"I suppose that's true. And I guess Iron Man at least works with what he has on hand. It might be cooler to make them work with almost nothing and see what they could do then," Lin said thoughtfully. "Make them work with just their brains and their hands." "I don't know what ours is either." Lin prodded the earring that was Anax. "I don't do a lot of fighting."

"Suns and Moons use it a lot but I think it's for everyone." Micah glanced over at the whiteboard, realizing that they were getting sort of off topic, but at the same time, he didn't really care. They were having a good conversation. "We got a power, but it sucks, it mostly only hurts us," he grumbled. Hey! Nova protested.

Merric smiled a little.
"I'm - well, we're not supposed to be speaking of it, but I'm a Life Hunter," said Merric. "So I spend a lot of time in the labs - uh, but yes, this is I suppose getting off topic just a bit, but we're still sort of in the same vein of things what with super powers and all that."
He glanced over at the whiteboard as well, an instinctive gesture.
"Is it considered a power to have these....things in our heads, do you think?"

"TIME'S UP!" Nash yelled over the din of people talking. "THIRD ROUND STARTS IN FIVE!" GOOGLE DOC OF INFO( click for player names )Quote: Each pairing is put together with care and consideration. Nash seems to be thoroughly enjoying himself, standing at the front desk and switching names around. His brother October is leaning idly against the same desk, arms folded across his chest, looking as sleepy as ever. Neither seems to be participating this round, only instigating.
This time, something else seems to have been given out along with a new name - a little bag of heart shaped cookies for each pairing to share. They taste of cinnamon and nutmeg, something sweet but not overpowering, and dusted lightly with sugar, and the bags are tied with red ribbons.
"Enjoy!" says Nash cheerily.
FOR THIS ROUND:
The theme is wishes. Nash wants everyone to talk about something they're hopeful for, a childhood wish, an adult wish, something that you wish would happen, something you wish wouldn't happen. Something, anything, whatever it is. It's a pretty broad topic, which Nash seems to be okay with.
YOU MAY NOT:
- proposition your partner ( still )
- touch them innapropriately
- talk about anything that can be answered with either "yes" or "no" Quote: OOC NOTES:
Each round is ICly ten minutes with your partner
Please read the special ~prompt~ Nash has given all of you on the first page!
Speed dating is known for being a quick, fast thing where people don't get to finish conversations because of time constraints, so just gently move on and have fun!
Your character has already physically been moved to find their new partner! This means that they shouldn't be looking for them, Nash has already gone around the room and put everyone together and done the basics of introduction (names, etc)!
If you haven't posted yet, that's fine, just hop on in!
This second round will end Sunday, October 1st, at 11:59 PM EST.
If you have any questions, please just ping me!

Seren bit her lip a little, suddenly faced with two men, one she'd met before and one she hadn't. She hadn't at all expected to be in a trio, but she decided she'd make the best of the potentially awkward situation. She looked at the cookies, and finally pulled one out to nibble a little, deciding how to respond to this odd little prompt of Nash's. Wishes were not her favorite game, because wishes tended to be a great well of future sadness when they never came true. Still, time to play along with this game. Her eyes focused on the two people, and she finally said "Mmmm a wish....? I think, right now at least, if I could have one wish granted, it would be to know how my brother that I left back home is doing." Not the only wish she might want, but the easiest one for her to deal with, at least. "What about you gentlemen?" Her blue eyes glanced back and forth between the two men, curious and bright.

"That would be pretty cool" Kammy replied. "They should make a movie about that. And yeah, I haven't done much fighting either. Haven't had much of a chance." And then it was time to swap partners. This time Kammy was moved to someone else, a guy this time, and given a bag of cookies. "Woah, cool. Thanks." She opened the bag and offered it to her new partner. "Want the first stat boost?" It was then she remembered to look at the little paper that said what she should talk about, which she conveniently forgot about last round. Her movements were flustered, pulling out the paper from a pocket and nearly dropping it a few times. "Oh crap. Um, wishes. Yeah um, I wish I knew what I was doing." At least she was being truthful.

Melvin waved goodbye to Kade and soon settled before a very familiar face.
"I wish I knew what brought you here tonight." Melvin said, dodging the Wish question.
"A number 2 to tango?"

“It was fun meeting you Lysander.” Sid gave a friendly wave as the bell for the round sounded and he was ushered off to the next date. Making himself as comfortable as he could with pulling his knees to his chest he offered up a friendly smile to Inoke. Again, not a familiar face but again it was no surprise. Not waiting for silence to settle, Sid pulled off his hat and ran his fingers through his hair. “So wishes… I wish I was at Promenade des Anglais with a drink in my hand and the perfect view for this speed dating event.”

On a while Zeke was actually being fairly nice to everyone he'd met so far. A little baiting, a little prodding, but not his usual relentless digging. He wasn't sure why he was going with a more restrained approach, but he had to admit the idea of making a scene in the middle of a large want very appealing. So Jenna, or Kammy, would find herself faced with a tall man wearing a benign, friendly sort of smile that was just this side of mischievous. He'd take one of the offered cookies, but didn't bring it up for a bite just yet. "You're meeting people, of course." The smile lucked up a notch. "I wish they would have been an open bar, or at the very least refreshments." Ah well. Soleil made a fairly obvious sweep of both men she'd found herself faced with, and then grinned at the pair of them. "I wish the rules were a little less restrictive."

A bar huh? Kammy wouldn't mind a drink about now. A nice strong drink and perhaps a quiet room she could spend a few weeks in. Too much talking to strangers was tiring. "Yeah, meeting people." She nibbled on the end of a cookie. "Pretty interesting. Theres lots of um, interesting people here. Intriguing stats and like um, cool characteristics." She gestured widely as her brain scrambled to come up with a topic. 'Help' < Ask him about his...drinking preferences? > Good enough. "What kind of drinks you like?"

As Ever settled down with the pair of them, he looked just faintly bemused. His eyes lingered on Seren, trying to decide if he should warn her that they weren't going anywhere but -- well, this was just for fun, then. Instead he shrugged a little, stretching out his legs and flashing the both of them a quick smile. "I have a sister. I think my wish is that she not end up here." It could have been deep, but instead he sounded a bit cheerful about it. "And that she's at college. Or, uh, med school by now, maybe..."

His next partner was -- Vash hesitated, not sitting for a long moment after he'd spotted Melvin. In that beat, he wasn't quite sure if he should be happy it was a familiar face, or slightly concerned by who that face belonged to. In the end he settled, at least, hugging knees in against his chest and frowning just faintly at Melvin. Nothing personal; that was kind of just his face. "What do you wish for, then?" But his tone was dubious. Maybe he didn't want to know."

He considered it a moment seriously. "To have not hurt the people I did when I couldn't accept the truth."
He didn't elaborate on that. "Wishes are a cruel hope. It's usually for things you can either never attain or don't want to work hard enough to get. It's easy. A comforting thought to dream about."
"A wish is a pincess singing to birds hoping for a prince." He sighed and looked over at him.

Lysander this time was quick at moving on to the next person, not out of rudeness to his initial companion - whose conversation he was enjoying immensely - but simply out of fear of missing out with the next the way he had the first time.
"Thank you very much." he said brightly before snagging himself some cookies and sitting back down again with a badge to wait on his partner.
He had no intention of sharing the cookies, already devouring them like he was starving.

She was a little bummed that the time ran out before Fred got to answer her question, but it wasn't that big a deal. Before she got up to be shuffled around again she gave him a little wave and a quick, "See ya later, maybe," then let Nash take her to whoever she was supposed to be partnered with next.
This time happened to be with a handsome type ginger, and truth be told she probably stared a little too hard at his hair while introductions were being made. When they were finally left alone she snapped to and gave her usual bright smile.
"Most of the things I hope for involve my family," she said, the brightness in her smile fading slightly. "It's all kinda dramatic so I'd rather not list everything, but yeah."
