Ok, that's fine, what should I do for it then? If you don't want it to be an RP character, that's fine, because I may not have time to do an RP, plus I am not too sure how.
I think I will do a mask, that has a long tail on the back and mini shoulder wings, but no arms this time. I can't submit everything with that design even though it's a great design. Something else I thought about were be a fake second pair of arms in the general skin colors. We don't really have anything that will give you two sets.
You could also do Halloween candy buckets, we don't have any creative ones, and handhelds like that are ok.
Edit: also your designs are great, they will add some variety to the shop. People do like sleeves that alter other sleeves too.

Yeah XDDDD for both of us, RPs are not our strong points.
But you can RP your character if you wanted though.

............I really like your mask idea D: <3
Anything that will give tails AND wings would be super awesome!
Especially in colors that are not so common with current dragons/animals?
But still in colors within Gaia's palette so it can be easily worn with other
items already in the site.

I sucks at items though. XD But candy buckets would be cool too!

Second pair of arms? Kind of like attachable Shiva arms? *___*
Nice. I don't think we have anything like that yet!

Thanks Katze! >>; I always keep looking for sleeves
and most of the ones we do have are either super expensive,
for females, or the wrong color.

I should teach you to pixel, it's actually pretty easy. If those artists complain about that aspect of their work they are just lazy. To get what I get, I just shrink what I draw down to fit the small base, using paint tool sai and it's stretch tool isn't even as good as PS's. I clean up the edges with the binary tool, and then just kind of repaint parts, locking the opacity to make sure I don't color outside the lines. It's a faster process then the actual drawing.

What is this binary tool you speak of? XD
---only uses Open Canvas v4.

But shrinking...that I can do. XD

Do you have an email? I can send you Paint Tool Sai, a version that is portable, that doesn't need to be installed. This one will save transparencies too, since there is one floating around that does not have the capability to. I can also show you a free version of photoshop CS2. Your supposed to own it, but I don't make money off the use of PS anyways, and only found this like last week.

Here is the CS2 download.

I actually have both programs. XD
But I only use PS for photo editing.
And.....I never got used to SAI.
Waaay too different from Open Canvas
that drawing in it makes me feel so lost
and uncomfortable D:

But thanks for the offer though!

I used to use open canvas, but I always found that my lineart was kind of fuzzy, and trying to paint realistically was hard. I found out about Sai and started to use it. Now it's all I use. It's got better tablet recognition then PS does. Jeez, I hate PS for lineart. Maybe it was my crappy computer, but I couldn't ever get it to work well.

I can show you a lot about it, I like it's line stability. It's taken me a while to figure it out, so don't feel bad. I finally figured out what a lot of the adjustments on some of the tools do. Anyways, the binary tool is preset to only use block brushes, and it's opacity adjuster works as an eraser rather than a brush. I shrink things down and then use that tool to get rid of the anti-aliasing on the edges and fill any areas that need to be reshaped or whatever, and use the pen tool to redo some spots.

I'm an artist. But artist jargon just flew over my head. OTL
Sorry I think I totes missed out on half of that explanation.

Yeah that's what I noticed about Sai...very nice lineart. *____*
Super smooth pen strokes.

>>; But.............just couldn't get used to the painting style.
I think it's because unlike you...XD I don't use painterly style
in my art.

Yeah, I had to figure out what it all meant too. I'd be reading tutorials, and have no idea what people were talking about. Binary is just another term, I think, for a pixel. I dunno, your Sai has one, I just read the preset names. Opacity is just the word for how much you can see through things. 100% opacity = completely visible 20% would not be very visible, you'd be able to see through the layer a lot. Aliasing is the term for the fuzzy pixels on your line art. It's what makes it soft looking instead of harsh pixel lines. You have to remove the soft edges on shrunken art turn it into pixel art is all...

Ooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhh XD
I see. Thanks for the explanation Katze!
I'm more a do-er than an instruction manual reader. >>;
I poke at button and see how stuff works rather
than read the manual.

But I think I sort of get how it would work on Open Canvas. OvO

I learned a lot of it from trial and error too, and from reading tutorials that mention them. One of my classes in high school was a computer/audio visuals class, and she basically gave us a program to learn, and make a tutorial on in two weeks, until we learned all the software she had. Learning Adobe Flash in two weeks is not possible lol. I only was able to complete photoshop because I used it at home.

Our computer classes were waaaaaaaaaaaaay easier. XD
Usually just dealt with basic microsoft office programs
and that was it.

So you drew up your entries for Halloween?

Not yet, I have to finish a Commission, I was given a 12 dollar tip, so I'm getting it done first. I might sketch it tonight, but that OC commission is my priority. I have worked on redoing the previous entry, I think using the words "masked bolero" will definitely give it more appeal, and I changed the way some of them look.

There's still a lot of time.
Might think about making more entries. XD
Have some sketches up for a belt and a mask idea in my crosstitch thread...
but not sure if I will go through with it. They are less risky than
my sleeves ideas.

Ooooh nice tip! OvO
RL > Gaia XD so yeah.

I am excited to see how you improved your entries though!

You might be surprised. There could be a lot of masks entered this year causing your sleeves to be more original or vice versa. I'd have to spend a lot of time on a dress to ever enter one, everyone does dresses.

XD Yeah but my mask covers the lower half of the face
instead of the whole or upper half of the face. >>;
Because for me....we don't have much of that item. D:
Only the medical masks, the bandit ones and the ninja items.

But yeah when you're trying for an item which most people
will try with....you need a whole new level.

Also..have you checked out the other entries?
I see so many many literal pumpkin dresses it kind
of makes me sad. X__x
