Rowan shrugged. "My hair's a dead giveaway anyway," he replied. "They'd figure it out sooner or later. It's not like they can use me as a bargaining chip anyway - Dad wouldn't care if they killed me." (Whit's flinch was hardly noticeable, but it was there.) "Besides, almost five minutes means it hasn't been five minutes yet, so they aren't gonna kill anyone just yet." Well, Rowan hoped the terrorists would stick to their own rules anyway.
Seriously, though, where the ******** was Kesi, Egg, and Chione? The elf usually stuck out like a sore thumb, the first thing Egg would do was seek out her friends, and Chione generally just appeared near wherever the rest of them were. Rowan twisted and scanned the crowd, with Whit shifting under him to keep the Lucian balanced.

[✿] Cαввαɢe Woodѕ_━━"Eĸαтerιɴα" .. 1ѕт Yeαr .. xxx→→x Cabbage took Potato's hand with relative glee despite the horror of the situation, smiling a bit tiredly at their tone and nodding in greeting to Rowan. He didn't bother attempting getting on Potato when Rowan slipped off, realizing all of a sudden that he would probably be difficult to carry. Especially for Potato, who was in a really bad state. That was no good!
Only a few more centimeters before I can confess to Potato again. Cabbage thought. He remembered her saying something about only dating people taller than her once, and wondered if it was still true.
Not that it mattered if they died in their current situation, anyways. But the idea of such a thing was so far off and irrelevant to Cabbage that he wasn't the least bit terrified. He couldn't really "die," anyways -- just "cease to exist," which was the way things were supposed to be anyways, right? With those thoughts in mind Cabbage spent a good deal zoning out, head somewhere far into the clouds as Rowan went through his plan. It was only Potato's hissing that snapped him back into reality, and he stroked a reassuring thumb over the back of her hand.
"It's okay, Potato, it's okay." He said soothingly. "If the Pact thought that would work, they probably would have just tried to kidnap Rowan like everybody else does, right?"

Whoa, Amanda hadn't been expecting to get a response. Asha sure had shoved that stick further up her a** since the loss of Kitty. Amanda didn't really see it as a big deal; it wasn't like Kitty was actually gone. If Asha wanted to see her all she had to do was go to Justus. Or maybe Amanda was just too tired to properly process it. Probably both.
Amanda gave Asha a lazy smile. "Nnnnnever a dull moment here, huh?" they replied. "Not long til they kill someone now, right?" Surely it had almost been five minutes. "Wonder if they take volunteers. I volunteer 's tribute 'n all that."

OOC: "Of course they wanna die heartless bastards," Gil muttered at the current discussion. He didn't quite like how Ian used the word 'stoop' as if the council saving however many people was a low thing. Though he guessed that might have been the hex talking. No one yet knew exactly what this one entailed so maybe that was part of it. "So are we going to do something or not? Don't think the Pact will fall for the 'I'm a Lord, I will sign the thing' act? They know their s**t. They probably know that the council doesn't give a ******** about what I or my family has to say on any matter."

 OOC:
End nodded as Muna encouraged him to get a move on. He quickly found Marianne's number in his phone and ducked down so he was out of direct eye line of the Pact. He hit the call button. "Marianne....?" He was trying to stay quiet, but loud enough for the phone to pick up. "Please can you... can you get to the school as soon as possible...? There's... people dying... The Blood Pact is here..."

Rhea"Basically it's like an overstuffed teddy bear," she started but realised that it was a waste of time explaining honestly. Even though he didn't know how everything worked, this guy sort of had a point. "I can."
She lifted her needle into the air. It was tough to call upon any magic. She was an elf, there was still a bit left in her, but she was scraping the bottom of the barrel. She summoned a Blade. A seem ripper. What? It wasn't like she was getting into any fights recently, she may as well have a Blade that was useful to her work than one that would be useful in combat.
She searched the space for a point of entry. Closed rips were hard to find but with a trained eye they could be spotted. And Rhea definitely had that kinda eye. She found one. Not sure where it was going to, but she pushed the seem ripper into the air and pulled it along in a line, revealing the rip behind it.
She stood back at looked at the rip. "Now what?" she addressed James. "You're the ideas man."

► In response to Gil's question, Ian simply shrugged. "Your family doesn't hold much sway with the Council, so I doubt they'll listen. As for what to do, I don't really see a lot of options besides sitting here." Ordinarily Ian would've been more optimistic, but the Pact was pretty damn adept at cutting off possible options and Ian wasn't the most creative idea kid.
Ian eyed Tyme up on top of the Oak; Socket registered magic radiating from their palms. Magic that matched the signature of the sphere. "The one up there's the one controlling the spheres," he said, gesturing. "And with these up we can't really go anywhere. So first step would probably be to find a way to deal with them." ■

James eyed the rip and glanced around at the rest of the staff. There were plenty, but if too many people tried to disappear there'd definitely be trouble. For now, probably just one person...
So James shrugged. "Hop in, hop out, and hope you're outside the sphere I guess? Like I said, I dunno how this dimension s**t works. Maybe you could get to town and get help or somethin', or take on one of the Pact asshats, but you don't look like a hero type t'me. And if it ain't too much trouble," he added, grabbing Andrew by the arm and dragging him forward, "take him with you. Please."

Thane sat in the grass, pulling blades of the stuff with their fingers. Perhaps if they closed their eyes, they could pretend that no one was dead, and that this was just an elementary school fire drill. Actually, never mind. They used to cry through those as well.

Ziza finally tracked down her girlfriend once Baldwin's stench had gotten overpowered. She was expecting to see Camille stock-still. She was not expecting to see a first-year hanging off of Camille's arm.
"Cam! Cam, are you okay?" Ziza rushed over and gave Camille a quick once-over for injuries. She didn't look physically injured, but Ziza could guess the whole situation (and having a stranger latch onto you) was taking a mental toll. Speaking of, Ziza looked at Violet. "And, uh, is... she okay?" ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━┘

xxxx ❥xViolet finally figured out she was making Camille horribly uncomfortable and detached from her arm, steadying herself on her feet. "I-I'm sorry," she stammered again. "I-I didn't mean to - to grab you." She was getting a little more clearheaded now; maybe the nurse had slipped her something to quell the effects and it was just kicking in now. Violet wasn't going to question it.
Now that she could think properly, the whole situation registered clearly in her mind. Violet mulled over their position, over the bad guys, over everything...
"They're cowards," she muttered.

It was quite unfortunate for Violet that Acwel had such good hearing.
The Pact had split up the patrols of the spheres, with Acwel and Michael on the students' sphere and Leah and Thor on the faculty's. Patrol duty was boring, and Acwel had only caught snippets of conversations that had largely uninterested him.
Until now.
Acwel stopped outside the sphere near Camille, Violet, and Ziza, and stood there for a moment. Then, without looking, he said, "Excuse me?"

xxxx ❥xIt took Violet a second to register the scary man in the red coat was talking to her, and then Violet did the natural thing. She froze up, and for a moment her brain didn't work properly. This person was Blood Pact. The Blood Pact took her sister away. The Blood Pact destroyed the Oak and hurt so many people. The Blood Pact was dangerous and scary and Violet didn't like dangerous scary things. Vivian was the one that kept Violet safe from dangerous scary things, but Vivian wasn't here anymore.
Viv wouldn't cower.
It was this thought that restarted the gears in Violet's brain. The tiny elf took a deep breath and set her shoulders back, swiveling to face Acwel.
"I said," she started, a little louder than her usual voice, "you're cowards. You waited until we were out of magic to come here, and then you trapped us like rats." She took a deep breath and thought things over some more. The Pact wasn't supposed to be here so early, and their all-business manner made her wonder if they really were as calm as they appeared. "You're here earlier than you said you'd be. You're desperate," she realized. "You're trying to fix a mistake before anyone realizes you made it in the first place. You're scared, you're resorting to cheap tricks..." She balled her hands into fists.
"You're cowards. I hate people like you."

Acwel's eye twitched. What a charming girl (at least he thought it was a girl from the pitch of voice), striking every nerve at once. "You snot-nosed brat," he said calmly, turning towards the sphere and stepping through, raising a hand. "Realize your place."
