She might blame her wings.
She might blame the water.

Kettil called it sweet, sweet karma.

As her hubris got the better of her that was when Kettil swooped in and moved to gather her up in his arms and hug her to him, "Got ya! Mine. Mine. Mine." As he said this he kissed each little part of available skin on the shoulders and side of her neck.

Clearly Kettil a weird idea of punishment.

She was angry. SO ANGRY. She slapped the water just once, to vent her frustrations on it with force, when a pair of arms wrapped around her. It was inevitable, of course. She knew the moment she fell into the water that she was going to get caught, but she had no idea just how much she was going to like it. All of her anger fizzled like a dying flame in the wake of Kettil's possessive and affectionate barrage. She melted in his arms, letting out little keening noises of bliss, and her arms flailed out, as if to abandon herself to his whims.

"Yeh gots me, yeh wins, I gives up forever!" If this was Kettil's idea of winning, she wanted to lose every single game they ever played for the rest of her life.

"..Oh! I like winning forever," he said happily against her ear. "What's my prize? Is it you?"

It seems as if a Kettil around Freya only has one mode: Overly Affectionate.

He nuzzled at the side of her neck and grinned at his victory. It was always nice to win even if it was a playful little bout between him and Freya. Sometimes it was harder to get that victory but sometimes? It was just this easy. He spun about with her once just for fun.

It was difficult to answer Kettil when he was being so affectionate, because the only sounds that managed to come out of her were helpless little mewls, whimpers of pleasure that snuck past her lips. He really knew how to cheat at the game, but she'd already given in, and couldn't think straight anymore; so her ability to hold a grudge was impaired. Instead, she screeched and clung to him as the world swirled around them, flipping over to face him once everything stopped spinning and clinging to his shoulders affectionately.

"Ja, Hooter," She giggled out breathlessly. "I am yehr prize. And no trade ins. I'm all yehr ever goings teh gets."

The noises she made were rather distracting but he worked his hardest to not pay them much mind if any at all. He had stilled long enough to receive her answer. Kettil laughed softly as he gently moved her about to face him, "Why would I ever trade you in?" He poked her on the noise as if to make a point.

"I'd rather have the original and not some pale imitation," he said affectionately.

Kettil leaned and kissed her nose, "You say such silly things."

The original. Freya thought about that for a moment, and her face soured. "But I am not the original." She pointed out. "My eldest sister, she would be. Are yeh sayings yehr goings teh-"

And then she stopped, because the pang of pain in her heart killed any chance of her finishing the teasing joke she was going to make. No, she couldn't joke with Kettil about taking Sif over her. That hit too close to home. Far too close. So instead, she stuck her tongue out, and slunk down into the water, until her bottom hit the floor again. "I do says silly things." She admitted sourly. "I can't helps myself."

Then the mood went south. He watched as she slid out of his arms and onto the floor and he knelt down with her and shook his head, "You could have a billion sisters but there is only one Freya and that is you."

Kettil wasn't going to just let her think that he was ever going to trade her for any of her sisters, ever.

"You are the one that I want for all time." He leaned and kissed the bridge of her nose.

It was such a simple thing to say, and so expected. Despite that, just hearing those words made Freya fill with a warmth that dug straight into her core. She wanted to be the only one Kettil loved. Oh, how she wanted to be the only one he ever looked at like that. The only one he ever kissed, or touched, or held. It was almost hypocritical, for how affectionate she was - and she couldn't help herself. She wanted it so badly it made her skin itch. She pulled him closer, her body claiming him possessively within her embrace.

"'jika." Freya's whisper was shaky, trembling with the sheer amount of love that her heart felt like it would burst with. She didn't know how to live this way. She was sure she would die from heart failure if it kept beating this hard, this fiercely.

She'd promised herself she would never believe in forever again.

She'd broken so many other promises already. This was no different.

"Yeh has me." She whispered up at him. "For all times."

It was so easy to move closer to her, perhaps a bit too easy. Each time she moved to pull him closer he simply went to her as if her magnetic pull was far too much for him to resist. His arms draped about her as he held her once more. Her tone caught his attention as she spoke. Was she cold? Perhaps they should get out of the water.

Before he could suggest such a move he froze at the force of her words - even though they had been whispered. Those words seemed to have a very big impact upon him.

Kettil tilted his head and leaned down to kiss her on the lips as if to seal that promise forever more or perhaps to capture it before it flew away. "Then I am never letting you go," he said softly against her lips after the kiss was had between them.

She believed him. Despite all of the reasons deeply embedded in her that gave her every right not to believe those few words, she truly did. Kettil had his arms around her, and his heart buried deep within hers, and she couldn't bring herself to find a single ounce of doubt. In his kiss, she felt the completion of their love, culminated through a friendship so deep it transcended words. There was nothing she could do but believe him, anymore. It wasn't a matter of taking the risk, or feeling that it was worth the chance of getting hurt again.

This was simply where she had to be.

"Yes." It wasn't a word she said very well, normally - her accent usually morphed it, and changed it into something else. But now, she said it formally, with the conviction of someone who was answering a question that wasn't being asked. At least, not at the moment.

She didn't explain. It was better left unsaid.

It was almost surprising that she didn't giggle at him or shoot him down now. He had almost come to expect opposition from her when it came to matters of the heart and more. It made him appreciate this small victory that much more when she simply said 'yes' and with so much conviction that he almost felt as if his heart was full to bursting now.

When he smiled at her it was almost brilliant now.

One battle down just untold number more to go.

He lightly pressed his forehead against hers and held her for a moment or two until a breeze brushed over him and reminded him that they weren't anywhere near to being someplace warm. "C'mon let's go get somewhere dry."

Unlike Kettil, Freya was actually very warm, in the water. His body pressed against hers, and she felt a content unlike anything she'd ever felt before. She didn't really want the moment, or the magic this place held, to end. So instead of agreeing with him, she let go and let him move, just enough to snake away like an escaping fish and slide back deeper into the water. She didn't go far - she couldn't, really. She just went far enough to keep her neck deep in the water. Her expression was playful and mischievous.

"Don't wants teh." She informed him. "I likes it here, where it's wet."

Something slapped him in the face - soaked cloth, it seemed like. When he looked again, she was gone, disappeared under the water. Waiting like a shark. A topless shark.

Kettil grasped at air as she escaped him his expression almost bewildered for a moment or two ... until something hit him in the face. Something in shape of a bra. He took it off his face and stared at it just long enough to raise an eyebrow. It wouldn't be his fault that she would be lacking underwear after this trip was done, that's for sure.

Still. Like a good boilfriend he made a certain effort to fling the bra toward the land and then went swimming after Freya for a merry game of chase.

A game he intended to win for a fabulous prize.

Aka: nothing to see here folks, come back later.

It's later.

"Are yeh sure we're not goings teh gets in trouble? It's so late.." She couldn't tell for sure what time it was, but the sky was too light, warning the signs of an oncoming dawn. For all she knew, the sun was about to break right before them, as they walked, hand in hand and barefoot, back to Kettil's home. Freya's wings dripped long trails of water, not even close to being dry. She fluttered them every so often, but all it did was send showers of water flying, just to settle back into the thick folds of her feathers.

The world was so quiet, so peaceful, so very much theirs at that moment. The only thing that interrupted the peace was her voice, and the sounds of birds chirping to signal the impending dawn.

"Yep. I mean it isn't like anyone can yell at us. We told them we would be back," Kettil said, his tone was at ease not concerned for the consequences at hand. What were they going to do? Forbid him from playing with Freya again while she's here? Rude and unlikely.

Kettil's eyes flicked back toward Freya's wings and he made a sympathetic face, "Would a blowdryer help that out a bit?"

He wasn't sure how or when time passed them by, but it always happened this way. They stayed up until the wee hours and simply enjoyed each other's company. Kettil squeezed Freya's hand a little, there was a small warm smile on his face.
