• Have you ever attended a professional drama performance? Which type of drama was it (play, opera, musical, dance)?
No, I have never attended a professional drama performance.
• What is the last play you read? Did you enjoy it?
I do not remember the last play I read.

• Have you ever seen a musical drama? What type of musical was it? Do you enjoy musicals?

I have seen a music drama in high school, it was a comedy drama musical. I do enjoy certain musicals but won't really go to them unless I've been recommended or know something about it beforehand.

• What is your experience with opera and ballet?

The only opera related experience I have is with the phantom of the opera play and movie. I currently have no experience with ballet and most likely won't have any in the future.

• Have you watched a film / TV adaptation of a play? Which format did you enjoy most, and why?

1. I do not believe i have ever been to a professional drama performance before. However, I've always wanted to go to a musical before never had the chance to.

2. I think the last play I read was in high school, but I don't remember it so I will assume I didn't enjoy it if I have no recollection of it.

3. Yes, I've seen many musical dramas. The one I enjoyed the most was "Into the Height." I do enjoy musicals for the way they're able to translate the sound of the music to the visuals.

4. I've never seen and opera before only seen short clips of it but for ballet my younger sister used to perform when she was around ten, so I remember watching her dance on stage.

5. Yes, I've seen many film/tv adaptations of plays. I think I enjoyed "Romeo + Juliet" the most because I liked how to take a classic play and modernized it for its times while also keeping the dialogue to its original format. I think it was executed very well.

Oh my goodness, how could I forget Romeo and Juliet? I have read it and seen the play. Have you ever seen Gnomeo & Juliet? It is a cartoon movie that serves the same purpose but everyone is a gnome. I am so jealous wicked was probably extremely good but are you talking about the live version of Aladdin? It was super good.

I have seen Gnomeo and Juliet. I love that movie. I do enjoy how it simplifies the play in a more modern twist, since the original play could be harder to interpret with the old English writing. Aladdin is one of my favorite movies, so I saw the musical on Broadway and also really liked the live action.

Unfortunately, I have never professional drama performance, but I would love to see a musical. I do not remember the last play I read. The last musical thing I saw was the High School Musical and I did like it but I felt there were too many songs almost back to back. I have no experience with opera but I did ballet in elementary school. I do not think I’ve ever watched a film or TV adaptation of a play.

Omgosh I completely forgot about High School Musical. I tried to think of everything I watched when I was making my post and it was so hard trying to remember. I liked it too! It's very cool that you did ballet in elementary. I've only seen things about ballet scrolling on tik tok or looking around on youtube when I'm trying to pass time.

Yes, several! The most recent was The Play That Goes Wrong, which was a very fun comedy with some cool technical achievements I enjoyed. I like when media uses its unique aspects to shine, and this one definitely shows off the talents of both backstage (the setbuilders and tech crew) and the actors themselves.

The last play I read was The Unwanted Guest by Tamsyn Muir (a companion piece to her ongoing book series) and it was fantastic. It's set in a character's mind, and so the choice to use a play format to illustrate how she tries to script out her life as a form of control for her own safety was really impactful.

Yes, I love musicals. I've seen The Lion King live, which was incredible. Most of the rest of my exposure is through cast recordings or bootlegs though; price makes it difficult to access a lot of live theater experiences.

I've actually seen and performed in opera (my aunt used to be a professional opera singer and then professor of opera). I have more familiarity with modern rock operas now, but it's another unique medium I really enjoy!

Yes, and often I find that there's an interesting trade-off. I think it's a positive to share the stories with a wider audience and the cinematography can really elevate the source material, but often movie actors aren't quite as talented singers if it's a musical and there's a loss of that live experience.

Yes, I have attended multiple professional drama performances. I have seen Spiderman on Broadway, which was a play, The Lion King which was another play, and I have also seen Hell’s Kitchen on Broadway which was a musical. My favorite by far was Spiderman I saw that when I was a kid

The last play that I read was Othello by Shakespeare. I read that in my high school English class, and I did very much enjoy it.

Yes, I have seen a musical drama. It was Hell’s Kitchen on Broadway which was loosely based on the life of Alicia Keys. I do enjoy musicals. I prefer to watch ones that have a deep story behind them.

I have never seen an opera or ballet performance but I have watched videos on YouTube showing them and they look interesting.

The only movie that I have seen based on a play is Romeo and Juliet. I prefer to watch plays in person because it is more engaging.

I have also seen The Lion King many years ago and it was a great play. I have been wanting to see the new play that came out because I am a huge fan as well. It's amazing how they have been making that play for years and it is still one of the best.

1) I have seen a couple of plays in my lifetime. I went to see Mamma Mia when I was very young with my grandma. Mamma Mia is one of my favorite movies; it was amazing. I also went to see The Lion King with my mom and grandma when I was around 12, I want to say.
2) I don't actually recall the last play that I read. I have never been the biggest fan of reading; watching plays stuck with me more than reading them, unfortunately.
3) I think the only musical I have ever seen was Mamma Mia. I personally loved it but maybe I'm biased because I also love the movie to this day.
4) I have no experience with opera or ballet
5) I don't think I have. The only plays I have seen have been adapted from the TV, not the other way around
