Tunnel - Escaping

There was only so much jovial game music that Kyle could put up with through the headset without losing his temper at how distracting it was while the Sun was trying to concentrate on finding his way through the tunnel with Matt without triggering some other trap that could get the both of them killed. A minute was fine. Two minutes was kind of stretching his patience. But five freaking minutes?

"God dammit Mark! What the hell are you doing over there?"

Almost as if in response to his outburst, Mark's voice was back on the headset again and telling them to abort the mission. "s**t..." Tightening his grip on Matt's hand, he went along with the older Moon hunter, trying to keep up as best as he could as they tried to retrace their steps all the way back to the cave entrance.

Nearly there now. The portal was right up that way and would take them back to Deus, out of this blasted place. The Sun kept telling himself over and over, not realizing the impending danger from the rocks that rained down from above until Matt shoved him aside at the last moment to keep him out of harm's way.

"Matt..?"

For a moment, Kyle just stood his ground and stared at the pile of rocks where Matt was mere moments ago.

Is he...?

"Noooooo... Matt are you alright? Talk to me..."

Flying into a panic, he rushed forward, paying no heed to the buzzing swarm of locusts that descended upon him from behind as he focused his efforts on digging out the Moon hunter from beneath the pile of rocks.

[PRISON] - waiting to make sure everyone leaves the cells.

Kimberly was standing at the door to the prison watching. She was not going to make a run for it until she ensured that the room was empty. There was no way she was going to leave anyone behind. "Move your asses.."

Kimberly took a deep breath and tried to keep herself calm, she knew she could run fast enough but if someone stayed, if someone couldn't make it she would be heart broken. Particularly if it was someone she cared about.

Tunnels: Shu's Exit Point

Dwight shook under Shu's gentle embrace, for a moment he seemed ready to rattle himself to pieces, but then Mimsy was there and despair turned into a ridiculously hopeful look. "Mimsy..." he scrabbled at this chest, energy dredging itself up in a frantic burst. He held out a pendant, a key hanging down next to it.

"She's my sister...a clone of her, she..."

There's a nearby echo in the tunnels. Mark's voice and then...Rep.

The Life tech jolted forward to press them into Mimsy's hands, "She won't be able to move for another ten, fifteen minutes. The pendant goes to an offbase safehouse, it should work once you're out of these tunnels. The key will lock the cell. Please, I need to find her and I can't if they're all here or on the island. Please. "

"Charmeleon." Rep said automatically, before realising they'd ended up almost stumbling onto Dwight and looking horrified about this fact, he'd been wandering aimlessly and aimless wandering had brought him to his nemesis.

He hung back as Mark addressed Shu and crossed his arms looking uncomfortable about all of it, hoping Dwight hadn't actually noticed he was there.

[ ESCAPING DISSECTION ROOM ]

Of all the available people around her, Caroline had not anticipated that Mimsy would be the first to try to comfort her. She tried not to think too far into it, and lifted her head just as Mimsy was very adamantly planning to go rescue someone else.

For the first time in the entirety of the girl's life, she looked at her most terrifying daughter and thought with sincerity that she was nice, and kind, and sweet.

Which was around the same time that the 'child' she'd always thought was nice, kind, and sweet took her hands. She tried not to flinch away from him, but did anyway, then struggled to avoid crying over the fact that she'd flinched. 'This is Liam. This is Liam', she inwardly repeated to herself, fighting the mental image of the shadow monster that had just been in his place.

"No," she responded to his question, followed up with an anxious laugh. Her hands shook as she tightly clutched his, and with substantial effort, she managed to stand on her own. "But I will be. Gonna--I'll need double therapy."

It was meant to be a joke, but wasn't really.

With a nod in approval to getting out, she did a cursory scan of those left in the room, hesitating over Lucky and the motionless body of Lawr's victim.

"One sec." She gave Liam a pat on the arm and turned on the voice capabilities of her headset again.

"Hey! Hey--anyone--Lawrence killed a guy here. This is--I told you, murderers didn't belong in the bakery." First priority, obviously - then on to the second. "Big guy. Needs rescue. Off to one side, room with--uh, there's jars and parts of bodies. Don't mess with--just leave the moths alone. But help him."

That left everything neatly tied up, excepting Lucky; she reached for him on their way out, tugging for him to go, before leaning on Liam for support. Every few steps she took were as unstable as she looked.

People were talking about some big, toothy creature swallowing up the caves that they were in, and that conjured only one image to mind. She narrowed her eyes, waiting a moment until she heard Mark's voice again, slowly beginning to swat a growing number of insects away.

"Mark? You still okay? s**t, Mark--did you put us in a Sarlacc pit."

HP: 30/40

Melvin was all for helping people, but he was caught in a spot when the murderer they mentioned was Lawr of all people. There was no way he would do that here - would he? He didn't know he would even bother coming to a rescue mission in the first place.

"Just...I - I need to check to see if my friend is okay." He told Joy, his brows creasing with guilt and worry. "I need to be sure."

"Lawr. Are you there? Are you okay?" He called out, waiting for any sign the man might be alive.

[PRISON] Escape pt 1 (Kimberly and Prison clone)

Kimberly waited patiently until Ace had his a** in gear and finally followed behind. She scooped up one of the last clones, one that was still saying it was her fault and tried to bring it too, at least it was just being annoying now. Even burdened by two others Ace seemed to have an easier time of it than her, but that may have had to do with the skittering sound she heard following behind her. Something about it was familiar.

"What the hell is t--- Ahhhh!" So huge.. so freaking huge... The large scorpion was following her. Ace had two people in his arms, she couldn't let it catch up to him. Not when he was burdened, there was nothing doing but to fight it off somehow. Putting the clone down she set to work. Sad to say fighting off a giant scorpion was an unfair battle. It kind of tossed her about like she was a toy, but at least when she last looked back Ace was long gone.


Not before taking a selfie with it though, cause well why not, who would believe that something THIS big existed.

It is clear now that was something she should not have done. Just as she did that the giant thing whipped it's stinger at her, striking her hard in the hip and sending her flying into a wall.

For a moment all was dark, and she was sure she passed out, then as she came to, the giant thing was gone. "Heh, didn't like playing with a broken toy.." She staggered to her feet picking up the body, feeling she needed it for some reason and swaying as if badly drunk, made her way down the corridor... what one though? Her head was spinning, the wall seemed to keep moving.

She kept trudging along, not sure where she was going or why, just moving because she knew she had to. It seemed like eons, it may have been for all she knew but she finally reached what looked like an exit. What now? She stood in place for a time just holding the girl on her shoulders.
