"If we are both immortal, then why should you care if I am older? We both live against the time. And in 100 years, would it be better than it is now, bacause you would be 116, instead of just sixteen? While I would be over 200, the age difference would be the same. Why not now?"

"You have no idea..." Ryuuji murmured, going in for another kiss of the demon's youthful lips before his nostrils picked up something. "Do you smell anything burning?" he asked, moving off the demon for a moment and sniffing the air once more, green eyes narrowed in suspicion.

"You do realize you just admitted romantic feelings, don't you? I thought you were supposed to be evil?"

The faerie stuck out his tongue at the Fallen's first remark. But the second one took him aback. "Oh, well fine... If you want me to be evil, I very well can be." His voice was dropping to a lower tone. The trees and thick brush trembled. Several branches reared up out of the darkness and loomed above the Fallen. Nothing happened, they merely waited for their master's command, and hovered malevolently. "The question now, is do I, or will I?" His eyes flickered.

In truth, his heart was beating too fast as he looked up to the creature.

"Then I don't, and I won't." Said the faerie matter-of-factly with a smirk. The vines retracted with a moment's hesitation, one grazing his arm hard enough to leave a white line. "Sorry." Marik appologized. "Sometimes they get a little... hungry. It's actually been a while since they've had any blood... Hmmm... I should get Malik to give me a-deer or something." The faerie's attention went back to the Fallen. Their eyes met, and Marik saw the line of fear just fading. He smiled easily. "Relax. They're under my command." The border of fear in the Fallen's eyes slightly pleased the dark faerie.

He glanced at Bakura. "Never mind. But don't worry, they can't and won't do anything to you." Even for his human years, Marik still acted very much like a child at times.

"You confuse me- you change too fast." Angels were among the simplest and most predictable creatures- the dark faerie was far different.
