Please, call me Koko
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

A sleek silver car pulled up a little ways away from the estate, shutting off a few moments after. A white tiger slipped out of the passenger door, and a moment later, a tan skinned male with white hair from the other. The white feline closed her door with her whole body, waiting for the man to come around before they approached the manor together. He'd heard of this place a while back, and a coworker of his suggested he seek out company. While this wasn't the more orthodox method, it seemed like a good idea. Though thinking of the turn of events before he left, maybe not so much.

Koko had a shiny red split in his skin just below his left collarbone, curving smoothly from one end to the other. Riley hadn't been happy when he saw Sarah, the white tiger, leaving with him instead of the cheetah himself. It ended with Alex settling his massive form on top of the young cat to let Koko and Sarah out the door.

Shaking his head slightly, Koko reached the top of the steps with Sarah at his heels, approaching the steely-eyed butler who requested he state his business. He murmured his response, short and simple, and was led inside, following the butler until he came to a room with a languid looking woman inside. Again he stated his business, elaborated on request ( from the "lovely Ms. Athena Pallas" ) and was told where to go and what to do. Once in the halls, Koko let his tiger lead the way, following her nose as the guards eyed her warily. Eventually she curved, stopping just before she head butt the door. Lifting her head, she sat and looked back at Koko until he opened the door. Letting her open the door a little, both of them stuck their heads inside to find a small woman with faded Scarlett hair occupying the room.

"Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt..."

It had been four days since she'd been brought here and Aileen guessed that it could have been a lot worse of a place. The room was sort of like a hotel room, the bathroom pretty nice too, and she was trying hard to think of this as some sort of vacation until her parents found out and got her out of this. Surely they would, she told herself. She was their daughter, they'd notice she was missing. One of the servants would tell them and they'd fly right back home and figure out what had happened...they'd have to drag it out of her brother first, and she wasn't sure if he'd be so willing to tell them, once he found out she was taken for his damn debts. A sketch pad sat on the bed where she'd left it when she had finally gotten up out of bed after sitting around all morning in the pajamas she was given. What was the point of getting up? No one even made her, a tray of food was brought in at mealtimes and that was it. She could hear people walking back and forth sometimes, but it was hardly busy and no one had even come into her room.

She'd just gotten dressed, toweling her hair dry and tossing it onto a nearby chair, when she heard footsteps again. Aileen looked up when they didn't walk past, frowning a bit nervously. Was it her parents? There was hope in her chest and she jumped when something banged against the door. It wasn't a very loud noise, but it still startled her and she moved to put the bed between her and whomever was on the other side of the door. Aileen had no idea what sort of people were here, who bought slaves, what the other slaves were...she was barely aware there were things other than human here and was still working through that, having never met anyone but a human before in her life. Being kidnapped and sold into slavery was enough of a shock - finding out that there really were things that existed that weren't human was just icing on the cake and a bit much for her at this point. So she had shoved that into the back of her mind, working on dealing with everything else.

When a white tiger poked its head in, a man's head above it, her eyes widened and she wasn't sure whether to be terrified or curious. "He-hello?" she stammered out, running a hand through her hair. It was more shock than actual fear - after all, the tiger wasn't attacking her or something. Slowly edging around the bed, but staying near the post, she looked between them and blinked a few times, as if trying to see if they would disappear or something. "I'm Aileen," she introduced herself automatically, not sure what they were doing here.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

At the stuttered greeting, Sarah's ears immediately stood up, her nostrils flaring. Koko gazed unblinking at the young woman in the room, imitating her surprised expression. Sniffing subtly as well, Koko realized that this girl was human. Red brown irises, fair skin, and clean clothes. The male's eyes wandered around the rest of the room after noticing these little details. The room looked like a hotel suite. The bed was large with a high thread count, the room and walls were furnished, there was a door to what he assumed led to the bathroom. These slaves were very nicely accommodated, he was impressed. He made a mental note to compliment Ms. Pallas on her choice of arrangements for the... guests. They couldn't have been that miserable. Of course, most if not all were probably here against their will so he supposed they were.

Koko snapped his attention back to the occupant of the room when he heard her feminine voice again, an introduction this time. This time looking at her he realized her hair was damp and she had a fresh look about her face, droplets of water on her shirt. Sarah and Koko glanced at each other before Sarah shouldered the door open more to get into the room, leaving her companion hanging onto the doorjamb before following behind her calmly.
"Hello Aileen," he replied, watching as Sarah padded over to the slave at a mild pace, sniffing at her from a closer distance.

"My name is Koko, and that is Sarah." he continued shortly, gesturing to the white tiger with his head. What would he say to her after that, though? It's pleasant to meet you? He didn't think that would go well, considering the circumstances. How are you? Same ending. Ask about her? Too much of a jump start. But then he remembered most people's reactions to large jungle creatures. "Do not be afraid of her, she is very tame. I apologize for the sound, she was not watching where she was going."

"Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt..."

More intrigued than terrified, as she guessed most people would be when a huge tiger came into their room, Aileen blinked a bit and her gaze went from the tiger to the man when he said that Sarah wouldn't hurt her - and had walked into the door. She couldn't help but giggle a bit at the mental image that presented her with and she held a hand out to the tiger to sniff if she wanted it. What she really wanted to do was hug her, but Aileen wasn't quite suicidal yet and didn't think the dignified beast would enjoy that very much, especially from a stranger. Still wondering what they were doing in her room, the young woman tucked some hair behind her ear with her other hand, looking back to the tiger. "I think he's making fun of you," she said with another short laugh, that didn't have any hint of nervousness in it despite the fact she was looking at a creature that could easily break her back just by jumping on her.

Aileen noticed he had a scratch on him and wondered if it was from the tiger or something else. He looked sort of odd, the eyes and hair and black marks on him made him seem definitely...not human. While that was sinking in, the human girl moved into a crouch so she was more at an eye-level with the tiger, looking at her curiously. "You are so gorgeous..." she murmured in admiration, before bouncing to her feet and moving over to the bed. Jumping on it, she grabbed up her sketchpad and the pencil she'd taped to it - how often was she going to get an opportunity like this? Bouncing to her knees and kneeling on the bed, she ignored the man completely and looked at the tiger, not even looking back down at the pad as her pencil began to move on the paper, making a soft scratching sound. She checked after a minute or two, but the human girl had come to the conclusion that she did a lot better when she didn't constantly check herself and make herself paranoid about screwing up.

It didn't take her long at all before she scooted of the bed and carefully moved over to him, still a bit wary despite her eagerness to show him. And looking over at Sarah, wondering what the big cat thought of her. "I've never had the chance to see a tiger up close," Aileen told him, handing over the pad for him to see. It was his tiger, after all. Or was he her...not human, but person? Sometimes animals were more the masters, after all. The sketch was amazingly detailed of Sarah, with Kazuo in the background, a less-detailed figure, but it was still clearly him, scratch and all. Waiting for some appraisal of it, Aileen turned her attention back to the tiger. "Do you boss him around a lot?" she asked, tilting her head a bit and resting her elbows on her knees as she crouched down again, holding out her palm again for the tiger.

Sarah sniffed each finger, her palm and up to her wrist, ears flicking up when the human laughed. At her words, the tiger paused before turning her head and snapping her teeth at Kazuo. Though she sat back, surprised, when the girl suddenly jumped to her feet, practically scrambling for the bed. She and the weretiger glanced at each other briefly before he shrugged, her turning back to the bed. She was met with an unwavering stare, something below her scratching swiftly and quietly. Sarah held the other female's gaze steadily, remaining perfectly stationary as she was being spectated. Kazuo simply looked surprised, but intrigued as he watched the pencil flit back and forth across the paper, Aileen barely glancing at it as she documented Sarah's still form. Probably the only reason she got her to do that was because their eyes were locked.

Chuckling quietly, Kazuo crossed his arms over his chest, leaning against the wall by the door and waiting for her to finish, observing the stare down. A lot of people knew not to look large animals straight in the eye like that, as it was usually taken as a challenge. He guessed it was probably the look on the young human's face that kept Sarah immobile. Though Aileen broke the eye contact soon enough, inching off the bed in his direction. Kazuo blinked a coupled of times as he realized this, leaning forward slightly as he noticed her holding out the sketch pad to him. His expression changed to one of surprise as his eyes searched the immense detail etched into the paper. The image of a white tiger, sitting docile, staring directly at her. She even included a vague image of him off to the side, not the focus of the image, but detailed enough to be recognizable.

Noticing the certain details, his hand came up absently, brushing the edge of the accident Riley left him with. Nodding his head in approval,
"That is a wonderful piece. Did you pursue a career in art?" he asked, watching as she crouched down to Sarah's height again, he huffed a quiet laugh when Sarah dove her nose into the open palm, nuzzling Aileen's hand enthusiastically, now up on all fours with her eyes closed. Kazuo's ears stood at attention at her question."Not really. I ask them to do things for me, but it's not much. They get their way when they want something, too."

The man was nothing less than a ball of nerves as he asked the young woman before him if she'd consider his offer. Heck, the whole idea of asking a woman in general to come live with him had been almost short of insane. A male would have been the more logical option, but how many males liked cats that wouldn't come onto him? It wasn't like he was against the idea of same-sex relationships, it was just that Kaelan didn't see the idea of a relationship as something that would happen to him any time soon. Once he died the idea of love seemed to have died with his old self, the old ideals of romance, courtship and companionship just didn't appeal to him. Sure he appreciated the companionship from Pandora, but that was a completely different kettle of fish altogether. Watching the woman - who's name was Catalina - he tried to pick up any micro-expressions on her face. His own face has shifted slightly, a ghost of a smile, when she had finally mentioned her name. It was beautiful, and the irony wasn't lost on him; Cat would be looking after a cat. Feet beginning to bounce as Catalina considered his offer, he noticed her face change slightly. Relief crossed when he'd mentioned what Pandora was - which was probably a huge relief lifted off her shoulders - but it was the curving of her lips that made his legs stop bouncing as he sat stiff and silent in the chair he'd chosen. She'd go with him. Staring at the girl as she tucked her hair behind her ears, eyes drifting down to the floor, Kaelan just sat there staring for a good few moments. Sure it was a little weird to just stare at her, but at least she couldn't see what he was doing, so it wasn't totally awkward. Just a little odd on his side. What snapped him out of his little stunned stare was a set of claws gently tugging at his ankle. Looking down at Pandora, the fluffy cat rolled onto her back and waved her paws up in the air with a gentle meow. Nodding at the cat, Kaelan stood up slowly with the folder in his hands. He really had no need for it, he'd just wanted it to jerk the guard around a little and to try and act like a big man. Kaelan wasn't a big man, or confident in any way, but he was good at faking it when the time was right.

"Cat-Catalina, it is a-a pleasure to meet you." His own voice seemed to mimic her soft spoken tone, even if his lilting Irish tone carried his nerves with it. Shifting the folder between his hands, the masked man shuffled on the spot for a moment, unsure of what to do or say for a moment. Clearing his throat, he adjusted the mask and finally spoke up, his voice still rather soft and unsure. "I-If you would, please follow me. Pandora will guide you, she's good at guiding sp-... People." Nearly slipping up, Kaelan managed to avoid saying the word 'spirit' for the time being. He wasn't too keen on telling the woman what he did as a "job" just yet. Admittedly it wasn't totally a job, more like a forced occupation. But he did get the occasional call out to a church or a home that had something going bump in it. It wasn't the biggest paycheck ever, but somehow, the Universe had a way of taking care of him. Agents dropping off packages for him, regular deposits of money into his account depending on how many souls he saved versus condemned. Wherever work sent him, he had to go. Unless work found it's way to him in his little sanctuary, then it was another story. Usually those were the souls that had been stuck in the mortal realm for far too long. Those were the ones that sought out Pandora as well. Clearing his throat, Kaelan looked to his cat. "Pandora, please guide her." Usually those words would have been more along the lines of 'Pandora, please guide the spirits to their safety', but he could tell his familiar knew what he was saying, for the fluffy cat promptly made her way over to Catalina, and with a reassuring mew, used her fluffy body to help guide the girl around the room and out the door - only if she needed it though. Kaelan on the other hand flipped up his hood and made his way back out into the hallway, pausing to make sure the blind young woman was following.

The guard hadn't needed any prompting, and the trio plus Pandora made their way down the halls to where Kaelan would complete the transaction. Fingers trembling as he handed over a cheque for Catalina, the man just didn't know how to feel about all this. Buying a life just wasn't right. It felt like he was handing over money for livestock, or for a pet. She would be neither to him, but the feeling was making him most uncomfortable. Growing irritable at the funny looks a few guards were giving him, Kaelan huffed to himself, his irritation making him anxious and uncomfortable. He wanted to get home as soon as possible. Fingers flexing under his cloak, the man was trying so hard to keep his emotions under control. Once outside the manor, the man stopped and turned his face to the sky a little, his hood shifting off his face as he inhaled deeply. "We will be catching a taxi to the train station. From there, the train will take us as close to my home as possible. The rest of the travel will be by ferry." Tipping his head back down, Kaelan's voice wasn't quite as calm and controlled as before. It was edgy, quavering and quite irritable; definitely nothing like the soft-spoken Irish tone earlier. This was one of Kaelan's flaws, his irritation caused his personality to change. His insecurity about his physical abnormality tended to over-ride rational thought. His hatred of his curse caused him to lash out at people when they didn't deserve it. Kaelan didn't want to lash out at Catalina, she was already damaged thanks to whatever it did to cause her to be send down in a human form, her eyesight taken from her, but he was trying very hard not to treat her like a misbehaving child and just drag her along by her arm. "We.. We need to hurry now. P-Please don't dawdle, Pandora will guide you." Speaking quickly, Kaelan made his way to the taxi bay, hailing a shining black cab that would take them to the train station on the other side of town. It was going to be a long journey.

Ta-daaaa~ If you could post here once more, I'll post my next reply in his home thread ;D

The kid was peppy, that much was obvious. And obviously a total sweetie-pie, as the mermaid simply absorbed the compliment about her name without so much as a bat of an eyelid. She felt just a little bad for ignoring his question about her native language, but she put it down to simple curiosity and because she was so certain he would go running off crying with her little rant, she didn't think twice about it. What really surprised Selena was how the short thing didn't skip a beat and immediately commented on her hydromancy. Blinking in surprise, all she could simply do was turn on the spot and place her bright eyes straight onto this cheerful little thing. Staring wide-eyed at this fast-talking boy, Selena found herself oddly amused that her basic skills caused this little ball of energy so much joy. The mention of him missing using magic himself made the woman's lips curl into a slight grin, but the smile was replaced with a frown of curiosity. It seemed this blonde shortie disliked humans, and likewise for his sister. Well that was a start - at least he wasn't human. That was the biggest bonus. Crossing her arms and leaning against one of the canopy bed's posts, Selena just watched this strange being natter on. Canting an eyebrow as he cheekily commented on her rant before, she snorted in amusement as he admitted he let her rant on because what she had to say seemed important. It was to her, but each to their own she guessed.

What was said next greatly shocked the mermaid. His smile, the kind of smile that crinked the tiny muscles in the corner of one's eyes, was more than enough to show that he was happy, his excited words just sealed the deal. He wasn't a tycoon, but he felt flattered at the idea (the notion was quite absurd to Selena since she was quite sure tycoons were all a bunch of twats). The only child theory was totally thrown out the window the second he mentioned his sister earlier, but he went over that fact just in case. What was really making her curious now was the mention of things keeping him busy. What were 'they'? And why were 'they' keeping him busy and occupied? Were they pets? Customers? Damn her curious nature, she really wanted to know! Yet, when the little being shut his trap and sat on the floor in front of his pool, yet again all she could do was stare. He was such an odd one, nothing like the other people that had previously been interested in her, and it was trapping her into him. She was finding herself wanting to know more about this little thing, wanting to know what he did and mainly what he was. Her arms were no longer tightly crossed around her torso, but loosely and calmly, like they were simply there because she didn't know what to do with them. This kid was just a surprise wrapped in a mystery, especially when he talked about stuff sitting around not working; finally answering what 'they' were thankfully.

The short male jumping to his feet sent Selena stumbling back in shock, her arms unwrapping from her torso to help her balance herself. Staring like a deer caught in headlights as this little blonde just blurted out some information about wanting an assistant and did she want to be his assistant because it sounded - to him -so much better than being a trophy pet or a prize. Okay, so maybe it could have been nothing more than a lie since she did rant quite openly about how much she hated the idea of being a trophy again. About to give a long and smart-assed reply to this offer, the mermaid was yet again thrown another curve ball. He had no parents. So what, did that mean he was an orphan? He really didn't seem to give two shits about it if he was, which made her think there was another reason behind his parentless situation. His offer did sound pretty tempting though, and she really didn't want to be stuck in this place for much longer, especially if it mean she might get taken by some old p***k who just wanted a pretty girl to look at. There was just a few things she wanted to clear up first. Settling herself on the floor in front of the pool, Selena dipped her fingers into the water, swirling them around as she watched her reflection ripple and distort. "You legitimately don't want me as a pet or prize hey?" She asked quietly, her abrasive demeanor slightly diminished. Twirling her fingers in the water simply to feel the cool liquid against her skin, she kept her blue eyes fixed on the rippling water. "I just... Have to know a few things. What are you? Like, seriously, because you said you miss using magic? Also, what would I be assisting you with? Can you give me any detail or anything? Will there be water for me to swim in?"

This was quite out of character for Selena, to be talking so much. But then again it was just so she could find out what she was getting herself into to, so all this talking really was necessary. So win-win really? Besides, it didn't necessarily mean she had to keep up the chatty facade once she left the room. She could just drop back into her quiet and reserved ways if she did decide to leave with this shorty. And where was this sister anyway? Was she with the little chatty one? Or was she at home waiting for him to return with his spoils from the slave manor. All sorts of condescending thoughts ran through Selena's mind, but one couldn't really blame her. There was a lot of reasons for Selena to distrust basically everyone that stepped foot into her manor room, and although it was all her own fault, it didn't make it pointless. The mermaid was pretty positive that the chatty one was seriously just looking for an assistant, maybe one to help him reach things on high shelves. That singular thought nearly made the woman chuckle out loud, but she controlled herself. It would be rude to laugh at someone's disadvantage when she was in such a disadvantaged state herself. Finally looking up and away from the water, Selena stared at the short blonde. "What's your name? I didn't catch it before... I'm sorry." It was also quite odd for the mermaid to admit that she was sorry for something, but missing the kid's name was quite a bit deal, and her regret showed in the way her face fell. It was relaxed, sure, but her eyes sort of told that she felt like a bit of a moron for totally missing his name thanks to her huge angry rant.

If he hadn't been so absorbed in the colour of Aine's hair, Drayce might have seen the flicker of surprise and offence cross over her bright eyes that widened momentarily. It had been the smallest clue to what she was, and the dragon had totally missed it, too absorbed in the bright fire coloured locks to really care about minute facial expressions. The man pulled himself together though when her voice pipped up, and a grin crossed his face. "Aine. Irish origin. Pronounced awn-ye. What a beautiful name. Do pardon me being so bold, but a woman of such radiance deserves a name that matches her perfectly." Listening to Drayce talk was quite odd; it was a mix of medieval politeness with a dash of gentlemanly grace finished off with modern day flattery. Flicking some of his unruly hair away from his face as he commented on her name, the male took a moment to look around the room. It was a fine room, almost luxurious enough for his tastes. It truly was a room to be proud of. Plus it didn't make him feel dirty for being in it. Wandering around the room a little more, Drayce stopped by the window and turned around to smile at Aine. "So! You're a curious one, aren't you? You are comprised of so many elements I can't tell what you are! Well, that's a lie, I have a few little ideas." Chuckling to himself, Drayce looked out the window for a moment, grinning to himself. If Aine could stand up to his personality, then there might be hope for this place after all. It didn't bother him if he left empty handed or not, but he really would rather leave with something that would keep his boredom sated.

"So what I'm going to do is list some things that you might be and see if I get it right, you don't have to answer, I just want to have some fun. Okay? Okay! Good." Back to aimlessly wandering around her room, Drayce kept his violet-blue eyes on the redhead as he began to formulate a list in his mind. "Alright... Fire, Earth and Wind... Hmmm. It's got to be something that matches all three, but there aren't that many that would end up in here unless it was accidental." To be honest, Drayce was talking mostly to himself than Aine, voicing his thoughts out loud as he wandered about, his feet unable to keep still. "Let's see... A desert dragon? No... You'd be more Earthy. Hmmm... A fire Fae? Nah, you're too Earthy for that. Ooo, a lava nymph! No, they'd never be able to keep you in here safely, you'd burn the place up and turn it all into ash! That leaves some kind of fire dragon, magma dragon or a phoenix." Thankfully this time Drayce wasn't too absorbed in what he was doing to miss the micro expression that passed Aine's face when he said 'phoenix'. Even if she didn't voice her answer, the male could tell he had hit the nail on the head. "Oooo!! You're a Phoenix! How absolutely amazing!" He may have sounded like an overly excited schoolboy at this point, but Drayce was generally excited. His own kind's lifecycle was very similar to a phoenixes, and as times passed and his kind developed the ability to shift forms, many of his kind found a phoenix mate as they were one of the only near-permanent mates they could have.

"You would love my chateau. It's all warm and open and I have hot springs that are just wonderful." Using his hands to talk, it seemed that Drayce was becoming more interested in the idea of taking this phoenix home with him. "And what's better is we're so similar! Both children of fire and air! Oh you are just so perfect." Eyes travelling over the redhead once again, the man just couldn't believe his luck. A phoenix! Of all things for him to stumble upon in this place, and he found the one thing as rare as he was. Spying a footstall that was all plush and seat-worthy, Drayce planted himself firmly on the stall and looked up at Aine with a cheery smile. "Do forgive me, miss Aine, but I have not let you get a word in. How about you tell me all about yourself, hmm? I've only found boring people in this place so far. I don't want some boring, braindead thing that either is hooked on sex or is just too nervous to make a sound." Leaning forward expectantly, Drayce was pretty damn happy. Sure this was utterly different to his usual behaviour, but the idea that he wouldn't be going home alone brought out a happier side to Drayce that hadn't been around in quite a long time, and it felt nice. Oh, it didn't mean it would linger for long, it just depended on how Aine answered his question and accepted his almost over-the-top excitement. Okay, so maybe the excitement was just a little forced, but Drayce was just so bored at home. He really needed something to keep him sane.

"Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt..."

Aileen's slightly-nervous expression relaxed enormously when the tiger began to nuzzle her hand, and her eyes lit up. Smiling now, she moved her other hand over to the tiger as well, running her fingers through the thick white fur slowly, appreciating getting to touch her. Listening to his question, and then when he mistook her question to Sarah to him, she giggled a bit again and enjoyed having a massive tiger nuzzle her. She guessed she was deemed worthy of it or something, and it made her glad. Lately Aileen had just felt so worthless to everyone that even a tiger wanting her to pet her was a nice thing for her as she smiled and wished she could just hug the tiger and tell her how much better she felt just by this alone. But she wasn't going to initiate something like that and overstep her boundaries, although she was really wishing she knew why they were there.

"I was talking to Sarah," she told the man, sounding amused, when he said he didn't ask them to do much. She sort of had a feeling the big cat bossed him around and - "Them?" Aileen repeated, registering his choice of words. Looking from Sarah to him for a moment, she looked up at him with wide eyes. "Do...you have more cats? Big ones?" she asked. She'd thought it was illegal, but she was hardly going to say that to someone at a place like this. Wasn't this illegal too, after all? No one here seemed to care much for the law, or at least the human sort of law she'd grown up with. But still...she could see why people would want big cats like this, they were gorgeous. And Sarah was so nice, letting her pet her, the human's fingers curled up in the fur as she was nuzzled.

Thinking on it, she looked back to the tiger for a few minutes, smiling at the praise. "I was going to school for my art degree, actually," Aileen told him, a hint of longing in her voice. She'd had her entire life just yanked away from her and she hated it. "Why are you here?" she asked him, deciding it'd be best just to bite the bullet and ask what they were doing in the room she was in. She'd like to say 'her room', but she knew it really wasn't. Just a temporary place until...well, until what, she wasn't really sure.

Sarah flicked her ears once Aileen clarified who she was speaking to. A deep rumbling sounded in her throat when the human started petting her, sitting down on her back paws. Kazuo simply looked amused at Sarah's behavior. His ears stood up again once more as well at her words. He shrugged, settling back against the wall. "Yeah, I have two other ones at home." The weretiger deduced that if Sarah liked her, then Alex probably would too. Though he wasn't sure how high her energy level or durability were, considering she was human, so there was a chance they'd have to find another "slave" before they left. Though he was debating whether to send Sarah to find it by herself, or leave the feline with Aileen while he ventured off.

Sarah practically bathed in the attention as the human answered Koko's question. Though she heard the sad note in her voice and opened her eyes, gazing up at the redhead with her nose still in her palm. Kazuo sighed softly, ears standing downward slightly.
"To take you away from this place, but not to take you back to your previous home, I'm afraid." Sarah made a soft sound in agreement, lifting her head from Aileen's open hand only to tackle the girl to the floor, settling on top of her comfortably and huffing through her nose. "We decided that we could use a little company, you see." he added, nodding at Sarah, looking a little surprised and amused at the same time.

"Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt..."

So he did have more. He couldn't be a horrible person, then, because Aileen was a firm believer in the idea that animals wouldn't have anything to do with a nasty person. But then why was he in a place like this? Listening to him, her smile dimmed a bit when he said he wasn't going to take her home, as she'd been about to ask if maybe he could. Her parents would pay him, even more than what he'd pay for her, she knew it, if he took her home. But it sounded like he wasn't going to consider it and her eyes watered. Before she had a chance to cry, the tiger her tackled her and an 'oof' escaped her in surprise.

"I see," Aileen managed, not sure what to say to being told she was being bought because they wanted company. She impulsively hugged the tiger loosely, since she was on top of her anyway, and felt a little better. It wasn't so much that she missed her parents or brother - but she missed her normal life, having her freedom, her friends and all of it. Although, she had no idea where she even was at this point. She could be in a different country entirely. "I guess she likes me?" she asked Kazuo, looking at him underneath the tiger and not sounding the least bit bothered by being sat on.

Aine didn't notice how caught up he seemed to be in her hair color or she might have tried to use that to her advantage somehow. She wanted to get out of this place, badly, and a spectral dragon – well. That wasn't likely to happen again, at least not for a few lifetimes anyway. As he babbled about her name, she blinked. She'd chosen it a few hundred years ago, liking how it sounded and what it meant, and had stuck with it for a while now. Watching as he moved about the room, the phoenix crossed her arms underneath her breasts and tapped her toe a bit, the heel silent against the plush rug underneath their feet. He seemed a bit more hyper than other dragons she had met, spectral or otherwise, and wondered if he was on something. Tending to think the worst of people usually benefited her in some way in the end and she had no reason to think much of a dragon like him being in this sort of a place. What, was his personality so horrid that he couldn't find someone to be with him – well, wasn't that calling the kettle black, she had to admit to herself, only half-listening as he continued to say something about how he had ideas as to what she was. Well, good for him, she thought absently. If he was as old as his hair color suggested, he'd figure it out at some point, unless he was hopelessly stupid. Normally, if someone was hopelessly stupid, she'd give them a bit of a singe to send them on their way, but with the collar around her neck inhibiting her magic, Aine wasn't sure what she could do to get rid of him. Maybe make a scene, the basement rooms weren't too bad and at least she wouldn't hear people going past her door all hours of the night.

It took a lot to ruffle the phoenix's feathers.

A guessing game. She raised her eyebrow, one of her hands going to play with the string of pearls around her neck absently. They had been a gift from one of her masters and something else she liked – living in the lap of luxury, having nice things, all of that bit. It was one of the only reasons Aine was able to tolerate this place, having such a nice room made the confinement tolerable. But only just. It was starting to chafe and she watched the dragon calmly as his eyes rested on her even while he paced. She didn't mind having someone watch her. Normally she'd start to preen a bit, show off, but she wasn't in the mood right at the moment. Still, she could appreciate being the center of someone's attention for once and didn't discourage his staring, a smirk appearing on her lips when he began his train of thought. He was so wrong it was funny, although her smirk faded for a moment when he guessed. Not because she particularly cared that he had gotten it right...well, all right, it was. The last few masters had only wanted to test her abilities, including the reincarnation part of her powers. And with how enthusiastic he sounded, it was almost manic and that never boded well in her experience.

As he continued to talk, about his chateau, he caught her attention with the mention of a hot spring. Aine hadn't been to one in quite a long time...years, she guessed, at least three decades or more. She loved them quite a bit, the heat perfect for her, and her eyebrow went up as he went on about how similar they were and how she was perfect. Well, of course she was, she thought matter-of-factly, the hand not occupied with her pearls going to her hip as she jutted it out a bit while he got himself comfortable on a footstool. Her other eyebrow raised when he told her to tell him about herself. That wasn't usual at all and she wasn't quite sure what to even say to that sort of conversation prompt. "My file is right there, so I'm sure it has everything you'd want to know," she remarked, gesturing to the folder of papers he had set down on her dresser while pacing feverishly about her room. Sighing a bit, the female shrugged, her modesty a bit false. "You guessed correctly, of course, I am a phoenix. And no, I am not going to tell anyone how old I am," Aine added, before he could ask. "Perhaps everyone here is boring and dull because this place is boring and dull, I'm about to scream just to see what happens and see if it gets livlier," she continued bluntly, watching him with a practiced eye. "I'm not nearly dull or nervous, and don't worry, I'm not 'hooked on sex' either," the phoenix added sarcastically. Certainly she enjoyed it, when she did it, but that was rare. "Althogh, I do like a good fire now and then, my previous masters didn't seem to be able to tolerate heat very well. How about you, do you prefer hot or cold?" she asked, flashing a smile. Her tone was partially challenging, even as she flirted with him a bit. Why? Because she could and it had been a long time since she'd gotten to talk to someone as handsome as he was.

Was she going to tell him about Herbert? Not a chance in hell.

RUNNINGout of time....

<<<<<<<<<<

>>>I know I've gotta findYOU....

<<<<<<<<<<<<

>>>>>>Wonder if you're evenTHERE....

( Where are you? Where are you! )

What was it that seemed so weird in the air as silence overtook the room? What would be this man's response to her acceptance? Obviously he was not giving her any reaction at the moment. She couldn't have been more curious at that moment. After all it was completely quiet and Catalina had no way of knowing what the man was to do next. It was moments like these she repulsed the most. She didn't know what was going on and again, that just frustrated her. Maybe it was the mew of the cat or the howl of a nearby slave that satisfied Catalina's thirst to know, for just seconds later the sound of movement reached her ears. With a slow nod of her head, the young girl responded to the man's nervous stuttering voice with a sign of agreement. She heard a accent in his voice, something that was foreign to her obviously, but faint. It was clearly not a solid accent and it wavered but it actually met her liking right away. Such a odd.. accent. She's never heard anything like it before. She began to wonder about the man, her mind drifting away into the clouds of her mind. It was very odd to her, to be in the presence of a man with such respect. He has already disproved a few of her theories about men. But maybe she hasn't experienced everything. Maybe it was wrong of her to judge all of mankind from just a few of her experiences. What brought her from her thoughts was the sounds of papers moving and shifting and Catalina jerked her head up. Her folder. Her eyes stared straight ahead, a worried look on her face. If he were to read her file now, he might rethink about purchasing her. She held her breath, afraid he might go into her history. She hated being pitied but worst of all she hated being reminded of it all. She hated being reminded of how she got to earth and how her life was for the first few months.. But then again none of that could be compared to the brutal battles she faced with her ex-master, not long ago. Such a memory could have Catalina to tears in just seconds.

It was to her surprisement that what she thought was happening was not. He was merely shuffling around, almost as if he was nervous. What a odd odd person. Cat bit the corner of her mouth with a sharp fang-like tooth as she listened in on the man's request. Following him, shouldn't be too hard, would it? Of course not. She's been through these halls before and with the kitty to assist her, well she couldn't have been better off. She could just remember the last time she past through those halls. She was nearly choked to death by her collar when her old master literally dragged her on the floor by her leash. Such a terrifying memory. Possibly this time she won't have so much to worry about. What was awfully weird though, was when the man cut himself off from a word and changed it to people. It was most likely just a mistake, after all mistakes are made like that all the time but maybe it wasn't a mistake. It was just something else she didn't need to worry about at the moment. As the man kindly asked his cat if she would guide dear Catalina, the girl was slowly slipping down the side of the bed, her knees just a bit weak from not moving a lot. The most she ever did in her room was try to walk tot he restroom to go to the restroom. Otherwise it was just sleep for her. She had a lot of thinking time in that room. Being blind she had no possibility to escape, so she was trapped in that isolated room for what she thought forever, until now. With the assuring meow from the lovely cat, and the soft fur brush against her legs to show her the way, Catalina made it to the door in no time. She did her best, trying not to step in the cat, as she held her arms out, almost like a zombie. A funny thought that seemed to cheer her up a bit. The man seemed to still be quite uncomfortable around the girl, leaving his cat to do the work, but maybe that's better. If Cat is going to take care of Pandora, she might as well get to know her.

The girl could be see slowly shuffling her feet, one of her arms out, her palm touching the wall, supporting her in case her legs decided to give out. Ever since her last time being the slave of a master, her knees have always been weak. She blames it on her last master. After all he nearly beat her to death before and after every session of passion. She never had a break, she never had a moment when she wasn't sore somewhere. The young girl sniffled and rubbed her eye with her free hand, rubbing away the exhaustion from it. Catalina yawned quietly as she past through the halls, not far behind the man, the cat slithering through her feet, it's fur tickling her skin and giving her goose bumps all over her legs, reaching up to her hips. Her bare feet padded snugly over the carpeted hall and her dress swayed back and forth, a little dirt spot here and there in the fabric. It was a worn out dress that looked as though it was ready to fall apart, and peel right off her body, but it has been intact since she first arrived on Earth and intact she believes it will stay. It's been her charm since she's arrived. It has never given her good luck, never bad. It was just something she could hold on to to keep her hopes up, even though it never truly did. They came to a stop where Catalina believed the front desk. She kept her head lowered, hoping not to get yelled at by any guard about being disrespectful to those more authoritative than her. She seemed stiff and blocked out when she was around the guards. She feared punishment and did whatever she always could to prevent her from being harmed in any way, verbal or physical. As Cat stared down to the ground, she could sense the male getting rather jumpy. He was giving off very anxious and irritated body language and she couldn't imagine what could have triggered that. Was it her? Did she do something wrong? Was he rethinking about taking her away from this place? It wasn't much longer before they were walking away from the manor. Catalina felt so great, but she must remember she is still a slave and she must act like one. Catalina softly smile as she gazed down, listening to how they are going to get to her master's home. Just the thought of going places made her feel so much more free than sitting in a room. It gave her so much relief. Such a long journey. It was very much worth it. It was the man's voice that made the girl uneasy though. Was she the only one excited about being away from that manor? The odd accent he once had was now gone and she felt a spur of disappointment. It was such a striking voice he had.

Catalina sighed as she listened to her master. He seemed to be deeply disturbed and she knew nothing good she could do to change it. She just nodded, her shoulders sagging and quietly mumbled, "Yes, master." He seemed to be in such a rush and the only thing she could do now was be silent. She didn't want to anger her master. That was the very last thing she wanted to do. Catalina quickly followed behind her master, Pandora thankfully assisting her. If it wasn't for the cat she might have already lost her master and such a punishment she would get from it. Or was he not the kind for punishment? Cat didn't want to find out but what she did want to know was her masters name. It was a bad time to ask so she put it off. Besides she wouldn't be calling him by his first name anyways. That's disrespectful and she learned that from a swinging whip, when she first became a slave.

Kazuo held in a sigh. He saw this coming the moment he stepped foot onto the property. There were of course some slaves who had nothing to go back to, innocent ones, like Aileen, solemn because they could not go back to what they had. The weretiger may try to be a nice person, but he was still a businessman. It would defeat the purpose completely to buy her simply to let her run free. In any case, if he let her run off, chances were she would not make it back home, with no funds, and not having a clue where she was at. Kazuo was grateful for Sarah's distraction, whether she did it on purpose or not, as he could already smell the salt from fresh oncoming tears.

The male turned his attention back to the sketchpad Aileen had left in his hand, skimming through other pages to she if she had drawn anything else. Finding nothing, he returned to the sketch of Sarah, admiring her handiwork. Drawing his attention back to the two on the floor at Aileen's question, he smiled softly and replied,
"I believe she does. I suppose that means Alex would like you, as well." He considered it. He supposed he would give her options, phrasing it to both of their benefits. Surely she did not want to stay here, where someone else would come along; probably someone less reasonable, less friendly, who wouldn't give her an option. He would do his best to make her feel as comfortable as possible, supplying her with more than the basic necessities, beautiful surroundings, interaction with the other creatures, freedom to an utmost extent.

If even then, she wanted to leave, he would let her try. If she wanted to come back, he would let her. But she did not seem the type to be that rebellious. She looked perfectly intelligent. Kazuo watched Sarah's tail sweep across the floor before turning his gaze to Aileen's face. Having weighed his options, Kazuo spoke again.
"Would you rather stay here, and wait for someone else to come retrieve you?" He asked her gently, not meaning to let the words flow crossly; and they didn't. "If say someone from your old life were to find you, by all means, I would let you return to them. In the mean time I could provide a more friendly environment, with as much freedom as you need to feel comfortable," he reasoned, to her and himself, ears flicking up and down occasionally.

"Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt..."

Aileen wouldn't know how to run away if it came up and bit her in the a**. It was rather awkward to have such a conversation with a tiger laying on her, unable to properly speak to him, but she was doing her best. The tears receded, for the time being at least, and she let out a soft sigh as she wondered who Alex was. Another cat, she was sure, and wondered if he was another white tiger or something else altogether. Her fingers were buried in Sarah's thick fur, taking comfort from it, and she saw him flipping through her sketchbook. There wasn't anything else in that one, it was one she'd gotten when she was brought here and she hadn't had the urge or desire to draw until she'd seen the beautiful cat just sitting there. It had almost been something like a relief, to draw and get her emotions out, even if she wasn't exactly channeling them like some artists did. Drawing was still cathartic to her, at least.

All-in-all, she rather hoped that the tiger liked her. Otherwise Aileen wasn't sure why she'd be laying on her and really didn't want to find out she was just a snack or something. Listening to his reasoning, she bit her lip when he asked if she'd rather stay here and see who else would come buy her. The girl didn't know the first thing about her odds here, or about what might happen, or even who else bought slaves. But she had a feeling that Kazuo was a bit of an oddity, maybe, in being kind. And even she wasn't stupid enough to think that everyone who came here looking for a slave would be nice. While she didn't want to go...she didn't want to stay here, either. Biting her lip as she ran her hands through the tiger's fur, Aileen tried to think of what to say. This was all so foreign to her and deep down, she was a bit scared. But her heart leapt when he said that if she was found by her family, he would let her go home.

So...it was more likely to be found if she was out of this place. And it could be more of a...a vacation, or something, maybe she could tell herself to think of it like that. It would be so easy to just call up her house and talk to someone...would he let her do that? Maybe? She thought about telling him that her parents would be able to pay him back, whatever he spent on her, but wasn't sure if he would believe her or not. "That's more than I expected to hear from anyone in this place," Aileen admitted quietly. She scooted out a bit from the tiger so she could sit up, hugging the great head that was against her chest and shoulder. "I think...I'd like to go with you, if you want me to," the young woman told him, giving him a smile that was a bit hopeful.
