Ian had already somewhat guessed the two were related somehow, but seeing Jordan pull Andy into his arms only confirmed his suspicions. Maybe it was seeing him express some sort of feeling other than the quiet flatness Ian was normally used to, but there was just something about seeing Jordan's emotional response that made the tension in Ian's shoulders ease, just a little. He still hadn't forgiven him, or any of them, not really, but maybe now it would be slightly easier to bear.

He'd almost forgotten Alistaire was there, or maybe he was just trying to pretend that he'd disappeared. Unfortunately for Ian, when he finally dragged his gaze away from Jordan and Andy's reunion, it was to find his brother still standing directly behind him, gloved hands tucked into his dark slacks.

"Go away," said Ian petulantly, as though this might actually have an effect (spoiler: it didn't). Alistaire just rolled his eyes and stood there, but thankfully a distraction came in the form of a much welcome boyfriend.

"Heyyy," Ian said, his voice heavy with relief, though for an instant he remembered the dream in which he'd actually married Shiloh - he hastily and forcefully pushed it away. "Good morning, sweetheart."

He reached for the arm around him and instead took his hand instead, sliding their fingers together and then, half to annoy Alistaire but also half because he wanted to, leaned over to press a quick kiss to his lips in greeting before straightening.

"As you can see, we're having a grand ole' time here," he deadpanned, but his fingers were shaking ever so slightly.

Ah... ah. She lifted a hand, mouth opening to say something about monsters and what not. But not sure where to start in asking about fear and... "Huh..." It was a bit different from what she'd expected. Monsters created from fear. Weren't they all made from that? "So like... vampires and stuff?" She'd seen movies about people who hunted things. And...

Well wasn't she popular today. What she saw though, when she was turned, shut up any sort of comment she might have made. Because the person she found herself looking at was dead. Or should have been. She'd been at the funeral. Dealt with the empty broken feeling it brought to her family again. Cried herself to sleep more than a few nights. Which was why her mouth fell open a bit, only to be snapped shut as Peyton placed a finger on her chin and tilted her head around.

It seemed the disbelief at what they saw was contagious.

She didn't resist the actions, she was too busy processing the fact that before her stood the person they had put into the ground. But they hadn't. Any empty coffin. It had been empty... and... and this was why? Even as she heard the voice she had a hard time understanding what she was hearing. That the familiar nickname WAS correct. Or that maybe she should have properly answered the question. Rather, what came out was her own question. And some tears brimming as it seemed that bit of logic she was using to accept this all was cracking. "You're not dead?" Oh, she was happy, definitely, but... but she wasn't? It had been years and never ONCE did she tell them that she was alive. Try to contact them. Nothing.

And then, even before she could process anything else to say, how to react, what to do she found herself tugged into a hug. Still stunned by it all. What was going on? What strange place had she gone to where the dead showed up again?

Harland was pretty unused to being questioned with this much enthusiasm, and he searched his memory for something that he could throw into the conversation like a fairly blatant smoke-bomb. Mostly because he had absolutely no desire to talk about what had happened in that particular part of his time at Deus. But also because he kind of liked talking to Dylon, and wanted to keep it nice that way. "You don't want to know-- hey, I heard that DC has more complex characters than Marvel... would ye say it's true?" Harland asked, nodding seriously.

He had no idea, he had just heard somebody arguing about that once, and maybe it would distract Dylon.

Dylon laughed, seeming that Harland was reluctant to divulge in gossip. "Actually, I tend to read uh.." And it was now that Dylon was the one embarrassed, "Japanese comic books, not so much American. Don't get me wrong, that universe sounds interesting. It's just hard to follow."

He laughed it off. "I like the movies, though!"

Oliver finally succeeded in getting his coat back. It was a warm, white and gold security blanket, and he sorely regretted throwing it away. Even if it was beeping at him.

The boy pulled it back on and trembled nervously, watching the new people wandering into the area with an anxious furrow between his brows, rummaging blindly in his pockets until he could grab his phone. Two new text messages. The first was from Finn... And the second from Ian. It was... a nice message...

Oliver felt tears come to his eyes, and he wanted to say something to Ian, but he was quickly starting to sniffle and look too pathetic for words.

Harland was immensely relieved yet again: both that Dylon also didn't know anything about American comics (that saved him some bluffing) and that at least they were talking about not-Ian. "Japanese comics? I know nearly nothin' about 'em," he admitted. He literally had never opened one in his life. "Is that the big-eyed stuff? I'm kinda ignorant in this regard, please forgive me," he admitted again, with a sheepish smile.

"I don't watch many movies, unless they're westerns," Harland said, making little pistols with his hands and firing pretend bullets into the air, making quiet pew pew sounds. And then grinning. And then looking a little awkward.

Noah ducked his head a little and nodded. "I'm Noah," he said, and then added, "sir," because one, he was outranked, and two, Gale sounded way older than than his height and appearance might suggest. "Peyton is my girlfriend," he explained, with just a little edge of pride in the statement. "I don't know her sister. I guess she just woke up."

"I'm sorry," she breathed it against blonde curls as she buried her face against the the side of her sister's head, arms squeezing to just this side of too tight. "I'm sorry, Aszy, I'm so sorry." Hearing the question had reminded her what it meant that she was here. It had meant that she had disappeared from her former life, and that had meant either a missing persons report, or a an unexplained death, or whatever it was Deus did to cover up after you signed up to be a part of them. She had forgotten it, because so much had happened since, and because she had convinced herself that they were better off without her. "I'm not dead. They just made you think I was, but I'm not."

Her own eyes were burning now, and she sniffed, trying to hold back the tears, and ending up drowning in the familiar scent that was her sister. They'd shared a room for most of their life, they'd slept together more often than not. She had played sister, mother, guardian, everything to this other human being, and here she was again. Peyton was beside herself.

It was with noted reluctance that she let her grip loosen enough so she could look down at Astrid, and she reached up to brush her thumb at the corner of one of those pretty hazel eyes, wiping away the tear that had been about to fall. "Look how big you've gotten." There, a watery smile, and a tiny laugh, because it was a joke, a shared understanding that they would always be the smallest kids on the block.

She still wanted to know why Astrid was here, and what had happened in her life to make her walk down this path, but right this second it didn't matter. It did, but it didn't. Palms rose cradled tan and freckled kissed cheeks, and she leaned in to lay a kiss on the other girl's forehead. Something she used to do so often, but hadn't been able to in years.

Bix sneezed curiously. It was almost like someone was talking about him.

He glanced over to Gale's midget party and got the sudden urge to distribute beards.

Dylon puffed his cheeks. "You're not giving me a lot to work with here!" He huffed in make believe disgruntlement. "I liked Cowboys and Aliens, though!"

Better agree, Harland. Unless you want him calling Ian over.

He so would.

"Yeah, I know. Solia already told me." He murmured a bit about his smoking addiction, but he could only give a lazy, nonchalant shrug about it. "I don' drink much or do drugs, s'my bad 'abit." A pause, "Well. Besides getting tattooes." He figured, leaning back and flopping his arms over the bleachers, crossing his legs like a lazy, lazy mist hunter.

"Weird dream n' all. I was a Mad 'atter - it was really fun. I 'ad a chainsaw." He explained, nodding contently, kind of missing the revving machine already. "I assume your's was close, oui? Non?" He asked, before turning to Riley.

"I t'ink that's more of an added bonus - no one told me either. Kinn'a an initiation." He offered up, a soft laugh following as he went to shrug it off. As long as she seemed to be unharmed and people were being nice to her.

"It's too bad no one can see those tats under your cute little sweater," Chris snorted, plucking at the extra fluffy material at Dory's hip. It was kind of amazing they could still find the guy in all that knitted goodness.

"Yeah! Definitely close. I was a caterpillar. I had a fluffy cloak and a huge axe," he waggled his eyebrows dramatically, "if you know what I mean. It was fun up until the end there, I guess."

At the girl's insistence he squinted hard at her face, focusing. She was kind of familiar. "Oh! You're in the room right across from mine, right? I'm in 185. What'd you say your name was again?" Knowing people so close to him room gave him people to pick on when he needed to get s**t done.

He stared at Dylon, smiling as if his own head was full of air and rainbows. "Cowboys... and aliens? Together?" he asked, smiling. He probably looked like he'd been chloroformed, by the way he was just sort of dumbly smiling.

He probably hadn't watched a western made past 1975, much less a movie with aliens in it. Ever.

If he knew what Dylon was capable of he would probably have pretended Cowboys and Aliens was his favourite movie ever.

"You've never seen it?" Dylon let out a cry of agony. "You're killing me! I wish I had it! Or a working TV for that matter." He sighed dramatically. Ruffing his own hair he shrugged it off.

"Oh well. Now you know it exists. Be on the lookout! It's the best of both worlds. It was based off a graphic novel, funnily enough. I don't have it though." Maybe there was a western comics lover around Deus who could fill him in here.

Lex stared at the Doctor, his eyes begging the question 'why?" He'd signed up to help humanity, not babysit a bunch of newbies who shouldn't even be awake yet.

< Double pay, whelp. >

<< As if I'll ever see it. >> He snorted to his weapon, shaking his head.
