He had no answer for Al. He had no response for Temperance either, at least not a verbal one. All Theo wanted was to go home, to wake up and call Bekki and make sure the girls were all right. He had little doubt this would work, surprisingly, but he still questioned the sanity of letting this thing out when they could all hold hands and think of regular Ashdown instead.
Without a word Theo strolled across the room and reached out his hand, resting two fingers on the cage. He then thought about opening locks, doors, cans and refrigerators with the same intensity he had recalled the sun that day in the alley. He tried to push the feeling down through his arm and into the plastic, and this time, he felt slightly less ridiculous than he had previously. At least that was something.

Lily was no stranger to meditation and mantras--it was something she'd found in her yoga practice, something she'd learned from Lady in order to restore her human form before the first full moon. It was empowering, I'm a way, to consider that the facets of this world were as malleable as the will was strong.
A shame, then, that Lily had next to no motivation to use it.
Still, circumstances had once again put her in a place where she was responsible for the wellbeing of people other than herself, and though she already felt tired, like she had a million more important things to do, she understood that she would continue to be stuck here until something changed, and that it was in her capacity to make it happen.
She looked to Temperance, but did not touch the cage, extending a hand in the vague direction of the lock. "Like a champ, Sailor V," she smirked, and then she was closing her eyes, focused on the energy she felt in her body and honing it towards the door. The human body was energetically nothing more than a series of doors, opened and closed in response to outside forces or willful intent. In much the same way, Lily reached past the reach of her fingers with her thoughts and sought out the mechanism, her mind centered around one command:
Open.

"I can't," Dee told Temperance, "I've been trying!" Not that the chipmunk did not press against the cage where the latch was and their hands were there.
The air in the room seemed to thicken and grow heavier as they each thought and willed the latch to open. It popped and the chipmunk in the cage was pressing at the door, pushing it open and nosing his way out.
"It worked, it worked!" He chittered excitedly. Dee's fur was darkening, his tail growing in length some. Then it abruptly stopped and he let out an agitated noise.
That door that Shun had checked, the one that would not open, suddenly rattled as if someone was trying the handle. Then there was the sound of a fist banging on it.
"No no no no!! The glowy people things!!"

Since others had gotten the creature out, Shun eyed the chipmunk for a moment, wary. He took note of the slight transformation the critter was undergoing, and well.
That wasn't a good sign.
But what was a worse sign was the fact that the mysterious door now had fists banging on it. He took a step back away from it, furrowing his brow.
"We need to get out of here. The entrance to this theater is barred, but we should be able to breach it if we work together."

Almost as if it heard Shun, the trap door slammed shut. The stairs were there but should anyone attempt to climb them they would find that there was, apparently, no longer even a door there.
Dee let out a scared chitter, almost backing back into his cage but then stopping himself.

Shun turned as he heard the door slam shut.
"Okay. Something wants to keep us here. Whatever it is has a pretty ******** strong will. In theory, we can do whatever the hell we want if we have enough drive. We could try breaking our way out some other way, or deal with whatever is beyond that door."
There was no guarantee they'd be able to overcome the theater's mastermind, however.

As others joined in to help, Juniper had hippie that they'd be able to free their little friend. Temps suggestion that Dee help from the inside was a good idea, and maybe it was the turning point since the latch finally clicked open and the chipmunk was able to wiggle out of the cage. "Yes!" She threw her hands up in excitement, missing the little transformation that Dee started but stopped.
The sounds of the door being pinned on, caused Juniper to gasp in surprise. "s**t!"
Dee's exclamation about the glowy people frightened the blonde some, but it was the slamming doors that really put her on edge after Shun's suggestion to get out. not wanting to see Dee hurt in the confusion, or worse left behind, Juniper held her hands on the table for the chipmunk to hop into if it was so inclined.
"You mean like what we just did with the cage? That seems a bit. ...different than fighting off glowy people who may not be happy we freed their pet." She glanced down at Dee, biting her bottom lip in the process. "Iam willing to give it a shout though. There's not much left for us to do at this point, right? "
She jumped slightly as whomever was on the other side of the door hit it again.

"C'mon, Dee, let's skedaddle." With Juniper's hand outstretched, she couldn't very well offer her own, so Temperance turned, looking around the room. (One of her hands was compromised, as well, and the hard plastic of it banged every so often against her sternum, sending panicked shivers down her spine. Don't think about it, she reminded herself.) Her blue eyes flicked between the stair and remaining door thoughtfully. If the trapdoor was gone, and the one door had banging... She wondered why it didn't just open, if the theater was on the other things' side. Could they just will a door into existence? It seemed like silly, but she'd been forced to believe in five silly things today already.
Walking over to the wall (she thought this one was towards the front of the stage), Temperance dug around awkwardly in her purse. Pulling out a black magic marker - hah! magic, she thought, she dragged it across the wood, drawing a makeshift door. She didn't have any other better ideas, anyway... The squeak of the marker was drowned out by the pounding. Tucking her marker back in her purse and feeling exceptionally silly, she laid her hand against the black outline.
"Please be a door, I believe you're a door. You're a door out," she whispered.

Dee, as he was introduced to, was freed of his cage quickly and Chris raised his eyebrows at the creature. It was strange that it was trapped in a dark, dusty storeroom and he wondered if it was an accident or on purpose. No matter though, he would deal with it later. For, now they needed a way out.
"Good idea," He told to Temperance as he watched her draw the door. He didn't know if it would entirely work, but it wasn't a bad idea to try.
"If that doesn't work, I suggest we work with whatever's beyond that door," Chris said, moving near the door. He was unnerved by the motion going on but it was their only option at the moment. "I can try and divert whatever's banging on it so you can all move. I have a better idea of what goes on here."

The banging continued and Dee, when given the chance, immediately jumped and hid himself against Juniper's neck. He made himself as small as possible.
"Don't want, don't want, don't want!!" he continued, his now longer fluffy tail tucking over his face as he hid.
For a moment it seemed like it might just work, that Temperance's will along with Chris's might have done something. The wall shimmered, Dee peeking out briefly with a hopeful chitter.
The pounding got louder however and the shimmer failed. Both Chris and Temperance would feel something pressing in on them. Here, in this place, their will was not strong enough to counter whatever it was that wanted things in this room to stay in it.
Then the door banged open and there they were. The two faceless from earlier. They were tall and imposing in their impeccable black suits, bone-white skin faintly glowing before it simply stopped.
They stood shoulder to shoulder and each person in the room would feel as if there were eyes bearing down upon them.

to shun, for a brief moment, these faceless mannequins will appear not so faceless. they do, in fact, have blurry not-quite-formed faces. it flickers in and out and then they go back to their normal appearance. if that's normal.

While Temperance and Chris were trying an alternative exit, Shun kept his attention on the door, ready. Waiting. When that door finally bust open, he stared at the two tall figures that emerged. He furrowed his brow as he saw something odd about them for a moment. And such, he tried to focus, in hopes of getting a better look.
All the while, he just placed himself between them and the rest of the others in the room. All he really had was a pocket knife as far as physical weapons went, which was probably next to useless here.
It made him feel slightly better, though.

With Dee safely tucked up against her neck, Juniper turned to look at the door that Temperance and Chris were attempting to...make? It was still really odd to think about that a person's will could alter a space in reality. Her 6 year old self would have loved this though and embrace it with all her heart. Juniper now, well, it wasn't easy to wrap her brain completely around it. Still, she was hoping that the plan would work.
Her heart skipped a small beat when the wall shimmered. "Oh!" She exclaimed, but her excitement was short lived as the shimmer began to fade away.
A squeak of surprise escaped her when the door banged open. She turned abruptly to see who or what it was that was trying to get to them.
"They're creepier than all the mannequins." She murmured to herself as she shifted herself closer to the rest of the group as Shun stepped forward to act as a protector for all of them. She understood why Dee called them the glowy people though. It was an apt description, though Juniper was more keep on calling them The Faceless. A shiver ran through her body. "It's ok Dee, we won't let them have you again." She said softly to her passenger.
"What do you want?" She called to them. She wasn't really expecting an answer considering they had no mouths to respond with and the mannequins upstairs had been dead silent. Still, it was worth asking, right?

Temperance cursed under her breath as the wall remained a wall, despite a hopeful shimmer. She pun around as the door popped open. Not her door, but the previously locked one. Two vaguely familiar mannequins walked out - if faceless things could be vaguely familiar with no other real identifying characteristics. Her eyes flicked to Juniper - Dee still nestled against the other girl's neck.
"H-hey, suit1 and suit2. Long time no see." She tried to peer past the mannequins into the room they'd just emerged from. "Did you do the trapdoor thing? That was, like, really frightening, you know." Temperance kept her voice light, like she was talking about the weather. Slowly, she edged along the wall closer to them. If she could dart past them, then maybe... maybe what? She didn't have an answer but maybe she could at least see what the other room held.

They zeroed in on it immediately, the knife. A hand was held up, palm towards the ceiling, and Shun's knife disappeared from his hand into the faceless mannequin.
The other one wagged a finger. No. It did not matter that it was a pocket knife, simply that it was a tool for destruction. After all, all other potentially dangerous implements had been removed from the theatre.
That sensation of eyes bored down upon Juniper the moment she talked to Dee, one of them stepping forward and towards her. The attention was not upon her but instead upon the chipmunk curled against her neck.
A hand snatched out and grabbed at Temperance. All of the sudden there was a voice in her head.
Several voices that all spoke at once. You would do best to be more respectful of that which you know nothing of. We are the faceless and you have erred.
There was a hallway past them but there would be no getting past them. Just like Temperance would realize that whatever had pushed back her when she had tried to use magic-
It was just like what she was feeling now held by one of the faceless.
Dee was trying to burrow his way under Juniper's shirt, to make himself not visible. There was no speaking from him but it was clear he was afraid.
A hand was held out towards Juniper but there was no answer to her question.

And just like that, the knife was gone. Shun looked down at his now-empty hand, then turned towards one of the faceless to see the thing there instead. He gritted his teeth, but still didn't budge from his position... until one had grabbed a hold of Temperance.
"Oi, let go of her..." he uttered lowly as he stepped towards that one. He wasn't sure what he could do right now, honestly. Then, he took note that one was walking towards Juniper, holding a hand out. It wanted something. Considering they had captured the chipmunk prior, they wanted her to hand it over.
"If we let you have the chipmunk, will you let us leave this place?" he asked.
