"Then I got you beat." Said the bald demon. Above the trees, several branches up, a very small, red, horned imp sat holding out his phone into the air before shaking it and frowning.

Melody rolled her eyes playfully at Lawr, "I just assumed you were very fine and blon-"
At the sudden voice, Melody pushed past Lawr and got between him and the tree the strange red creature was residing up. She looked side to side before glancing up at him.
"Who are you?" She barked in a demanding tone.

Lawrence was about to add that he was certainly blonde and certainly fine but that he simply had some genetic issues to compete with when TG edged into the conversation. He stopped, narrowing his eyes and looking up at the tree.
The creature was familiar. He hoped it didn't remember him. "I am going to wager, a demon." he said blithely.

"Ding! Ding! Ding!" He sang as he put his phone into his pocket to tears them.
"And you're two humans wandering about. Whatcha after? Looking for horsemen cause if that's it the way you two are going around you'll find them in no time." He smiled as his heart-tipped tail swagged back and forth.
"Or just rubbing skin out here in the wilds?"

Rubbing... skin? Melody gave the demon a baffled stare, "Just what in the world is that supposed to mean?" It was a small demon in any case. She pondered his aerodynamics as a football for a moment before her posture finally relaxed. She still kept her place between the two of them, just in case a fight broke out.

Lawrence shook his head. "Frankly I was just going back where I came from. Not really interested in fighting today, if I am completely honest." he did however raise a brow at the demon. "And certainly not rubbing any sort of skin of any kind."
He did however raise a brow curiously. "I didn't know the horsemen brought /pets/."

"Didn't know that if you left a human out in the sun too long they turn into raisins." TG said with a grin that said he wasn't too happy about the insult.
"Are you sure you're heading to your camp?" He said as he looked out across the jungle scape from his perch before looking back to them.
"I'd bet seeds on it that you're not."

Melody snorted and rolled her eyes at the comment. There was no way she even vaguely resembled a raisin. She side-glanced at Lawr thoughtfully....
She glared back at TG when he questioned the direction they were heading. Whisper sounded immediately uncomfortable about the situation. Demons were not to be trusted. He could be helping, but again he could be attempting to lead them astray just as easily. "What makes you say that, Red?" Seeds? What a silly thing to wager.

Lawrence's cordial smile didn't even falter at the raisin comment. It got his hackles up a little but to show it externally was pointless.
"If we are going the wrong way." he said. "My companion here is to thank." And he nodded at Melody, laying the blame squarely on her shoulders.
"I assume you are a spy."

"You shouldn't rely on a broad for directions." He confirmed as he puffed down to a lower branch to look down at them.
"I could be, but if I was then why wouldn't I have used this terrible walkie talkie to call them over?" He said as he pulled one out of his pocket by its antenna to dangle it. "I don't take orders from mules."
"Ugh, Red? Who am I? My uncle?!" He gave a little bow. "TG sweetness. Nice view by the way." He grinned as he leaned a bit for on the tips of his shoes to look down her top.
"We can always make a deal if you don't believe me."

Melody stared at Lawr and pressed her lips into a thin straight line until you couldn't tell she even had lipstick on anymore. Was he serious with this?? The thin line dropped as she held both hands up towards TG in an exaggerated gesture of just cannot believe this is even.
She scowled at TG in horror and promptly hugged her chest and slid more to Lawrs side than in between them. As if Lawr would somehow protect her from the demon's prying gaze. "Make it stop!" She looked to Lawr expectantly.

Lawrence eyed TG with open curiosity. He was always fascinated by Halloween creatures, but it only made sense that foremost of these was demons. He'd always been fixated by celestial legends and mythology, even before he'd known they actually existed, now it was beyond a fascination and bordering obsession.
He wanted to touch the demon, he wanted to cut him open, he wanted to see how pain worked for them, he wanted to understand immortality and suffering, he wanted to see what he could gain from them.
He stared.
This one said it didn't work with the horsemen, he had a walkie talkie. These were potentially exploitable facts, but like everything from a demon, certainly could not be trusted. "Leave her alone." he said calmly to the imp and offered his hunter coat to Melody to preserve her modesty from prying eyes.
"And perhaps you haven't called them because you don't know what to make of us."

A thick eyebrow rose. "I know what to make of you. You get a bit too handsy in houses." He said with a frown as he leaned back comfortably. "When I was innocently minding my own business." That was why he was up in the trees and not near his range.
"I haven't called because they are busy looking. Why would I stop workers?" He looked back at them. "Unless I have to." He was of course the most important demon here but he hadn't come to the jungle for fun. There was something valuable and if he could get a piece of the action, he would.
He also had nothing to do in the meantime (like hell he was going to slave away for the miles) and the humans presented an opportunity.
"What should I make of you? Aside from not knowing where you are?"

Melody promptly took the coat and wrapped it around her shoulders until she felt properly covered. Lawrence still had certain gentlemanly traits despite the venom tipped quills he kept concealed and for that he earned a quick nod of approval, "thank you." She peered at Lawr searchingly though as his gaze seemed rather fixed to the demon.
"Do you know this one?" She was sure she already knew the answer based on the demon's comments.

Lawrence's friendly smile only got friendlier as the demon confirmed that he wasn't simply a relation of the individual he'd run into in the haunted house but the very little man himself. "I should have liked to know you even better." he said, rubbing his jaw fleetingly with the wrist of his missing hand.
It was of note that the horsemen were out looking still and that for whatever reason they had opted to bring along students on their little venture, whether as meat shields or as some sort of publicity stunts. "In the end you will need to face us." And he looked forward to it.
"For now though, you can take us for two travellers who mean you no harm."
Melody got a nod for her question. "I met him in the haunted house once. It was an enlightening conversation. Very moving."
