhere to call home; and was definitely a solace to rogues, such as herself.

Currently, the emerald-coloured lioness blended in with her surroundings almost perfectly as she dreamt of beginning a new pride, one where herself and Bala reigned as king and queen. They had several young cubs, each a beautiful shade of blue or green.

The lioness rolled over in her sleep, eyes closed peacefully, newly-aquired necklace and bracelet shining in the dapped forest light.
