1. [Magic beans]: SUCCESS Beans, beans the magical fruit. It has to be magical because I traded an entire cow for them. 2. [Golden egg]: SUCCESS The last of its kind. I found it lying under a large chest of drawers. 3. [Golden coins]: SUCCESS Same house where the golden egg was located. I decided to grab a handful of them. 4. [Rusty bell]: FAILURE It was really old and rusty but it had a clear sound. Would have gotten away with the bell if the farmer hadn’t stopped me. 5. [A net]: FAILURE Nets kill millions of fish each year. I thought you would enjoy owning such a weapon of mass destruction so I went to the pet shop. They could only provide me puny nets to catch guppies. That is beneath you so I decided against buying any. 6. [Hired help]: SUCCESS Everyone could use some hired help. Even the most capable of merphonies such as yourself. 7. [Fish with blank eyes]: FAILURE Every self-respecting sea witch could do with a minion of her own. Following that train of thought, I went to the market to get you one. The fishmonger kept insisting that none of his fishes were alive and got angry when I mentioned that perhaps he should have gotten fresher fish. 8. [A pair of tiny clogs]: FAILURE Tried haggling with a lady selling clogs. Could not come to an agreement on the price. Perhaps it is for the best. Realized that merphonies needed clogs as much as birds needed gloves. 9. [Vitamin C effervescent]: FAILURE The best thing to have when one is having a cold. Unfortunately, the effervescent tablets were extremely soluble in water and dissolved before any could be brought to you. 10. [A rolling pin]: FAILURE Many women will attest to the power of a well wielded rolling pin in the face of uncooperative men. Unfortunately, being made of wood, this rolling pin floats and could not be presented to you underwater.

xxx I will admit the journey wasn't easy. I started out searching the Moonlight Bay for the purest black pearl. Legends told of a beautiful pearl that could bestow eternal beauty upon it's holder. However, the night tolled on and a pearl was not found. It was a foolish idea, anyway -- you already are as beautiful as the moon itself.
xxx Disappointment rushed through me shortly after my failure with the pearl. A traveling circus bumped into me on the desert road, offering me their tent for the evening and a drink that tasted of sweet laughter. I attempted to take back a vial of it to give it you, but they knew of my intentions and switched it with a vial of glitter. How shameful!
xxx Upon reaching a lovely town submerged completely in water, I was given a coral mirror. It only seemed perfect for you, but once I reached the surface it slipped from my grasp and smashed against the heartless ground. How could you, cruel earth?!
xxx Filled of shame and despair, I found myself making a seaweed noose. However, upon further inspection it looked lovely as a necklace... And so I stashed it away for you.
xxx I decided to try and make the long journey back to you. During my return trip, I discovered a lot rabbit plush. We both know how that went.... it fell apart the second it touched the water.
xxx I was near your home when I bumped into an obscenely large pet store. Oh, how lonely my beautiful mer must be when I'm not around! I bought Sir Timothy for you. He is a marvelous goldfish, isn't he?
xxx A star fell from the sky as I approached your home, and I dare admit this is why I returned late. I wanted to give you the second most beautiful thing in the world; a star. And so, I tracked down the fallen beauty and gifted it to you.
xxx Shortly after, I met a unicorn, or so I believed. I heard goof things of unicorn breath, and so quickly went to snatch some for you. Instead, I discovered quickly it was a horse with a hat on it, and it vehemently kicked me for my attempt.

It was there I bought the underwater candle that would promise the dark would never harm you, and the bottled lullaby that would sing you to sleep. He vanished before I could hand over the gold. Such a peculiar fella...
xxx And so, with my treasures in tow, I returned to you, eager to share my presents. I hope you truly love them, my sweet.
