Cadence and Amaryllis had made it all of five feet when another pidgey swooped down and scratched at Cadence with its talons. Luckily Cadence had the sense to throw her arm up in front of her face so the scratches were fairly shallow through her jacket.
Amaryllis narrowed her eyes at the bird pokemon and unleashed another powerful thunderbolt. Raiiiichuuuuu!

"Focus." Koorie barked, but her voice didn't have the same cold edge. Something about having George next to her made her far less edgy than she was before. Still, seeing the next incoming bird, she swung with an open hand and deflected it with a hard contact. "George, GO!"
Seeing her smack one out of the way and Laz saw another coming and dropped that one quickly. He smiled happy he was surrounded by such capable ladies. So he took off into the opening they had created dragging Koorie with him trying to take advantage of space.
Remy finally got a good hit in again and downed another bird, letting the duo run a bit farther. Now it was just a little under half way before they could get to a balloon.

Oh come on! This was just getting ridiculous! Amaryllis and Cadence had made it halfway to the balloons before getting attacked by another pidgey, which was taken care of just as quickly as the two before it. Would they never learn?

All of Magnolia's cries and flails came to no avail; the Pidgey still had her at its mercy. Even Rho couldn't help, too frightened to even budge.
Michelle was starting to seriously dislike Pidgey. They got stopped again when a trio of Pidgey dived at them. She covered her head with both arms this time since one got too close for comfort by her face.

"R-Rho!" Magnolia screamed to her Pokemon, suddenly breaking him from his fright. "Use Slash! Hurry!"
Rho swallowed his pride and fear and first used Hone Claws. His talons glowed bright and elongated to long and curved and glinted like knives. He then made a swipe at the Pidgey using Slash. He cuffed the bird right under the beak. It screeched and took back to the air, melding with the group of birds again.

Another swing, and another bird deflected. Koorie felt her arm bing pulled in a direction by George and her legs followed automatically. "Keep going!"
Remy turned and clawed at a Pidgey that was heading for his tail then Michelle and him started running again. Not too much farther! Now if only they can get by with out getting attacked again.
George had stopped suddenly as he was attacked from multiple angles, Laz had dropped one but he got smacked by another one as he had to deflect the birds. Sadly he had to let go of Koorie to try and defend himself. At least they were attacking him and not her. His leather duster would protect him from their claws for the most part.
Remy saw a Pidgey heading for them just as they almost reached the balloon and with a furious hiss, launched his self and bit it. "Nice one!" Michelle said then jumped into the first balloon they cam across, Remy jumping in right after.
