Yuuki had just finished praising Blob and High Pixie for a good day's work and was making her way to somewhere to rest, sadly a new obstacle appeared before she could even get the chance: a beautifully built unicorn with a glorious long horn. It snorted at the girl, then started scrapping its hoof against the dirt a couple time to signal that it was about to charge.
Awww... Yuuki really didn't want to fight something so pretty, but this was no time to be soft - any enemy in her way she had to defeat. Prepping her shield, the lass with Blob in toe tackled the majestical beast. In the end they defeated the creature, but spared its life. It's not like it could harm her anymore after all... But she couldn't exactly let it go back out into the wild and possibly harm another... Would you please join us? Yuuki wrote out on her little pad.
Being in no position to object, and grateful to be a alive, the Unicorn whinnied and nodded its head the best it could before standing up to follow.

"I'm troll, me your friend!" He said as he reached out his arms to give the girl a hug. "W-WHAT!?" Hitomi cried as the behemoth brought her into his all too hairy chest with surprising gentle hug, sadly, this touching encounter didn't last long: the girl's voice was so loud that caught the attention of a powerful group who just so happened to be passing by, allowing them to have the upper hand and launch a surprise attack that easily one shot her demon Earthy. "Show me a hero, and I will write you a tragedy"This world was full of harsh truths that were hard to face; whether it was the absence of loved ones or the destruction of the places that had made up your everyday life, the places that you had come to love, you had to come to terms with the world that you had awakened into or else it was going to eat you alive. And inside, Soji thought, perhaps it had begun to consume him in a way as well. Beating the demons that had threatened him, the people he cared for, had been something of a relief for him, but the more that he began to sink into that negative mindset the darker he began to feel, and the more he could feel the truth in the words that his shadow had said to him not so very long ago on the top of Tartarus. He had accepted those things, but it didn't mean that they weren't true...it meant that there were unpleasant things about him, just like everyone else. He had to face up to them, he had to work to overcome them. And he was thankful that Obelyn had come along when he had to help talk him out of the depression that had nearly claimed him. He had nearly become a monster, unleashing all of his anger and hate into his fighting...slaying beasts, becoming a monster. Swallowed by an abyss...but he hadn't, not yet. He had yet to move from he grocery section when another set of demons began to shamble up the stairs towards him, and he knew he would have to fight.
But this time, he was going to do it under more control. He wouldn't allow the anger to consume him. He would hold onto hope...however slim it might be...and believe that somewhere out there, his friends were still surviving, still fighting. It was all that he could do right now, and so he would. It was a simple answer, but it was all he had. And that was it...
He leaned up from the milk freezer and drew his weapon, watching as the horde of Obariyon rounded the corner and set eyes upon him, laughing as they did.

"Show me a hero, and I will write you a tragedy"It hadn't been much of a fight, but that was fine by him. Strong demons, weak demons, they really didn't matter to him so long as they left him alone, but if they didn't...he would do what had to be done to exorcise his town of each and every threat that walked the streets within her. The Obariyon had learned that the hard way, and as he wiped down his blade with a towel in the clothing section of the Department store, he knew that there were much bigger threats on the horizon. A breath escaped him as he set the towel down and silently apologized to Yosuke, since if this place ever got up and running it was likely he who would have to clean this towel and the streaks of blood on the floor...and the remnants of the corpses of the Obariyon that hadn't become magatsuhi, and all the other remnants of the battle that had been left behind.
He was fairly sure he had hacked an entire row of spaghetti sauce open and spilled it all over the pasta aisle while trying to beat back part of the horde. It would smell something awful in a day or two's time. He didn't envy his friend for that...and he smiled, thinking of how he would complain when he did.
Yeah...he would clean it up, because he was still alive out there somewhere. He believed it. He had to believe it. But where he needed to go now was elsewhere, somewhere on the edge of town.
Now that he knew whether or not Yosuke had come here, there was one team member who lived nearby that he had yet to check up on.

"Show me a hero, and I will write you a tragedy"Escaping Junes had proven...a little more problematic than he had expected. As he stepped out into the stairwell, he had looked long down the corridor and saw rounding the corner in that instant a white-haired man, tall and intimidating and handsome, with a fur-lined cloak and instantly...he knew that person from descriptions he had heard and events long-past. That was the telltale cloak of the Wolf of Ragnarok, one of the Children of Loki. And as he was right now, he knew quite certainly that defeating him would be impossible. As difficult a time as he had with Tala on his own, he knew that this would be just as tough for the moment. He decided not to push his luck and retreated back into the Department Store, avoiding his gaze purposefully. The only other way out than the stairs was the elevator...but that was out, judging by the look of the shaft, fallen down to the basement and collapsed within. But the doors on the bottom floor were open. Did that mean this floor's...?
He wasted no time as the footsteps came closer and the clamor of the Wolf's servants closed in. Rushing towards the shaft, he pulled out his blade and leaped down the shaft, stabbing it into the wall as he came close to the 1st Floor door...not a steep drop, thankfully. Dragging the blade out of the wall instantly as he swung towards the opening, his toes barely grasped the edge of the lobby floor and pulled him away from a fall to his doom, allowing him to swiftly dash for the door before his hunter realized that he was in the presence of prey. And before he knew it, Soji was out into the street and dashing down towards the alley clear of Junes, moving surreptitiously towards the town's edge. And the Inn that lay in the distance beyond...Quote: 63 Tokens

"Show me a hero, and I will write you a tragedy"It wasn't far from the alley when he emerged past the Downtown Area and started taking the rural road out towards the Inn on the outskirts, passing by bits of rice paddies and farmland between the town and their landmark resort as he went. Much of it was burning or burned, a ruin of what had once been a beautiful and smooth path of countryside grass, rolling hills, and similarly beautiful land. He regretted the loss of it, but he couldn't worry about every blade of grass when the people of the world were dead and dying. Somewhere in the distance, the answer to a question he needed to know was waiting for him. It wasn't that far, but it was still a walk he dreaded making. Especially when a hundred meters or so beyond the town's more urban area he could see a group of dangerous-looking bandits waiting on the road to ambush anybody who was unlucky enough to happen along and find them. It would have been easy to avoid them, really...obvious as they were standing there. But if he avoided them, somebody else would encounter them instead. Perhaps somebody who couldn't defend themselves as he could. Perhaps somebody like Yukiko, without this App that he'd been given...
"Hey guys, nice day for a walk," he smiled as he came within their sight and saw them laugh and scramble to block his path and eventually surround him; he let them, making it all the more plain to them how 'harmless' he was. "Show me a hero, and I will write you a tragedy"It was fairly easy to dispose of the bandits, and while it would have been tempting to dispose of them permanently given their bad breath, worse taunts, and absolutely abhorrent wardrobe, he couldn't bring himself to do it. He left them laying, a few broken bones here and a couple of concussions there, but alive nonetheless. It was better than they deserved. But as he left them behind him he soon realized his mistake; the screams alerted him to the arrival of the demons behind him. His eyes widened and he turned, seeing the small forms far off in the distance struggling against the even smaller devils, unable to fight back and being ruthlessly torn into. Cursing under his breath, the Senior did the only decent thing and sprinted back across the distance between them, his sword at the ready! And as he cut through the first demon, he couldn't help growling at the bandits and their stupidity for putting him in this position in the first place.
"You don't deserve this," he sighed as he caught the bite of a Preta with his forearm...wincing at the pain before he slung it to the side and bounced it's head off the road, crushing it hard enough that it had to release its jaw and free him, "...But I guess if we didn't kill Adachi for actually killing people, I can't just let you die for sucking at killing people, now, can I?"Quote: 69 Tokens - 10 Tokens [Draw out Pazuzu] = 59 Tokens

"Show me a hero, and I will write you a tragedy"He didn't know how it had come to this; leading a tied-up troupe of bandits through the now-wasteland that spread between the town-proper and the Amagi Inn, keeping an eye out for demons as they made the march towards what they hoped would be some measure of shelter against the demons that had overrun pretty much everything at this point. He hated to bring this sort of person right into the front door of Yukiko's Inn, but they were restrained at least, and his rescue of them had made them a lot more compliant with his requests than they had been before. They weren't even upset when he tied them up as the condition for bringing them with him, and if they could just contain themselves within a couple of rooms at the Inn and not cause a fuss...maybe Yukiko would forgive him for ending up on her doorstep looking like some kind of post-apocalyptic slave trader. Seriously, though, if she wanted to call him Immortan Soj and usurp him all Furiosa style when she saw him, he wouldn't even be able to defend himself properly against it. He smiled as he imagined the conversation, not even ashamed to be using the same Mad Max: Fury Road reference that he had earlier.
Really, though, it was better to be thinking about this sort of thing than the alternatives; thinking that Yukiko was waiting for him at the end of this road kept him moving forward. It kept him from giving in to the despair as another devil rushed his conga-line of humiliation and forced him to stop it with his blade, that one not quite as lucky as the bandits that he had spared. He didn't want to keep killing them, but at the same time, he absolutely needed it, knowing it was the only thing standing between the world and total ruin.
This...was a brand of anarchy he had never expected, nor been prepared to handle. But they were here nonetheless, weren't they? And soon, he would arrive at Yukiko's Inn and learn the truth about whether or not there was gold waiting for him at the end of this bloody brick road.Quote: 59 Tokens

Yuuki was riding on Unicorn;s back, admiring the view and the artificial breeze that the majestic beast allowed her to experience as they scouted the area. However, upon their outing they discovered that a demon horde was nearby... They could easily dodge or outrun them, but... I don't want to run... The girl said internally as she clenched Unicorn's mane. Maybe she was foolish, but what if they hurt someone else if she decided to leave them alone? That aside, she also believed that she could win with her companion by her side.
Already knowing Yuuki's wishes, the Unicorn rode into battle, and together they were able to fight and defeat the horde.

The girl praised with a wide smile, giving the demon a mighty thumbs up. "Hug now?" Troll asked, holding his giant hairy arms out. Minori Koroko  Learning about the Candelabrum and their link to this war and Soji left a bad taste in the girl's mouth. Knowing now that he had been shoved into the heart of all this against his will... that he hadn't asked for any of this...beside everything else on his plate already...it made her feel awful about it. She wanted to be there for him... let him know that he could count on them. They could... carry this together, right? If that Candelabrum was the one to blame, maybe they could...
Minori looked up, pushing those thoughts aside, and focusing on her companion for the moment. They had been able to escape...Soji and that mysterious girl had stayed and fought to cover their retreat, and for that she was grateful. Still, there was a tinge of worry in the blonde's heart, and she sent her thoughts out to the silverette. She just hoped he was doing alright out there...or well, as all right someone could be in the apocalypse. This wasn't a gentle world...and there was no calm for any of them. Their hearts were heavy, their bodies tired, their minds exhausted... Their spirits couldn't falter though. She had Genji with her...and his presence was what kept her going...knowing he was here...that they were together.
She frowned. Who was she kidding? She was scared. She was terrified, more like. The thought that he could die at any moment...that she could die at any moment... it was too much to bear. She didn't want to die...she didn't want him to die. She wanted...she wanted to survive and live after this in the normal world...to grow up and think about the future. To think about...maybe...someday...getting married...having children. The thought made her cheeks turn a rosy color despite herself, and Minori turned her head away to avoid getting caught thinking about such silly fantasies in a moment like this.
The had a moment to breath for now...thanks to Soji. Hiding inside the ruins of Daidara's had help her recollect her thoughts and give her cotton candy haired companion to patch up...keep him away from harm if only for a second.

 Nix Gallen When Nix opened her eyes and stumbled out of the wreckage that surrounded her, she never imagined she would see such a sight before her. Inaba was in ruin, no even worse then that, this was the very image of Hell. The silverette couldn't clearly remember what she was doing before suddenly falling asleep but something soon became clear. A voice spoke to her, explaining what had happened, what was happening, and that he saved her and several others in this chaos. Then it asked a question, 'Do you want to live?'. The answer to that was a definite yes. Though the teen started to worry about the possibility of her friends and family not surviving this 'end game'.
Nix scanned her surroundings, seeing that she was in the Shopping District, or what was left of it. Surely someone had to be around here.. One of the few buildings that seemed to be mostly intact was Deidara's, a shop the team got their gear. Perhaps one of them would be there! So that was where the Investigation Team member went first of all. "H.. Hello? Anyone in here..?" Luckily there weren't any demons sulking about, it was the best possible thing instead! Genji and Minori were taking shelter there. "Genji! Minori! Oh thank goodness!" The silverette wasted no time in hurrying to their sides, giving both of them a quick embrace.  Tharros Gallen "How did I sleep through all this?" Tharros muttered to himself as he wandering about the ruins of Inaba. Sure a familiar voice explained everything to him, but how could a person have enough power to keep a number of people from stirring in such destruction? The man could only hope those close to him survived as well and he would try to find them no matter what. Unfortunately, as he searched Tharros entered a half collated building. The state of it wasn't the problem, it was the fact that a gang of bandits had taken it as a hideout. For some weird reason, they decided to attack him. Their mistake..
