Had to post this... She is one of my birthday presents. And if you look in the background, you can see my Tigger...

I think of all the pics I have posted here and there, I like this one the best!

Nice pic. I wish I had the nerve to post one of my birthday pics, but as it is I do not even have the heart to look at them crying I am sure I will be happy to use them as "BEFORE" pics someday...

Well, this is actually an after picture. We spent the night at Downtown Disney and had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. It was soooo much fun.

I spent this year's birthday at Epcot. The next day it rained so we went to Downtown Disney. Coincidentally, we had dinner at that Rainforest Cafe in FLA. We bought a 3 Day All Attractions Pass, and ended up going to the Magic Kingdom for a second day, even though I first thought we would want an extra day at Epcot. Turns out Epcot is *Okay* and definitely worth seeing at least once, I just think the kids were having more fun at Disney World. Me too. At least by the second day of Disney World I had managed to stop spending money redface I even had to buy more luggage to ship home my new sorcerers AND potato parts, and the Disney shirts go without saying rofl
I was still fairly dissappointed to spend *my* day totally AFK, but obviously survived rolleyes

They had more potato parts? What did they have different?

But she promised every dance there is as a senior! "Thanks"

A tip on dresses--Marshalls is a GREAT place to get formal dresses--because they are left overs from the previous season, they are marked WAY down (I got my Junior Prom dress for $60--down from $230). And they are usually still in style.

Another, more risky option, get a dress at the end of this season for next year--on sale, but you have to be sure that she'll still like it and will maintain the size that she is now in a year--a little bit either way can make a dress look terrible depending on the cut.

Finally, see if you know people that have their's leftover. My Senior year, a woman my mom worked with said that she had a ton of formal dresses (she was about 10 years older than me) and I could look through them and have it for nothing! I actually found the perfect dress; too bad I can never even HOPE to fit into it again confused

So Barbie, there are a ton of options for you to not have ot shell out a whole lot, since it sounds like there will be a few formals. Or, do what my parents did--"You have a job, if you want to go all out, you can pay for it, we only have so much to spend."

Sounds like 'freecycle' would be a big help with that.

It's a group where people will list things they have and don't need anymore. Then others contact them and they pick them up. Some groups also allow users to post things they are looking for. How many times do you use a prom dress? It's not like people wear them until they fall apart. And I would imagine most people wouldn't mind giving something away like that if they know someone will get soem use out of it.

This way all those "too good to throw away, but I have no use for it" items are sent on to be useful, and many things are kept from the landfills.

I belong to two groups.
One is for the city I live in and the other, the county I live in.
They are both Yahoo groups.

Oh, my, well, Pizzas (my favorite food) Pirates of the Carribean boxed sets, Pink Mickey Mouse Balloons (I had the red one) Buzz Lightyear parts, lots of Minnie Mouse parts, Mad Hatter Hat, Donald Duck parts... so many I forget at the moment... all I know is I filled 5 boxes with parts I had not seen yet

Thank you for the compliment. To be honest, we have tried both suggestions. Marshalls never has anything that is even close to fitting her. She is a plus size junior, which I don't think they even realize is out there... And Freecycle is a good friend of mine. We had seen a dress come up that was a pretty pink thing that she really liked, but after trying it on, it fell sadly to her disliking. But I keep my eyes open for any possibilities...

See, I'm the weirdo, I prefer Epcot. But that's basically for the sheer fact that the World Showcase is there, and that's my favorite part of WDW. I will say though that the Magic Kingdom does have a lot more intersting things to do, and its WAY better if you have kids in your party--whether by age or mentality! I would have to say that, if I only had one day, I'd most likely spend it at the Magic Kingdom--although that would be a difficult desicion.
