Hailey was quite thrilled with the choice in game that Nikora picked. It was obviously really great to them! Nikora and Hailey both won plushies right off the bat! Score! The snowglobes intrigued her, so she also snitched one up. She really wanted the snowman one, but Charmstar had one and she didn't want to be a copycat. Huff. All the same, as she handed off the big ol plush to Malachi's mom, she shook up the globe and stared into it with excited and wonder-filled eyes. "Ooooooh man! It's so pretty! I wish I could be in there~"
Malachi was surprised with himself as he managed to do good at the game, too! Good enough to win a big plushie, that with a smile to match it in size, he held out to Hailey. "He--here you go, Hailey~" And when she squealed and snitched the kidden plushie right up he giggled a bit. It made him really happy to see her love it like that. He took the chance to snitch up another plant... There was always need for more!
The suggestion from Charmstar sounded really fun, actually. He hadn't played out in the snow all too much before, so this would be his first chance to build a snowman. He was always so curious about how they worked. "I would like that a lot." he replied, smiling. Wow... he was actually starting to make more friends! This was getting pretty exciting!
Hailey pouted some as Malachi's mom took up the new plushie that was given to her, but at the same time she was grateful she didn't have to worry about lugging all sorts of stuff all over the place. Clinging to Malachi, she gave him a big ol kiss on the cheek. "Thank you Khai-aaaah!" She had missed Charmstar's invitation to build a snowman, so while she was still close by -- even though he was now about to blush to death, Malachi had whispered in her ear about the invite. "OH! That would be super fun! Yes! We should totally go build snowmen together! Double date it is!" But not to miss out on a chance to tease the blushing boy she was clinging to, she nudges him a bit. "Those his hot little cheeks might melt them!" And she grinned at him, bouncing excitedly.
D--double date?! Was this really going to be a date?! Oh gosh. Oh me. Oh my! raced through the little guy's head! Did Hailey realize what she said? Probably not, but a double date?! That thought paired with the small ribbing he received had his cheeks and ears were about as red as they could be now. And yet, he couldn't stop smiling at the thought.
After making a scene with the too-hot-for-him hot chocolate, Dodger was cooling down his mouth with a small cup of water offered by the vendor. The guy looked so silly as he was spazzing out over the hotness of the hot chocolate -- which wasn't very hot to be perfectly honest -- that the vendor had moved quickly to calm him down. Once he didn't feel like his tongue was about to crumble into ashes [[such a dramatic guy]], Dodger also bought up a second cup of cocoa. The vendor gave such a strange look to the Grimm, hoping he wasn't about to do a repeat performance. Dodger caught the look and gave a goofy grin. "For the girlfriend~" And then he scooped up both his cup and the cup for Eileen and wandered back to find her.

Now that Bobbi's hunt for books was over, xe wasn't entirely sure on what to do with xyrself now. Sure there were interesting tickets and such to look at, but were they really for Bobbi? Though, before xe had the chance to give it much thought, the bird began to squawk and hiss something awful! Lifting the cage up, the Litch peered through the bars at the noisy and cranky creature. At this point there was one thought as to why it might be acting this way. It was hungry. Possibly. Working with that theory, Bobbi began to walk about, hunting for something the angry little feathered thing might like. Stumbling on a stand with peanut brittle, Bobbi took up a bag of it and opened it up, Breaking a small piece off, it was offered to the cranky bird. At first it hissed and snapped at the offered snack, but when it got a taste of it, the bird snitched it up and began to gnaw at it. "Hmmmm..." Bobbi hummed to xemself before wandering off once more.
"Look at this little cutie!" Odessa held up a little plushie to show Kara, turning it around to inspect every stitch. "It's adorable!"
Kiessi danced about when they got the little light bulb necklace. "So cool!"
"Yeah, it is." Kara agreed, pulling on her candy canes, giving one to Odessa. "Make sure you don't get it sticky though." She half laughed and inspected the little earrings she got at the last stand. She didn't have pierced ears, so she was a bit surprised to see that they were able to clipped on them anyhow. She wasn't sure if she'd use them, but they were cute.
Finally, her sneaking about was finally paying off. More candy!
Rorie was excited when the attendant handed him a little fennekit! It was so soft! He gave it a little cuddle, nuzzling the little guy.
Kirella had found a nice little place to sit while sipping her coffee. She pulled out a book, letting herself relax.
"Do you need help carrying those....?" Eilwen might have been hiding a little smile as she watched Gaius take yet another plant from the table, he sure did love those little seedlings! Even without knowing what they were! There was always the chance that he'd take her up on that offer and she'd end up with her own arm full of little potted plants as well.
As they entered the little fun house someone slipped a glowing necklace on over her head and wished them a "Happy Solstice" as they wandered around. She returned the phrase and moved in to the little fun house. There were games to play inside and caroling to be heard, it was all covered in a fake snow and there were decorated trees. At one of the games she managed to win herself another plushie. She might just have too many of them already...
Jezebeth eventually found herself at a game of chance, she had to guess what the top card was in a stack of cards. She supposed it was probably rigged, but she took a shot at it anyway. Surprisingly to her, and probably the Nightmare behind the game, she managed to guess the right card. Well, she did have a 1/52 chance of guessing right anyway. As a prize, she got to pick out a little flitterat friend! That would be the perfect little pet for Enoukn, and possibly even a good Holiday gift. She debated for a while until she finally picked out the little green one, it was so cute. And quite happy to be going home with her when she was also handed a bundle of candy canes.
Nilima found a game that was supposed to test her 'will power'. She didn't really know what it was all about and all she had to do was place her little clawed hand on a small crystal ball. It told her she had a very strong and protective will, and for that she deserved a prize! She was able to pick form various plushies and ended up choosing one that was blue f course. Blue was one of her favorite colors! She smiled and moved on to check out even more of the games, as she did someone slipped a boa around her neck. How. Fabulous!
Iris was finally joining the party! He was late mostly because he'd been taking a nap. A nap that admittedly had been much longer than a nap should have been. Oops, oh well. At least he was plenty rested to enjoy the festival for a long time yet! As he entered he was handed a cute stocking for him to put his treats into, aw yes! It was supppper cute! Hats off to whomever had made the adorable things. He wasn't wandering around for all that long before someone slipped a cute little glowing necklace around his head either. "Happy Solstice!" He chirped at the person had had given him the little necklace. Now, let's see. He was really interested in finding some games that he could play!
There was nothing like a good festival to get your excited! And there was more to this festival than just celebrating the Solstice as well! She was very much interested in meeting some of the new Daydreams that would be attending the Academy as well as really just any of them that might be wandering around. It was a chance to learn something new! How exciting! She wasn't sure how this new agreement would work out in the long run, but surely people could look passed the well....past and agree to get along.
She kept her eyes open for Daydreams to interact with, but was also distracted by the various games. There seemed to be a lot of booths giving away books as well. She picked out a stocking for treats and also picked up a free book while she was at it. She eventually found herself at a game of chance, where her luck held out and she scored herself a rather large, adorable, fennekit plushie! How cuuuute!
Cimara decided to hope a portal and check out the solstice festival after he finished his lesson plans. His expression was still fairly serious as he moved along, but he didn't look unhappy. As he went along he found a shop, where he bought a stocking for the fun of it. Then he stopped at a booth with a fish scope game. He took the ring with the delicate rice paper screen and attempted to pick up the fish without ripping the rice paper. Cimara failed a few time, before he finally managed to pick up a gold fish with the rice paper. He nodded satisfied with his success. Then he was given the red Skyfish. Camira nodded content with the red Skyfish going home with him.
Camrine went around the festival as she had been doing for a while now. She went to play a few game, but had little luck today. She sighed and then stepped up to a booth giving away books. Camrine curiously picked up a book called Daylight. She was interested in learning more about the book. Then Cam looked around thinking about the daydreams being accepted into the academy. She really hadn't stopped to think that was what this festival was about welcoming the new students. Cam stood there looking about for any of the new students.
Glykeria didn't try playing any games that day, instead she went to a booth and picked up a pack of candy canes. Then went to look for a quite spot to eat them and just take a breather from being around the crowds. Gly sighed, she loved skipping, laughing and being social, but even she had her limits and just wanted to be by herself for a bit. Besides she hadn't connected with anyone new yet anyway. So she felt sorta alone in the crowd. Gly put her head down in her hands and sat her candy canes in her bag. Glykeria didn't know why such a silly thing was upsetting her, but it was.

Aeon blushed as Ami touched her wings, they didn't know each other very well, but so fair Aeon like Ami well enough. Then again it was rather rare that Aeon didn't like a person, she liked pleasing others. She smiled brightly when Ami complimented her music. "Thank you, I still have a long way to go before I am a master musician."
Coco walked along, she stopped at a booth and picked out a pretty orange Solstice light necklace. Then she went looking for something else to do, maybe she could volunteer at a face painting booth or ask one of the teachers if she could set up one if that was allowed. Coco really wanted to do some art work even if it was just a small thing. Humm she looked around looking for a wall, if she could get paint from the art department maybe she could get some other freshlings to help her make a mural if she got permission from the teachers.
Gwen didn't believe in Santa Claws, but she decided to go to the festival anyway. She looked around for things she could use in her research. She found a booth that was giving away small plants, Gwen nodded happily accepting the plant, she would take it back to her dorm room and water it and chart the changes in the plant as it grew.

The Fallen shook their head, leaning back onto their heels. "No, I love listening to others singing and concerts too," Sprout assured. "Just don't ask me to, but I can jam along." The winged Nightmare was practically beaming, enthusiastic that Verve shared some of the same interests.
"What?" Sprout answered, tufted ears shifting. "No, it's yours!" They shook their head, crossing their arms in front of them in a vague X shape. "They'll coexist, I promise. There's plenty of chances for me to attract my own." Sprout smiled warmly. "Maybe it's just really into Solstice cheer."

Caper padded a few steps closer, still clutching his hands near his chest as Silas fed the two familiars. "Where did they come from?" he asked, tilting his head to the side with large violet eyes. Tentatively he reached out and petted the goat's head, pleased when the creature seemed to enjoy the touch. Caper giggled, playing with one of the Kidden's floppy ears.
The Geist turned back to the table, repeating the same routine as before to procure another treat. This was more of a biscuit and it had a snowflake in the frosting design, but Caper didn't seem to care and he offered the two familiars pieces in turn. "What do they eat?" he asked Silas, positive that cookies were just for treat time.
Carrying their new friend on their shoulder, Cyota began to pick her way across the event. Oh! plushies! Pleased as punch, the little nightmare picked up one of the giant fennekit plushes that were as bad as they were.
- 10 Chun-li ... Didn't want to eat the candy. Oh no, it wasn't like she was attracted to the yummy candy not at all. But you know, it did LOOK good and as she worried her lower lip, why some of the candy canes just happened to drop in her bag. Oops!
- 18 Luno donned a pair of belled antlers, laughing in delight at the silly image he made. After all, the mutant was weird enough all ready. He didn't need horns growing from his head as well. Still, it felt nice and the extra jingle added to the bell on his bow.
- 8 Xochi's felt invigorated to keep exploring and grab things that her possible new child might like. She happened upon free books and took one of them. Reading was the foundation of education. Without a good love of reading, there was little that could be done..
- 13 Caetys decided to leave the crowd for a moment, to let the little flitter rats rest. He instead went and peeked into the plushie table. There was a golden cat plushie that called his name. Adorable! Taking it, he nestled it in beside the sleeping flitterrats. They seemed very pleased for the company.
- ( 8 ) - Fig was rather excited to see what there was to see. This was his first event Below and he wanted to just drink it all in. Of course, he didn't have a remote idea of where anything happened to be exactly, but the good thing about not really having a set destination meant that he could wander around to get his bearings. There was much to see, so why dawdle in any one place, after all? Collecting a stocking and attaching it to a belt loop, the Fey then meandered over to a table full of steaming mugs. "Oh, may I, please?" He asked the person behind the table, indicating a mug of spiced hot cider. Smiling at the nod of affirmation, Fig kindly thanked the vender, collected the wonderfully fragrant brew, and resumed his exploring. Being woefully lost wasn't so bad when it came with delicious drinks!
- ( 19 ) - Samira didn't seem to be in any really hurry when she came with her caretaker. The hybrid mutant took a moment to peruse the trinket tables and to pick a stocking. To fully enjoy the festivities, she obviously had to grab something that would help fuel the fun. After some debate she selected one of the bags of peanut brittle and stashed it in her stocking for sneaky nibbling as she walked. The girl froze in her tracks in front of a game booth with a soft gasp. The giant kidden plush...She needed it! It took a try or two, but when she won, she was able to get the plush that had so won her heart! Snuggling it to her chest, Sami rested her chin on top of its head nestled between the soft horns with a pleased little smile. A good start to the Solstice celebrations if she didn't say so herself!
- ( 18 ) - Oh, so exciting! So exciting! Daydreams were going to be attending schools Below! New classmates, new stories and lives to learn of. Endzela was on cloud nine and very eager to attend the celebrations. Who knows, maybe she'd see some old friendly faces from school, or meet a Daydream while she was there? The demon lass paused to select a stocking from those available and soon got derailed by some bracelets that were simply too cute! In lieu of popping it into her stocking, she slipped it over her wrist with a smile and a shake of her hand.

Wyrdda smiled. Her heart was racing in her chest and her tail, of its own accord, began to wag back and forth. The other person could understand her! She--or they, Wyrdda couldn't tell--could speak sign. And apparently she was mute just like Wyrdda was! 'Yes, the festivals can get pretty prize-heavy. I'm Wyrdda, and yes, I am mute, too! I'm glad you're okay. Would you like to hang out together?' The Nightmare who had handed Kanda her necklace handed one to Wyrdda as well. Blue--one of her favorite colors! That was very nice of them. She flashed them her "Thank you!" card--not that they saw it. 'It's so nice to meet someone else like me, Kanda! I don't meet a lot of people who speak sign, let alone other Grimms. How are you enjoying the festival? Would you like to hang out?'

Zalir's arms were now heavy with plushies--zey could hardly use zeir arms to wave to people who waved to zem. Not that there were many.
Someone thrust a book into zeir arms. Zalir thanked zem and wished them a happy Solstice. Someone else crammed a box into zeir bag, but zey were unable to identify who the culprit was--or even what had been crammed into the bag. Zalir sighed. Zey'd figure it out in zeir dorm room.
Imagine zeir surprise when zey got back to the dorm to discover that the box contained a red aetherjelly!
This is very nearly Zalir's last day! There are only two other trinkets I'd like zem to receive.
"Yeah, so it would seem!" Batholith accepted a mug of some hot fluid from someone passing by--he couldn't tell if it was hot cocoa or coffee. It was neither, as it turned out--or rather, it was both. It was a cup of hot mocha. Aaaaah, now that was the stuff. And it was even in the colors of his house, Enoch. That was a nice touch. He wondered if the person giving out the cups had recognized him from the dorms or the common room. Either way, it was nice to have a souvenir in house colors. "Three out of five could be interesting, too. Not sure, though, there's lots of other things we could do around here."
He took another sip of the mocha, only to feel something strange in his mouth, like a zing or a pressure. He spluttered and spat out the mocha on the ground, expelling the object within his mouth. A bright red wisp popped out, dancing around as if indignant about nearly being swallowed. Bath glared at it and snatched it out of the air, cramming it into his stocking. "Damn wisps!" Inside, however, he was delighted--he loved wisps! They were beautiful, and they helped him sleep at night...

Xeno nodded. "I'm not sure if I've met Leif yet. I don't know if we have any of the same classes together. But then again," he added, "and I'm super sorry to you and Leif, but I don't have the best memory in the world for remembering people. It's not impossible, but it's not super easy for me." He shrugged and smiled. "You can call me Xeno. I don't think I can call you Corben yet, though, since you're still my teacher. How do you know my dad?" It was time to start questioning Mr. Datura. He knew how he was as a teacher--but how would he be as a boyfriend for Dad?
"The obstacle course was actually pretty fun, but I wasn't very good at it. I did win a couple books from it, though, which is good. I like getting more books. It lets me make more plays." Xeno nodded. "I'd love a candycane! Please?"
Suddenly, something bumped into the back of his legs. "Eep!" He turned around to see a red kidden standing behind him. He stared at it. It stared back. Then it butted him again, gently. "Um...okay...?"
Ustule blinked. It was so kind of Teo and Perigor to offer...She thought about it and nodded. "I would like thet. But only eef we are not eenterrupting your traditions, Teo. I do not weesh to eentrude on your femily's tradtitions. Thet would be rude." The first "gingerbread house" was nice--it was full of the scent of freshly baked sweets, especially gingerbread. The inside of the house was full of decorated trees and wreaths, and people in old-fashioned costumes giving out treats and singing. Ustule accepted a mug of hot cider at the exit. "We would sometimes spend the entire day at the village center. Warmth was the most important thing thet far north."
Perigor shrugged in reply to Prometheus's implied inquiry. "Pumpkas aren't too hard to take care of. Their candle burns indefinitely. You just need to prevent them from getting nibbled on. You can train them, too, with scented oils, but they're a little expensive." Taking care of a pair of bird things was going to be more difficult, especially as the two of them were now dancing on his shoulder, squawking at each other. Actually, they were getting quieter and quieter; at this point, it looked like they were having a silent argument. "Potluck sounds nice. I dunno how we could help with that, since none of us has a kitchen and none of us knows how to cook. Unless we break into the Life Skills classroom late one night and teach ourselves." Peri was more interested in his friends than he was in the decorations. He held up the green bulb he had received and grinned at Prometheus--they had matching necklaces!
Teo frowned and thought about it. "I think it has to do with the scent? Burning it makes it smell nicer. Either that or it's a libation for the gods or a benediction or maybe it's just to help get the fire started. I hadn't asked." He really hadn't. Teo didn't ask a lot of questions, generally speaking. It was not in his nature. In his experience, he learned everything eventually, without intruding on other peoples' privacy. "I'm pretty sure you can spend the night off-campus, if your caretakers approve. Not everyone on campus lives there all the time, after all--some people spend part of the week at the dorms and part of the week with their parents." He accepted something warm and smooth gently thrust into his hands. It felt like...ah, a mug. Full of something hot. He sniffed it appreciatively and smiled. Peppermint tea! Perfect. He sipped it and smiled, letting Haint lead him to the next house with his friends.
Something about the flare of Ganymede's tendrils was off. Chries vaguely remembered something in social studies that a Geist's mood could be determined from the activity of their tendrils, but they hadn't gone into any detail. "Are you okay, Ganymede?" he murmured as he took a mug of cocoa. He blew on it gently and sipped it. The rat on his arm sniffed the mug briefly, then turned to Ganymede and sniffed at the air around him. Chries smiled and wrapped his arm back around Ganymede's shoulder. Looking at Gany's face, he could see the teal lights dance on the Geist's face. Hm...that was a good thing, right?
"I found him over there in that tree." Anchriesel gestured vaguely towards it. "I think he's mostly interested in my candy." He hadn't known that Ganymede liked flitterrats. He'd thought--well, he didn't know what he thought. Now he was ashamed just to think it. He shivered involuntarily. How inconvenient for Ganymede to come out and Nightmarify himself, as if he was a person... "After hot cocoa, we can do whatever you'd like to do." He glanced at Alioth and Foras. "With whomever you'd like."

Oriset unwrapped one of the candy canes while waiting for an answer. Mm, delicious peppermint. She squeaked as someone draped a necklace around her neck. Aw, sweet--the red bulb! Score! She handed the person a candy cane in return. "Thangsh!" she said from around hers.
The other person--a Nightmare!--smiled in amusement. "Hey, no problem! Happy Solstice!"
"Yeah, you too!"
It felt so good to be going out with Ella, spending time with her. He realized, though, that he hadn't gotten her a solstice present yet! He looked around frantically for something he could get. Hey... "One second, please, Ella, I'll be right back!" He dashed over to a matching game, turning over tiles frantically.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
Quilo blinked and looked up at the game master. "Um...trying to play a game real quick before I go back to hanging out with my friend? I'm trying to win her something," he explained.
The game master grunted. "Okay. Well, luckily for you, you've won a plush. Which one would you like?"
Quilo pointed to one that was blue like Ella was, stashed it in his bag, and scurried off. "Hey, kid!" the game master shouted.
Quilo turned. Something yellow flew through the air. "For good luck!" the game master shouted.
"Thank you!" Quilo cried. He hid the plushie in the bag and put the necklace around his neck. He ran back to Ella and took her hand. "I had something to take care of really quickly. Sorry, Ella!"

Well, it wasn't the suckiest day Kuni had ever experienced. Hey, he had some potted plants, at least, that was good? He smiled at them as he juggled them in his hands. There were more he wanted. This was a good start to the new school, though, even if they were inconsiderate enough to throw a giant party for solstice...
Well, things still seemed to be going okay for Vederat, even if he hadn't yet been able to secure a plushie or a familiar. He was trying to think good thoughts, though--after all, the party had only just begun! He stepped up to hoop-throwing game and threw some hoops. All he was able to earn was a green sparkly necklace, but hey, it was a pretty green sparkly necklace! He thanked the vendor and moved on.
Foras watched as Ganymede's flashed his usual bright colors. He could tell that some of those flashes were annoyance. Woops. He wasn't sure if Chries was able to read them or not, but he didn't eventually make a little comment about them. Foras kept her mouth shut, for a change. Instead he focused on the warm little fallen next to him.
"It is quite the fabulous little boa." He hadn't really been thrilled about it in the beginning, but since it was scoring him some compliments from his boyfriend he supposed it wasn't all that bad. He tended to stay away from these sort of....gaudy things. But, it was the Holiday season after all. Might as well get into the spirit of things.

Noelle pulled her sleeves down over her hands, smiling at little. Everyone was bustling around and the amount of life at the Solstice excited her. "Long time no see," she breathed, actually a little excited to be back at the Academy. They had raised her here and for that she was a bit sentimental. The Fallen drifted towards the table of freebies, picking up a plant and a plushie. This would look so cute on her window sill. She tucked them both under her arm, looking like a giant kid among all the Academy children. What else was there to do? She could spend all afternoon here and be content.
