Chii

"M-Mostly that..."

She answered, smiling timidly a bit. There wasn't much to do around here to have fun, without using one's imagination.

"I like doodling, and coloring... Zuni liked playing guitar, b-but Master smashed that... there's books... and baking... or playing dress up... that's pretty much it."

She really wanted to get her paws on some clay, or fabric and materials for sewing.

"There's a balcony window to enjoy outs-side... kinda..." It was like the smallest porch known to man. Two people could barely stand or sit on it. And it was usually high up in the air, although Jun's unit was closer to the ground, as were most of the military units. The royalty's balconies were much higher up, towards the top of the castle.

"Other than those kinds of things, we just lounge around and have a break from duties."

☠『Wynter』☠

Wynter really did want to go out on that balcony, but her stomach ended up growling before she opened her mouth to reply. She was so hungry... All this surplus of food whenever she wanted was starting to make her spoiled. It was still such a strange thing, food whenever she wanted.

"Since we still have to do those b*****d's dishes, after that can you teach me how to make a meal or two? I'm kind of hungry..."

Wynter didn't care for cooking, but she figured more nights would require that of her. She felt bad leaving the poor girl to do everything just because she was behind in the house-keeping skills. As much as she despised playing housewife, she was grateful Chii wasn't like her father. She was always told to do something when she had no idea how to do it, and then punished for something she didn't do right.

Chii was everything she wished she had growing up. How did someone like her turn out so good surrounded by such awful people? What the hell would she herself grown up to be like under these conditions?

"Unless you're sick of cooking, then we can go color?"

Chii

"Sure."

Chii smiled cheerfully, happy to cook. It was the only kind of work she truly enjoyed. Everything else her masters of the past had made her do was miserable. But cooking was fun!

"Is there anything in particular you wanna cook?"

After the girls soaked in the healing water for a while, their bruises faded away, but Wynter's scar stayed dark and deep in her skin. The bunny-girl dried off with a towel, and put on something comfortable.

It didn't heal away... kind of like Zuni's eyes... Something about it just creeped her the ******** out. What was going on? It didn't make any sense. And the only person they could ask was either Jun, or a healing-magic-user. Both of those were out of the question because Master was scary, and she didn't wanna piss him off. And again she knew of no healers around here. So all she could do was wonder, and dwell on what it could mean. It was bothering her.

"Baking is a science, so it's pretty unforgiving... even one small mess up on the measuring of the ratios of ingredients, and it can ruin the whole cake, or whatever you're making... But cooking is pretty easy to start with, and very forgiving. You can make mistakes and hide them, unless it's something tougher... like if you burn something a bit, you can save it before it gets too bad, or cut off the burnt,.. or if a sauce isn't seasoned enough, you can add more later. Things like that. So it's okay if it takes a while to get the hang of it because you can edit things as you cook, if that makes sense?"

She walked to the kitchen to get started, but then she caught a whiff of the smell coming from the dining room. The stench was salty and putrid... It was the smell of death. Kent's blood was congealed all over the walls, table, and floor. It had sat there for over a day, which made it smell even saltier. And the oddest part of it all was the strong smell of alcohol in the air... and it was coming from the blood. When people consumed alcohol, and died, the alcohol remained un-digested in the blood stream... Since the booze didn't get a chance to burn off, it was instead literally mixed into the blood all over the room. So nothing but salt, beer, and death filled the oxygen they were breathing in.

Chii turned pale and ran to the kitchen to puke in the sink, but instead she just painfully dry heaved, since both the girls had gone hungry.

They couldn't possibly eat like this--They were going to have to clean this up first.

☠『Wynter』☠

"Something with rice maybe? Rice sounds so good..."

Wynter thoroughly enjoyed her time in the tub, her wrists ceasing to ache and all the other little bumps and bruises she'd racked up flailing around like she did the day before. Her gaze wandered down to the mark on her skin, unnerved that it was still there.. bold and dark as ever.

The slave tried not to look alarmed about the scar, but she couldn't keep her mind off of it. She usually welcomed scars on her body, they brought down her appeal to the freaks who liked clear creamy skin. There had to be some kind of magic laced in it, but what would be worth putting on her body with freaking magic? Ownership was a given at this point, what else was there to claim?

The slave shook her head to herself, before drying off and changing into the comfier set of clothes Chii had laid out. She still despised the dresses and skirts, longing for her pants and jackets... but this was so much better than her uniform or the skimpy dress she had to wear to the wedding.

"Er- Yeah, sounds friendly enough..." Wynter sighed on the inside. She never realized before how much went into cooking. It made sense why she never ate any cooked meals growing up. Just things ready to eat. "So what do you-"

The smell hit her nose before she even finished her sentence. Her stomach lurched at how bad it was, death was one of the worst smells she had ever had the misfortune of breathing in. In the really bad parts of the streets, it lingered, no amount of time could wash it off. She stifled a gag, covering the lower half of her face and just.. stared at the sick mess.

The slave had seen some pretty disgusting things in her life, but this carnage was too much for her to look at. She swiftly exited into the kitchen to breath better air. She coughed a few times, triggering her gag reflex as she coughed and hacked some. Not a single part of her felt bad for what happened to Kent, but God she didn't want to clean any part of that.

"How the hell do we go about dealing with that disgusting s**t-?"

Chii

It took Chii a solid fifteen minutes of dry-heaving into the sink before she could even come up with a response.

"I... I don't even..." She panted, trying to breathe. ".. know-w..."

A few more minutes went by, finally gathering herself together, besides a bit of shaky leggedness.

"W-We can't possibly... m-move him... he'll be too heavy..."

Her eyes were watering just at the thought of trying to move a dead body. But Master would be so angry at the mess being left behind, even if he's the one that made it. Chii brought her hands to her face, exhaling into them.

"It's imp-possible... we don't have a choice but wait for Master to m-move him..."

She was at a complete loss of words. How had she even forgotten about Kent being dead in here? Even with Jun distracting them with new problems, forgetting about this sick mess didn't seem possible. But somehow, she had. Maybe she hit her head too hard...

"We can clean up s-some b-b-blood... but... it will just b-be a mess again after he's moved..."

☠『Wynter』☠

All Wynter could imagine was her own body rotting like that, reeking of alcohol and death. You would think with her father being such an alcoholic she would despise it, but she found herself adopting the same habits to wash away her sorrows and anger. Maybe this would be what changed her mind on drinking herself into an early grave.

Wynter let out a deep breath, her stomach doing painful flips. She wasn't sure if she was grateful or not about the fact her stomach was empty. She would have puked the entirety of her guts out after smelling that. She leaned her body against the counter as Chii pointed out the impossibility of the situation.

"We can't leave him here another day, or longer if Jun decides to extend his nap..."

The slave didn't want anything to do with Kent's body, but she wasn't going to sit here and accept the fact there was a goddamn corpse rotting in the dining room. But Chii was right, she wasn't sure the two girls could move him at all, let alone without making a bigger mess than there already was.

"If we get a blanket under him, we could roll him up in that and move it that way? Something has to be better than leaving his disgusting a** body here to decompose."

Serves him sooo right... but goddamn this is nasty. Chii is going to have a goddamn heart attack before we get through the rest of the day-

Chii

Wynter had a point... they COULD move him with a method like that. She never would have thought of it. But the even bigger issue was...

"Wh-Where would we take him, though..?"

Chii's face paled again, her hair covering her eyes. What did they even DO with DEAD BODIES in this castle? Lots of slaves got killed by abusive masters, or down in that slave pit of a Hell... where did the bodies go? It just occurred to her that the castle MUST have had some kind of disposal system for that with how much murder happened here. A shutter ran down her spine.

Another thought that came to mind was... Kent wasn't just some petty slave no one cared about. He was apart of the royal militia. Were they going to be angry one of their soldiers was dead? Or was it okay because Jun himself murdered him? How did that work?

This was NOT something Chii EVER thought she would have to try and figure out. She didn't even want to THINK about it!!

"The only p-place in here would be dragging him to another room... and... and then he would just..." decompose, she couldn't even bring herself to say it, "...there... I-If we bring him outside, we might get in t-trouble...!" Worst yet, someone would blame them for Kent being dead and slaughter the two girls right then and there. Who would believe they didn't murder him with their own hands, either? No one trusted slaves around here. They were kind of sitting ducks without Master around.

☠『Wynter』☠

Wynter went quiet, unable to come up with an answer for that question. Chii was definitely right, she had no clue where dead bodies were brought, and they could end up killed for moving a dead soldier. She ran her hands through her hair, her bangs falling back in place after her fingers combed through them.

"Yeah... You're right. I say we just roll him up in something for now... Then we can clean the remaining mess. That has to be better than letting his body sit there like that."

Her gaze moved to the dining room entrance, her eyes then shifting to the ground. She felt queasy again, remembering how he had Chii bent over the table like that, he was going to make her watch every sick thing he did to the girl and then do them to her. She hated Jun, hated him with a burning ******** passion... but she was glad he killed Kent. It was worth cleaning this revolting mess, knowing that he couldn't come back for another round of torment. It should have been obvious, and maybe it was, but she couldn't help but ponder how someone could be so... ******** terrible.

It's dog-eat-dog in this world, snowflake. The sooner you toss out your dreams of a just world, the better off you'll be at surviving it. Pick up the knife and finish this.

Her gaze went a little dark as the memory of those words popped into her mind. The world was terrible enough, she wasn't going to be one more awful person adding to it. She wouldn't stoop down to the level of abusers and manipulators, to cold-blooded killers.

"Do we have windows we can crack open? Just to get some air flow in here..."

Chii

"Well.. the r-rug is... kinda... kinda already covered in blood... so that would work... Master can't get angry at us if it's a-already stained... I would think?"

It was stupid that the slaves were even having to think about the fact they might be the ones to get in trouble, when they didn't do a single thing wrong. But, alas, here they were. It was their lives now.

Chii helped Wynter lift the rug over to Kent's corpse, and then paused right before they went to touch him.

"E-Ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ewewewwww!" She whimpered, only touching him long enough, a mere few seconds, to roll his heavy body onto the rug. She then helped roll him up as quickly as she could, gagging at how awful he smelled and how disgusting it was they were even having to clean up a mess like this. Maids weren't meant to clean up DEAD BODIES. She didn't sign up for this...! (Not that she, or anyone, signed up for this slave business.)

As soon as he was moved to the healing pool room, she closed the door and hoped that would help with the smell. Chii still wanted to puke... She scurried around to the windows, opening every single one. Lastly, she opened the sliding glass door that went out to the balcony, which would let in a nice big breeze of fresh air. She exhaled with relief, but still sweating from having to drag a dead body all over the place.

What made her feel even more sick... was that she honestly couldn't even bring herself to grieve for Banzai. Normally she cried for even a stranger's death. But this man had been in the process of raping her when it happened. And he had been being so cruel....

Would... Would I feel that way, if Master died...? Chii felt a sharp pang in her heart. No... No matter how cruel Jun could be, she couldn't imagine his death wouldn't make her sad anyway. She cared for him. But Kent.... luckily she hadn't gotten to know him too closely...

She looked to Wynter. "I-I'm.... not hungry anymore..." She in fact kinda was, but she wanted to vomit now so badly that she couldn't even attempt to put something in her mouth. "But as soon as we're done cleaning up this mess, want to pick s-something for me to show you how to make, for dinner?"

☠『Wynter』☠

Wynter nodded in agreement with Chii's conclusion, though she wouldn't have been too shocked if Jun blamed it on them and got angry anyways. Damned if they did, and damned if they didn't. It irritated her that she was starting to grow accustomed to that, but it wasn't like she could run away at all. Wynter had started to wonder if given the chance, would she really go? Her gaze wandered to Chii.

Wynter was a selfish person, she knew that. When it came down to someone else or her, she would have chosen someone else. But when she thought about throwing Chii under the bus, or leaving her in this hell... It stabbed her heart with guilt.

The slave shook off her thoughts, and helped get Kent's body rolled up and stored in the healing pool room. She tried to hold her breath most of the way, cursing just how heavy the ******** was, especially being dead. If this was going to be a regular thing.... god she hoped the ******** not.

Once that business was taken care of... she sighed in relief and wiped the sweat off her forehead. Her little five-foot-two a** wasn't made for moving heavy s**t. Her gaze went up to Chii, looking across the room as she thought of something she'd be interested making. She didn't really feel too sorry about it, but not even a dead corpse swayed her appetite.

"Uhm..." Rice popped into her mind again. Rice balls... Rice with butter... Curry... Curry! "Can you teach me how to make curry, then?"

Wynter definitely wasn't looking forward to scrubbing Kent's nasty blood off the floor and wall, but at least she had something to look forward to after that.

Chii

Chii blinked.

It took her a couple seconds to register what Wynter had just requested, suddenly distracted from the corpse party.

Curry?

She let out a tiny giggle at the idea, knowing Wynter probably didn't know that curry was actually very complicated. It was a cluster of a ton of different preparations, and each ingredient that went into the curry was cooked separately before being combined into the thick stew. Plus, making the base sauce was a very fine art. And making it literally took all day. And there were many different kinds. Reseria's curry was hot and spicy. Aquaria's curry was more of an asian form, that was usually served mild with lots of veggies in the sauce. She personally didn't handle Reseria's curry very well, as it's based was mostly hot desert peppers and other dry ingredients. Master loved it, though.

So, none the less, answering Wynter's request was actually insanely complicated. The naivety of it reminded her that she was older than the other slave--usually Wynter seemed more serious than her. The innocent teenager had no idea what she was about to get into, starting off her cooking career by making a really hard dish. But, it was cute and charming, and brought Chii back to innocent times.

The chimera nodded, "Yeah, of course!" And left it at that. It would be fun to spend their day off just goofing around in the kitchen.

Chii was quickly brought back to reality as they dreadfully had to clean up all the blood. It killed her appetite again. She stared down at the disaster, trying to figure out where to start. Usually she knew... but this was... this was just...

Her cat ear twitched, hearing a knock at the door. Her heart sank into her stomach as fear washed over her at the idea of someone seeing this horror show.

OH <********> -- WHO WAS THAT?

☠『Wynter』☠

Wynter had a confused expression, maybe even a tiny bit of a pout at Chii's little giggle. What was so funny about curry? Did she ask something silly? The slave felt her cheeks burn a bit...

Wynter had only had curry once, actually. She had a friend when she was younger, as silly as that sounded since she wasn't the friend-type, who had her mother make her some. They were a bigger family, still super poor, but able to feed themselves. There was extra that night, and luckily Wynter caught the door before her friend had to witness the drunken wrath of the man who she called father. She ate the whole bowl after her friend left, and nearly threw it back up in the process. The spice was so amazing... Anything spicy was sooo goood.

Wynter actually smiled a little.

"Alright... Thanks Chii."

Unfortunately that smile was short lived. She too stared over at the gore decorating the dining room, feeling her stomach twist and turn. It still smelled so awful in here... She glanced over at Chii, who seemed at as much of a loss as she was on what to start with.

Before the slave could try to help figure out a game plan, she nearly jumped out of her skin at the knock on the door. All the color drained from her face. This was sooo not good- What the ******** were they supposed to say about the rancid smell and the fact there was a DEAD BODY in the healing pool room?? She bit her bottom lip, hard.

"What the ******** do we do about THAT?" Wynter whisper-yelled at the chimera, looking back and forth between the direction of the door and the bloody mess everywhere.

They were FUUUUUUCKED.

Chii

Chii didn't even know what to say, the poor thing just kept shaking her head in sheer panic.

"I-I don't know I don't know I don't knoooow....!" She squeaked out in a whisper, her knees quivering. What SHOULD they do?! If they answered it, someone was definitely going to see this mess. The smell itself was more than enough to get someone's attention. But... if they ignored the door... it might make things even worse? Most people who came to Jun's door knew he had a slave, or two, who's job it was to attend to tasks like answering the door. If they didn't, it was bound to set off alarm bells.

The chimera didn't even have time to think--still in a panic, she nervously opened the door just a crack to see who it was.

"H-H-Hello?"

A small creature blinked up at her with big two-toned eyes, nearly making her jump out of her skin again. What was THAT?! It was the most in-human like human thing she had ever seen, not that she wasn't weird herself. Everything about it was unnatural. It's skin was light pink, it had horns and a tail. It's--Her hair was colored like it had been painted by the galaxy, tied up in two twintails. She was about Wynter's height, and wearing a cute little maid's dress. What really alarmed Chii was the little boots the pink girl was wearing... did she... did she have HOOVES?!

If this thing wasn't pastel pink, it would have looked like a monster. A creature straight out of HELL.

Her eyes were wide, squeaking once and freezing still. Chii wanted to slam the door shut before the smell of decay could leak out of the crack in the door, but then it started talking.

The hooved girl waved her hand excitedly, smiling up at the tall, skinny chimera. "Hiii~! I'yam Nifty~! Daddy sent me!"

"Umn... h-hi, Nifty... I-I'm Chii... umn... D-D-Daddy....?" Uuuh, what?

She nodded, as if it was obvious who that was. "He said you guys made a reeeaaaaaaal big mess, and I should come help clean it up!"

Chii glanced back at Wynter, looking completely confused as all hell. Who was this 'daddy'? How did he know they had some kind of mess? What was this thing? Why was she going to help them? What?!

"Well, aren't you going to invite me in, silly? Us slaves are supposed to stick together!" The little tiefling scampered past the older slave, who was still stunned in confusion. Her eyes glanced over all the blood on the floor, and landed right on Wynter. She waved at her, somehow not distracted by the gooey mess or the horrid smell.

"Hiiiii~! I'yam Nifty~!"

(( Nifty got a bit of a make-overrr ))

☠『Wynter』☠

Wynter grimaced when Chii went to go answer the door. It wasn't like they could ignore them, but maybe they could... just tell whoever it was that Jun was sleeping-? Which he WAS, they wouldn't be lying... But of course it smelled so awful that it would make their excuse seem REALLY bad. She inched towards the door after Chii opened it, ready to back Chii up if there was... trouble.

At first, she couldn't really even see who was at the door over Chii's height and the other girl's smallness. Whoever it was, it didn't sound male or authoritative. She raised an eyebrow at Chii, overhearing the girl's high voice. Her eyes went wide when whoever it was said they were sent by their 'Daddy'. SOMEONE SENT A DAMN CHILD OVER HERE?

When Nifty welcomed herself in, she couldn't help recoil as she did a double take at... whatever she was. There were sooo many questions she had, and it didn't look like Chii was any more enlightened than she was. The slave flinched a bit when the creature actually talked to her.

WHAT THE ACTUAL ******** wasn't sure what was more unnerving, the girl's appearance in general, or the fact that she was totally unphased by the putrid scent and gore decorating the floor and wall. Was she blind? Did her nose just not work??

"What the hell are you?" The rude question slipped before she could reel it back in. She winced at herself, before saying something else. "I mean- Erm- Why exactly were you sent to help?"

The girl didn't look that old- Or talked like she was either. Even if she looked reaaallly weird, she had a very kawaii aesthetic. Why would someone send her over to help with this? Who even knew about it besides the girls and Jun himself??

Wynter paled. Did anyone else know?

Nifty giggled.

"I'm a tiefling!"

Everyone always asked her that. Anyone who wasn't a human, or an elf in this world stood out. And if you lived in Reseria, and weren't an elf, you were most likely a slave or a grunt in the army. Reseria was also known for it's ******** up genetic experiments--Chimeras. Jun, Kent, and Chii qualified as those, since they were humans/elves that had been infused with animal DNA and gave them freakish characteristics. Chii had her ears and tails that she could morph at will, Jun had his weird earthly dragon-like powers, and Kent had been.... well, Kent. The perverted hyena. Good thing he was dead, he sucked.

The tiefling, however, really stood out. Her skin wasn't a very natural humanic tone, she did not have normal feet, and she looked like a little demon straight out of an anime lolita cosplay shop. People were always perplexed by her, and most people had absolutely no ******** idea what race she could possibly be. Even the very-intelligent Aquarian elves were often stumped by her appearance. But to Nifty, she was completely normal.

She smiled innocently at Wynter, which was strange just how genuine it was considering all the blood everywhere.

"Daddy works with your master. He smelled the blood aaaaaaaall daaaaay long. He told me to come help clean it up and he will come get the body later. Unless Jun-sama is going to eat it?"

Chii suddenly looked horrified, caught off guard. WHAT?!

"Well, if he isn't, Daddy said he wants it for research." She stressed the word 'research', as if it was very important.

She didn't think she could get anymore horrified the last two days, but somehow it was getting worse. Master EATING a body? Using a body for research?! This all sounded terrible! Plus Master wouldn't really do that, would he? And what research could someone need to do on a dead body? And were her and Wynter in trouble?! How did her and this 'daddy' know they had a dead body besides the smell?

"Aaa... umn... N-Nifty... who exactly is your... daddy...?" Chii looked as though she might feint again. It was clear to anyone around she was probably taking this child-like creature way too seriously, as she was clearly starting to sweat about this.

"Daddy is the castle's doctor! Mommy used to live here, but now she's Daddy's cuz your master threw her away like trash. He's very happy about that. So he said to come help you! So you don't get in trouble from all the bad smell stuff. All the icky stuff is supposed to go down into the basement. The royal peoples are gunna get real mad if they notice the mess up here!"

Oh. OH.

Chii's eyes were wide. That was... quite the info dump, especially with how vague Nifty had been being until now. Wait... Zuni's new master was that man she had seen with her at the wedding earlier? She had totally forgotten how many times she had met that doctor in passing, while she was growing up as a slave. Most people did not have healing water like Jun did, so whenever her masters had beaten her too badly, a nurse or that doctor had to tend to her in the castle's infirmary. Sometimes he did physicals on the slaves, too. But most of his patients were the royals of the castle, since he was the most knowledgeable doctor in the country. But to be perfectly honest... that man just flat out gave her the creeps.... kind of the way Kent did...

"O-Oh... uuh... ok-kay... thank you... but... I'm not really sure how you could help us-s..."

"I clean up blood for Daddy all the time!"

Was it just her, or was this child starting to creep her out, too? What in God's name did that doctor do to this poor thing? Her face continued to pale, at a loss of words at this point. There really was no way to handle this situation, was there? Chii was supposed to be the oldest, and know how to mother the younger slaves. But her little brain couldn't fathom how to direct any of.... THIS. She wished Master would wake up, he would know what to say or do....

Nifty tilted her head at Chii, wondering why the woman looked so... stumped. Did she say something wrong? She looked at Wynter again, finally, since Chii seemed to be done talking to her.

"What's your name? I like your hair, it's pretty!" She paused, looking down at the blood to see how much they had to clean, "Oh yeaaa, who died again?"
