She wondered how long she could keep going for before she collapsed of exhaustion.
Fortunately, it didn't seem like that that was her concern any longer as something grabbed her, pulling her down into the darkness.

She had been so certain that that was the end for her, but as she fell, she soon came to realize that the fog was slowing her down. Before long, she landed safe and sound on solid ground.
The orbs again. Looking between them, she quietly approached one, accepted its blessing, and allowed herself to be brought back up to the surface.
"Stop it." She yelled out, going to punch further, trying to stop the ache and pain that the creature reminded her of, not wanting to hear it anymore, giving an unhappy sound.
Grabbing the blade, Aeru pulled the blade toward him and the fog-face into his fist sending it reeling backwards. However, it's laughter stopped.
"What's the matter?"

But it just kept attacking, it's unknowing endless pain taking it's everything and just pushing her away as she tried to stop it. But she would not stop.
With each strike, the monster's laughter returned and grew with a consistency unlike his own that only came from hurting the fog-face. This thing was more mad than he was!

With slashes and punches, laughter and cries of pain broke out into the air.

Sickly laughter was music to them at this point, their joy was the pain of the other and the infliction of the damage done. Their pain and sorrow were ethereal as the fog that surrounded them. All that matter was them in this moment of time.

He was beginning to feel it now. Both of them were... they were running out of steam, but they did not relent. With each swing their laughter was more of enjoyment than the madness that came with it.

With a throwing punch, the fog-face caught it with his blade and responded with a quick counter. It would seem that the fog-face was getting the upperhand!

The fog-face was playing defensive now. The laughter from the Ruin-hearted ceased as he groaned and panted, clutching his wounds. This wasn't so fun anymore and the madness he once felt, that sickening joy, was easing up.

With a painful cry, he punched forward with a hard one-two to the fog-face's face sending it reeling backwards and landing a bit away. The madness was back. That joy was back. The pain was no longer a worry.

With another punch, the fog-face disappeared instantly in a wisp of smoke and back to the wall of fog that surrounded them. He did not appear concerned, he appeared happy and at the same time annoyed that his friend had left him. Their game wasn't over yet, why did he leave? Perhaps it is time to find a new friend to play with. Yes, yes, yes... a new friend to play with.
