I'm in an Open/World class guard (WGI/ IHSCGA) and we didn't really have auditions. For colorguard season we did like summer practices for a parade we were in that summer and he based colorguard season off preformance there and then for winterguard he's basing of preformance during colorguard season...

nya...winterguard just started and in swarmed a flock of newbies and bandies who marched with instruments instead of flags.
So I'm not the total newb anymore.
I just joined guard before band camp, but I've been a nationally competeing rhythmic gymnast (hoop, ribbon, ball, clubs, rope, dance, and a dash on contortionism) and I've caught on quick and quickly moved of through ranks. But i'm still the newb. XDDD
I'm getting a contortionist solo for winter. Complete with rhythmic ribbon and all. XD
For mock elections...I've been voted most flexible and best dancer.

Eacha nd every game and practive we prayed that i wouldn't hurt her any more.. and i think the song was called gilligans island.. right after Beef.. It's what's for dinner".. fun times..

One year, a girl misset her flag, and took mine instead at contest!! I had no flag for the second half of the show. It was so bad.

i heart gaurd! but itz kinda sad that our band director won't let the girls do rifles and sabres - itz gay, but some of the girls and i borrowed some of the rifles anyway so we could practice for next year. the director was going to throw them away! grrrr on him, i still can't believe it... evil

OMG, sabres are sexy. XDD I love them to death. And it's kind of sad, because I don't even know how to use one yet. Stupid instructor. Hasn't taught us how. Rawr. I think he will this year though, coz we won't have as many freshman. ^^ Yei.

Aryah *nods* yep yep... we were always told, that all you have to do is say 'drill', then it's open season, baby. twisted hehee.... I nearly took out a judge once. I think I was doing a windmill or something... I promis you I would have made it hurt, and I don't care if it messed up my work. I'd get back in. 3nodding I took out one of my own guard members once, in practice. (not on purpose though, I couldn't see her. She was behind me, and actually it was both our fault sweatdrop ) at band camp i totally hit the drum instructor head on...literally in the head. we were going over a set where guard passed through drum line and he was workin with the drum. well he decides to watch the snares and walk my way not even paying attetion to the guard passing through and we did a drop spin right after we cleared them and i hit him in the head almost knocking him out and giving him a concussion. i felt so bad. the rest of marching season in practice when he be on the felid help...during that set if he saw us well mostly me comming he ran. i also ened up hittin half the drums, sometimes not even doing routine, and each of the guard and my BD while not doing routine. during a comp once i was being pused back and the girl didnt get the toss and her flag hit me and almost knocked me out.
