Lan wasn't quite sure what had prompted her to come forward to try her hand at it. Maybe it was the fact that she wanted to have gifts to give that didn't cost her money. Maybe she wanted her gifts to have meaning. Perhaps she wanted to see if should could actually bake. Or maybe, just maybe, she was a little joy infected again.
As bells in her hair gave a small jingle jingle, it was a bit easy to tell that yes, she was. Because candy cane ribbons? She'd not be caught dead in such things otherwise. Bells were cute though. Still, washing her hands... She'd mixed powders for fireworks once. How hard could cooking cookies be?
Answer: Hard.

As she rolled out the... mixture... Lan frowned at the human shape. Didn't they have anything better? Horse? Flower? Circle? Heck, even a skull? Sighing she tried. Maybe it was because she slammed the cut outs down so hard that they came out rather well.

Cooking them... she kind of wanted them to be set on fire, if just because human shape. Let the humans burn.

Okay no, cookies. Cookies burning would be terrible. And gross. And would kill the whole point of being there. Gnomes helped make that worse with a dance off.
If anything, she totally kicked their butts.
Sighing at her cookie, Lan pouted. She'd blame the gnomes this round.

DARE SHE GIFT IT?
Yes. Because she knew enough terrible horsemen to torment. Like Shik. Maybe she'd poison the cookies. Wrap them pretty then kill him with terrible cookies.
It would be a sweet vengeance.
Actually no she'd prefer to stab his eyes out with her arrows it would be more fulfilling. Nice and slow. Digging their way into his skull.
Thoughts of skewered chicken distracted her and in the end- her gift looked like it had been hit by a carriage.

Okay. The first one was terrible, but the second time around... she'd do better right? Right. Washing her hands again, Lan looked at the ingredients. Surely, it was not so hard or complex right? She'd get it.
Lumpy, it was certainly better than the first time she'd done it. But now her hands were all sticky.
While no one was looking she might have tried the dough.
It was pretty tasty.
But not very lady like.
Still tasty.

The rolling pin in hand, she followed the example of others, dusting the sheet with flour first. It helped with the sticky factor and kept the dough from sticky to the pin as she got it ready to cut them out. More hard cutter slamming she wished that making humans that would be under her power were this easy.

The oven's heat hit her face and she smirked. Fingers warmed for a second, she set the pan into the oven, timer set.
Nothing happened.
Except perfection.
Smiling at her creations, Lan actually felt a bit good about them this time. maybe she'd give these cookies to someone she actually liked.

Now to wrap. She wanted to try at least. And try she did. To the point where there might have been way too many ribbons.
Then again, Lan didn't think that there was nothing wrong with ribbons. NOTHING AT ALL.

Washing her hands again, Lan was feeling empowered with her last victory. She would mix even better dough on this time around. Pride before the fall?
She fell.
Just like the lumpy mix she'd managed to make.

Cooking cutter slamming down, the dough kept breaking apart. So close... she did like how the limbs kept break off. It was bringing back just a lovely set of ideas she'd had once for a particular virus.

Fail dough, fail cut outs, she could try not to ******** up the baking.
A few minutes after the bell rang, Lan remembered that she had more bells than the ones in her hair that made noise.
