Zayana - Post 4Zayana looked to her sister, still uncertain about the idea of splitting into two groups. Even with the Mystic insisting they would be safe, Zayana had her doubts about splitting up. Together they were strong. If they split, they would be weak and susceptible to attack. But maybe they wouldn't be attacked. If they kept their hoods up, they'd be safe...right?
Taking a breath, Zayana decided to trust her mystic.
"Right, if you wish, we will fetch what you need, Nivalis. We just need to make sure we have a time and a place to meet...in case something happens..."

Carminer
As the day wore on, more and more customers came to test out Carminer's Wine. Their sales were up, and word was spreading about his wine. His sister was excited, his brothers proud, and he couldn't be happier. For every wine cask he sold, he took a few swigs for himself. And with the heat and his activity, he was finding himself a bit loose.
"Come on, now, the fun is starting to begin! Stop by and get some of the best Sauti Wine before the evening begins! You won't be able to say no, so why resist!"
He laughed a bit, loud even with the dull roar of conversation, and he grinned at each who passed by.

The air was filled with the smell of spices, meats, and just a strange sense of unknown. During the day, the vendors were in sections based on location and trade, but at night there were no restrictions. Matori dishes simmered next to Zenian stews. The smells that wafted into the night air were nothing less than mouthwatering, and naturally the area filled with bodies as attendees followed the call of their stomachs. Together, Enki and Antiope settled near the outskirts of the area, their hands occupied with toasted maglardilla on a stick. Antiope was already familiar with the meal, and heartily ate it with a smile. Enki, on the other hand, seemed keen to just nibble every so often.
"Why don't you rest your eyes for a bit, Enki. The night is cool, the food is fine, and everyone seems in a good mood. I don't think anything will happen for the rest of the night except for maybe dancing once the drinks are passed around."
Enki simply huffed, his eyes looking into the distance where the sky grew dark. The sun was setting on the lands of Tendaji, and the darkness seemed to grow from where he knew the sea to lie. However, something strange was growing in the distance, a cloud of sorts, and after a long moment of study the brash man dropped his food and quickly darted to a stack of crates to get a better view. The fires of the land were hot and bright, and Enki had to narrow his eyes a moment to capture exactly what seemed to appear on the distance.
It looked...like a moving cloud of smoke.
Antiope, for all her talk, was silent as she watched Enki, before she too looked out into the darkening distance. Others noticed their behavior, and while some passed it off, Vescillea appeared from the masses to quickly make work of what the man was doing. With eyes sharper than most thanks to her training in the ranged arts, she sucked in a breath and began to reach for her bow.
"Enki. Antiope." Vescillea hissed out suddenly, "Do you see that? The smoke...it looks to be a flying beast from the east."
Antiope shivered a moment. Of all the elders and council members, she prided herself on being the most traveled and open to exploration. As a result, she made sure to learn all she could about Yael, the island to the south. She knew their people, their lands, and of course their stories.
"Vryhx." The shifter woman gasped out on her own, eyes wide as both of her companions turned slowly, Enki with furrowed brows and Vescillea growing pale.
"The fire beasts from the cursed island?" Vescillea responded with skepticism, but turned her eyes back to the shape in the dark sky. They were growing closer, and seemed to finally catch the dying sunlight. The smoke flashed red, as if an explosion of fire struck out from the center. Vescillea moved to grab an arrow, before nodding once.
"Gather the marksmen. Bring them to the east of the camp. If we cannot drive it off within range, I fear we may need to call arms and evacuate."
To the side, murmurs filled the crowd, most now having seen the smoke approaching closer and closer. A few children rushed off, crying for their parents. All three could see panic would most likely spread, which meant they needed to work fast.
"I'll find Enlil." Enki offered, nodding to the two before jumping down from his perch and walking into the masses.
Antiope hesitated, "I'll spread the word to keep the calm, and make sure any archers on my end are ready and prepared."
She too wandered away, but not too far. Easily passing the word to one she trusted, she returned to Vescillea's side, eyes trained to the dark mass as both began to make way to what would become their new front lines.

Faamy 3
By now, the light-hearted rogue had a bit of a wobble to her step. She took exaggerated care to stay upright, smiling at everyone she passed. What fun this was!
Seeing a few people pointing to the sky, she turned and squinted at the approaching cloud. With the spark of red, she smiled brightly. "Oooh! Fireworks!" Frowning just slightly, she cocked her head along with a brow. "Kinda early, ain't it?"

Rhonann 3
Despite her efforts, Rho was no better informed that evening than she had been that morning. No one knew where her prey was. Now she was stalking around frustrated. What was the point of this gathering if no one knew anything? Honestly!
Hearing children suddenly crying, and a murmur of concern taking over the fun chatter, she turned to see what the commotion was. At first, she only stared at the strange cloud in the distance. It was moving quite fast...
Seeing people with arrows gathering, she hurried to follow after and join them. She had no idea what the cloud was, or why it was so freaky, but she couldn't just run away when others were clearly preparing for a fight.

Shea Post 5 When she brought her arms up and he saw the muscle tone hiding in them he wanted to visibly wince. What in the everliving name of the spirits was with this girl? Her hair was gone! She had arms like a boys! Shea closed his eyes and shook his head for a moment before he opened them again. Alright, so she hadn't seen Ziel. That much was clear since she obviously thought she was the only one that looked as she did. Something that the leaf male wanted to rub in her face but he decided against. Instead she provided him with a subject change as she asked if he knew where he could get some weapons.
A single brow lifted and he nodded his head. "Yeah, though I guess it depends on what you're looking for." His shoulders lifted up a small degree before he pointed to a stall not too far from where they were that had a bunch of people standing in front of it. "Fearne sells the best bows in Northern Tale. My parents used to buy his bows all the time." Shea only knew that that was his stall because of the craftsmanship hanging from the posts. One looked similar to the old bow he used to have when he was younger. "He has a sister that makes swords but you'd have to ask him where her shop is." Those were the only weapons he could point her toward though. He had no interest in the others. So if she was looking for a spear or anything like that she was on her own.
As their conversation, if it could be called that, continued on Shea took note of a commotion. It looked like one of the leaders for the Talean people was giving instructions and looking for his brother. It made him squint a little as though that would somehow help him hear better. It made him feel a little on edge but was it enough to make him start panicking? Did he need to worry that if his cousins were here they were in danger? Perhaps it was a contained incident? A brawl of sorts? Shea hadn't noticed anything else out of place as yet.

Ouen: 4
He rolled her eyes at her taunt about having 'run off' -- so what if he had? Sometimes, you just needed to run off. Anyhow, she hadn't gone back to her family after Talin left, and wasn't that sort of like running off, too?
They stood close to feel the fur on the embroidered blanket, Kalli immediately taking a liking to it as much as he did. The stall owner, a handsome young wind earthling, approached them with a hopeful smile. Ouen was pretty sure that this particular item cost a pretty penny... and his suspicions were confirmed when they were told the price. For that much money, they could probably buy that big Oban bed he'd teased her about! But they weren't shopping for a bed, they were shopping for a blanket worthy of them and their child. This was clearly the right one... all he had to do was bargain.
Before he could open his mouth to make a counter-offer, however, he heard some commotion from further up among the stalls. It was gathering dark now, and hard to see quite what was going on.... except perhaps for the fact that some folks were peering up at the sky and pointing.
"What's goin' on there?"

Neryssa Post 3Pursing her lips a bit at her sister, eyes narrowing for a moment as they moved on to get something to eat. Pausing as Nadiya stepped off to pick up something from one of the many food vendors. Ka-bobs it seems were what was on the menu at this time. It was something she had yet to really try. Taking one from her sister, Neryssa sniffed at it before looking at Nadiya. "If I had someone else make the outfit, I suppose that would be alright, but it seems more special if you make it yourself. That and you can get it to what you want to be without arguing with someone else on presentation." Neryssa pointed out before tugging a meaty chunk off the end of her ka-bob. "I just have to practice more at least, I can try small things for now."As she ate, Neryssa looked around the market as things seemed to pick up intently. So much was going on and so much to get into. Even the sounds of music was making her slippered feet tap along the day was turning out to be a fun one. Finishing her ka-bob, She licked at her fingers in a means of cleaning them before wiping them on her shorts. "That wasn't too bad, now, lets find those vendors that sell material and other trinkets. Think mom would like a necklace from here?"

Juno: 3
"Perfect." Juno grinned, glad for the help. With the two of them it would take a fraction of the time -- it wasn't just a matter of being able to carry twice as many at a time, but also the added efficiencies that came from not having to pull down, stack and maneuver all the kegs around by himself.
"Not far -- just over to that stall. But I gotta get 'em all over there in time for the evening rush, and that doesn't leave me much wriggle room. C'mon, if we finish fast enough, I'll buy you some dinner to go with that ale. Deal?"
Working together, they managed to move all the kegs from Juno's wagon to the brewery's stall before it got too dark to see by. It was perfect timing -- all the market-goers were now on the lookout for food, and it seemed like business at the stand was going briskly. Fortunately, Juno's work was done -- his job was supply, not bartending. He jostled past those unfortunate souls just long enough to pour two tankards of beer, one of which he passed to the young man who had helped him.
"Thanks. You hungry? I think it's about time to -- "
Three archers pushed past them, shouting for others with bows and arrows to follow them. They disappeared around the corner, leaving the crowd disconcerted and confused.
" -- what was that about?"

Lixes - Post 5 The afternoon was spent with the two brothers and 'Bitty' had wandered around from place to place, seeking out 'pretty' things for Drexl's princess. It was hard to figure out exactly what it was that he might like since Lixes didn't spend nearly enough time with the pretty boy compared to Drexl. On top of that they had a skewed idea of what was pretty and what he might want, so it meant a lot of wandering around. From time to time Lixes would pause to pick something up, showing it off to Drexl, before they wandered again. Here and there Lixes would stop to get some food that looked interesting, finding that one could find food from all over the world all in this market place. He got stuff for Drexl and himself, often times sharing bites with Bitty if Drexl thought it was something that the little limbara whelp could eat. It was for the most part a fun day but not terribly noteworthy... at least until some archers went passed them. It was a curiosity for him, making him wondering what was up. Were they doing a contest or something? Now that was something that could be fun to watch. "Hey Drexl, do you want to..." He trailed off again as another of the archers went by and this time he took int he expression on the man's face. He looked too serious to be going to some contest, didn't he? Was something going on? Someone starting a fight, perhaps? He glanced toward his brother before motioning to him, "Come on, Drexl! Let's go see what's up!" He said before he hurried after the archers, wanting to see what it was that was going on. The serious look on that archer's face had him very curious and given his desire to be a Hero he had to give chase! Maybe they could help out, that would be fun!

Rishima - Post 5 Rishima's antennae gave a little twitch as Gerraden said that he was glad to hear what he'd said. He turned to look his way, head tilting to one side, "Huh?" It was something that he'd been meaning to ask about but things kept getting in the way? That was actually surprising as he hadn't expected him to be thinking about such things as well. He was so young so he hadn't really thought he would think about children. He found himself giving a little bit of a smile, "Is that so?" "Ahh... well... it wasn't that I considered that it was too soon it's just... I didn't know if you would be interested in such things since you are younger then I am. I worried that maybe you felt that you were too young to worry about kids so I didn't want to bother you with such things." He admitted to him. It was definitely something to talk about now that the subject seemed to be open for discussion. Giving a smile he opened his mouth, about to say more when suddenly something in the distance caught his eye. He turned toward that direction, eyes narrowing on the sky a little as he inspected what looked like a dark cloud and something moving within it. His antennae gave a rapid twitch as he stepped closer to Gerraden, partly in front of the younger man, before he realized that he was unarmed. He blinked slowly, lifting his empty hand to stare at it, before he murmured to himself and to Gerraden in a worried manner, "Ahh... I don't have a weapon..." What if whatever was up there was a real threat? It meant that he wouldn't be able to do much unless he found a temporary weapon. He turned to look at Gerraden, "What do you want to do?" A part of him wanted to retreat, to keep the two of them safe... but then again Jerarda's children were out there somewhere. Maybe they should to wait and watch? See what was going on and if there was really a threat then they could find the triplets and make sure they were alright.

Makani - Post 5 Makani couldn't help but to laugh as Sin'qua said that she would 'strike down' anyone that dared touch him. He couldn't help but to smile brightly before he said, "Thank you for protecting my honor, Sin'qua, it means a lot to me." It was a bit funny to think that she would be out for blood when it came to someone coming after him while he was in a more vulnerable state. Cute and touching, making him for a moment lean over to rest his head against her shoulder. As he rested there he listed as she explained about her writing and him being the main character. Curiously, and merely in jest, he found himself asking of her in a teasing, sing-song voice, "So... does this based on me character wear any clothing in these stories of yours?" If only he could see her face as he asked the question he thought to himself, actually a bit miffed at his lack of sight in this one moment. As he waited for the answer he heard voice nearby, those exchanging hushed whispers, that had him lifting his head so he could tilt an ear toward the voices. They were gathering archers? Why was that? What was going on? Turning his attention back to Sin'qua he asked, "Can you see anything odd going on? Any reason that archers are in order?" Another battle? Surely not, as far as he knew things were peaceful what with the zealots gone and the Obans seemingly their allies now. What else could it be? Hopefully something that Sin'qua could see since he was without his magical sight at the moment.

Gyuri - Post 5 Gyuri watched as Borra set about picking up some of the different instruments that they had found, trying them out, but he didn't seem to be enjoying them. He even seemed to flinch at times making it seem almost as though it was causing him physical pain to try out the other instruments. It was something that made him want to drag Borra away from them. Was there something else going on? Something that he was missing? Something important that Borra wasn't telling him that everything that was bothering the musician stemmed from? As Borra suddenly spoke up, saying in what Gyuri felt was supposed to be a joking manner that 'maybe he was just hopeless' he found himself reaching out to him, wrapping an arm around Borra. Once he had hold of him he dragged the much smaller back back so that Borra's back was against his front and murmured in a manner only he could hear, "That isn't true. You're not hopeless, Borra, just in a rut as you said." He didn't like the idea that Borra might actually think himself hopeless be it a joke or otherwise. He wanted to say more, to reassure him, to tell him it would all be alright, that he was right here, and many other things... but he found his attention diverted for a moment. He caught the sight of some archers with severe expressions moving through the crowd and a few people's attention was either on them or on the evening sky where something in the distance seemed alight. Unconsciously the big man's arm tightened on Borra, as though holding him tighter, holding him closer, would allow him to protect the musician more easily. He'd keep him safe while trying to figure out exactly what the archers were up to.

Serrpost fourIn the end, Serr concluded that Eziya was correct, as she tended to be, especially when he found a beaten silver cuff dotted with pale green stones that he was pretty sure Thess would never take off. He bought that and a simple necklace for Fiia, and was about to suggest they find something interesting to eat when the edge of chaos crept up on them all. People weren't quite panicking, but there was an air of wariness that could easily turn to something more dangerous if it wasn't contained.
Serr stepped closer to Eziya's side, peering at the sky and trying to discern what was approaching. "Have you ever seen anything like that?" he asked softly.

Kauffpost four"I don't," he admitted, confirming her suspicions. He had done many things that might have been considered dancing while less than sober, but they hardly counted in the daylight. "But I have a feeling you can and an urge to see it." The two of them had done their fair share of... dancing in private, after all. There was a dare in his eyes as he continued, though it was predictably more fond than aggressive.
"And, really, what's to know? Move your hips, move your feet, repeat." He chuckled, holding out his arms.
Later, after she'd set up her wares and he'd found them almost as many pastries, tiny sandwiches, and meat-on-a-stick selections as he had tried on his own during the Oban tournament, Kauff sat, momentarily still, watching the crowd flow past. There was a disquieting anticipation in the air, but seeing that his head was currently at the height of a child's, he couldn't discern why. He stood, sucking shiny flakes of sugar off of his fingers as he scanned the horizon, finding the moving cloud.
"What in the..." he muttered, sweeping his hair away from his face and holding it at the crown of his head as he stared.
