Roy growled after she left. He couldn't do anything but stand their for a moment as she was int he room. He was scared of her at that point. She hadn't been serious since he met her except for during that episode. He scratched his head an growled a bit. He ripped up the document, a forged marriage certificate he found with Kinami's name on it and a blank space for the groom. He was just playing a joke and it backfired. He dashed after her. "Hay! I was tellin the truth you know!" He called out to her as she was well ahead of him," I really did want your signiture to learn to forge it so I could sign some of the other documents for you. As for that exact document in my hand...well.." He began to blush a bit, "It was just a joke. You didn't have to take it so seriously." He was still a child in this regard. He saw jokes as jokes, nothing harmful. He didn't quite understand her anger over something so small.

Roy stood there. He was faced with a decision. He was at the top of the steps looking at the woman he loved(or at least thinks he loves. he's only 10 after all) walk off. He could easily go back into the Kage' office and start filing away the papers in hopes that Kinami just needed time to cool down. Or he could go after her and hope that his persistance would pay off. However, in either case, he could see the downfalls of both choices.

A few moments past and he looked to see Kinami almost at the bottom of the stairs. He growled to himself and screamed out, "DAMMIT!" He then jumped to the top of the railing and lept from one part of the railing ot the next in a speedy decent. In the end, he managed to leap right in front of Kinami blocking her path. He landed on his hands and knees and stayed that way. "I'm sory..." was all he could say. He just risked his life decending the tower to say theses words. He wasn't a full ninja yet and so a trick like this was highly dangerous. He did it because he didn't want Kinami mad at him. He couldn't stand it. "I didn't mean to make you mad. I keep seeming to hurt you no matter what I do. It was a joke, just a joke. I didn't want you to get all mad over it. If I had known how important your signiture was, I wouldn't have said anything to begin with. I just wanted to have fun with you Kinami. We don't have fun anymore...I'm sorry." A few tears would hit the floor.

Kinami stopped and blinked. She listened to his apology, feeling incredibly guilty when he began to cry. An awkward silence descended between them- Kinami hated when things began awkward. She cast out her mind for something to say, but couldn't grasp a thought long enough that made sense. Nothing seemed right to say...how could she follow up a speech like that?

"It's hard to have fun when you have a lot on your mind," she said finally. "It's harder still when you've carried the weight of duty on your shoulders for years." Kinami reached out a hand and tilted Roy's tear-stained face towards hers. "It's the hardest thing, having fun, when everything seems so dark. I'm sorry that I've been such an old hag."

With that, she acted on her own whims. She leaned forward, placing a pure, chaste kiss onto Roy's lips. She drew back quickly, pointedly not looking at him, edging around him and continuing to leave.

This time, however, she was blushing furiously, completely confused, and unknowning of the tiny smile that graced her features.

Roy stood and whiped his face. He wasn't sure why he cried to begin with or why he even came charging so recklessly down after Kinami but he had. He looked to her walking off and realized...he had already come this far, it'd be stupid to let her walk off now. He looked to her for a moment and thought. He was getting his nerve together as well as his thoughts. He thought back to the last time Kinami had issues with him and he relaized she didn't hear him...at least he didn't think she heard his confession. Or maybe she thought it was some part of her delusion. He wasn't sure and he wanted to make sure she knew.

He reached down and scooped up the cat ears and put them in his pocket. He clinched them tightly for a mometn then dashed after Kinami. He gripped ahold of her arm and spun her around. As she would be spun, he jumped up to her and touched his nose to hers and then placed a kiss upon her lips. He held it as long as he could even though he was shorter than her. He then looked ehr right in the eye as a deep blush filled his entire face. he looked her up and down then spoke."I love you...I know you probably hear that about 20 billion times a month and I have no better way to prove it but to say I mean it. I know none of that probably means much coming from a 10 year old kid but I hope it means something. I know I don't fully understand love between a man and woman yet but I know if there is such a thing in this world then I have it for you. I don't ever want to leave you alone when I'm around you Kinami. I get really sad when you leave or have something to do or I have to go and do something. I don't show it but I do. And I hate to see you frown...your hotter when you smile. And...so...I guess I'm saying I want to make you smile more...well...maybe not make yous mile but...I want to see you smile...really smile...ok...I'm ranting...ummm how bout we go eat or something..." he wanted to change the subject because he was startign to feel the heat from the blush that covered half his body now.

Kinami smiled and shook her head slightly. "A man and a woman?" she teased. "A man and a woman." Thinking momentarily, she smiled for real and wrinkled her nose at her own idea. "I'll tell you what, then," she poked his nose, her eyes gaining back a familiar shine to them. "When you become a man, whenever that may be...then I'll consider a serious relationship with you."

There. She had said it. No going back now, she berated herself. She never broke her word, and really, she didn't think she would want to break this one. If someone could wait years (quite possibly longer) for her, then she knew that she'd have a chance at happiness with them.
