"I think Doubleback is trying to be helpful," she said aloud, "but you seem against that..." She frowned, then sighed, "I vote for Sun Sinks Down, too." Doubleback waited too long to vote most days to really push others to vote in a certain direction, it felt. And she was talking, perhaps less so than originally but this game was hard so perhaps it was little wonder at why.
"I am sorry," she addressed Sun Sinks Down, "but she seems to be helpful to me and your desire to be rid of her is quite alarming."

Night tried to keep track of all the comments and reasonings of who might be prey and who might be predator. It was beginning to make his head spin.
"Of those that speak out with comments on who might be a threat, are they prey helping to ferret out the threat? Or are they predator trying to sway the prey to vote for each other?" Night mused aloud.
"And those that say little, are they predators watching and waiting to strike? Or are they only showing their true personality in that they are traditionally loners and are shy among crowds?"
Night looked about him at the gathered kin not expecting any to answer. "How do we determine what is true and what is acting?"
The doe looked over to the kimeti with the glowing green eyes, nodding decisively. "I do feel that more than some others, Doubleback has been helping." Of course, no one could be absolutely sure at this moment of that, but she went with her instinct. "Admittedly the first move that As the Sun Burns made in the previous round is one thing we could go on, but then it merely be because he's... really proud of his name." Bright eyes looked around, making a little face in thought.
"It's not because Sun Sinks Down voted first, it's more that she has been insistent on one without really asking much questions beforehand. So.... I'm--I'm really sorry but, you have my vote.."

Sun Sinks Down shook herself. "It's all right to stir things up and then go curiously quiet as long as everyone thinks you're being helpful? But we don't know what's helpful and what isn't, really, because we haven't figured out anything about the wolves' plans. It's not all right to stay really quiet, because that looks suspicious, but if you speak up, then you've got a target on you too." She looked around at the rest of the circle. "This is the most confusing game I've ever played."
Watching as some voting began, the doe still had questions. How could you tell from only two full days of who could be what? It still seemed like random guessing, which is all it would possibly be til the end. Sighing, Swamp Trees shifted as though she might be voting someone that didn't deserve to. This had to be the hardest game she had ever played, and the detail of the deaths...She shivered. "I vote for As The Sun Burns, also"

Sleepless' analysis of As The Sun Burns' name was interesting, but Doubleback was unsure if it was solid proof. She still considered As The Sun Burns suspicious, but his quiet this round left little to analyze.
She turned her attention to the tan doe that occupied the spot she'd held at the beginning of last round. Doubleback did not particularly trust her. She was too earnest to in her vote and her reasoning easy to poke holes in, and even if she were prey, her willingness to jump to such conclusions could hurt the group in the long run. Nevertheless, she spoke up in the doe's defense.
"Last round, if I were truly a wolf don't you think I would have been better served by backpedaling on my questioning or staying quiet? That Sun Sinks Down has not recanted, and has further argued a opinion that makes her a target suggests to me that she may simply be misguided." She raised her head and looked at the doe. Doubleback respected someone who could stand by their opinion even under duress, though perhaps the suspicion had run its course. Sun Sinks Down did not seem so eager to talk anymore. "Perhaps she is playing a ruse. I cannot be sure, but I think at the moment we might be better served by eliminating someone who does not contribute. "
"In any case, I shall wait a bit longer to see if any of our quieter friends will chime in before I vote."

And yet again, the game turned and changed and stood things on their ear. It might have been an act. It might just have been to continue to build good will with the rest of the kin, but whatever the case: "You didn't have to do that." Sun Sinks Down told her. In fact, she wouldn't have blamed the other doe for taking advantage and getting rid of her. It was with some genuine surprise and sincerity, then, that she dipped her head. "But thank you."

But there was no leader of the group. In other games he had played, and in -- well, the swamp itself, prey were just that. A group. There weren't usually leaders among prey, and that realization caused him to speak up. "There aren't normally leaders among prey," Wintershadow said, not raising his voice; he wasn't sure he was going to be heard above the din. "Wolves and other animals that prey on kin and other animals alike, however, do have leaders. I'm not sure if that goes anywhere, but it's something to think about."
He sighed, and it was clear that he thought his opinion to be true, but didn't really like it. "This is why I'm not a scout. I don't know, but there's been enough evidence to convince me of Sun Sinks Down's suspicion."
He turned a wan smile on the doe, "Nothing personal, of course."

Wild Cry glanced at the doe in question. For someone that looked so similar, he felt guilty when he spoke up. "My vote is for Sun Sinks Down."
Deep down, he flinched fir not contributing much more to the game. He would have no stories sung about him from the way this was playing out.

It seems nearing nightfall is when the creatures are more around due to timezone differences are more talkative.
Not agreeing with Swamp Trees, but rather, with Optimist, she found her reasoning quite plausible. "Saying something gives us a chance to ponder at what has been said. Having that tiny bit of information is better than some kin not saying anything at all and simply state a name while voting. I know I can't read minds, I wish I could, though."
She heard Sleepless' comment and nodded her head. "That was something that I had pointed out yesterday," she spoke in a soft whisper. That doe with antlers looks to Kiss as if she is too easily spooked by loud booming voices such as her own.
Before casting her vote she listened for a bi t longer.
(( OOC ; eating lunch hard to type holding a sandwich and a cuppa tea XD ))
Night counted the votes in his head. If he were to pick a random name like before, it would make no difference. The votes already cast had singled out two. By casting his vote, Night could either seal the fate of one, or balance the votes and let someone else cast the deciding vote.
The buck dug his feet in the dirt, his thoughts going back and forth. Before he could decide and speak the words, an autumn-colored buck spoke up and swayed the balance of votes.

Nightingale's effort the last round has sufficiently cowed her into not speaking again. She nodded mutely in response to Bitter End, but listened silently as the others debated. "I will vote for Sun Sinks Down as well," she finally said. "Though the situation may be reversed, it seems her fate is already sealed."
Seeing the votes piled up on Sun Sinks Down, she didn't think it was wrong for her to cast out her vote as soon as possible. That only showed that she was assertive by what she stood by. Nothing wrong with that.
After thinking about the nicknames incident that she was already aware of, and being brought up by another kin, she had made up her mind. "As the Sun Burns, for wanting to be the only Watch in the group."
Kiss knew she had been talking a lot. By now all she could do was hope that she can stay alive for another day. The second time playing definitely made nothing seem easier at all. These wolves were really good. For she still had no idea who it could be.

Sun Sinks Down's words stunned Optimist enough that she was silent for a long while. "It's interesting that you'd call that following the group's lead, because that wasn't what we were doing at all - as far as I could tell we wanted to vote for kin that hadn't been talking at all."
She paused and glanced around at the other members of the group, now that voting had begun in earnest. She could certainly see the argument for voting for Sun Sinks Down...but to be honest, As the Sun Burns still rankled at her. She and Kiss of Death had been making pointed remarks toward him and he'd just ignored them. That was mean! And, well, the blatant refusal to say anything was objectionable. It was likely he'd simply perk up to vote again, and she didn't want that. "But maybe I misunderstood." Actually, as far as she could tell, Optimist was the only one who'd even mentioned anything even approximating what Sun Sinks Down was saying.
Anyway, Doubleback was helpful enough, and Sun Sinks Down didn't seem to be. But she was responding to the pressure, even if obstinately.
Maybe she'd wait for As the Sun Burns to speak.

The quieter folk didn't make an appearance in the end and Doubleback frowned. "I vote for As The Sun Burns, a few people have raised questions that he ignored."
