Arriving for the second time that night, Kiah entered the room with Kyle trailing behind her. Partway through the party, she had noticed the absence of the sandy haired idiot and had decided to investigate. She'd found it strange that he wasn't there bragging about the beautiful dress he'd picked out, and wondered if he'd been held up somewhere. To her surprise, and immediate displeasure, she'd found him napping in the Common Room. It had taken nearly a half hour to get the young man up and moving, but once he was dressed and ready to go Kiah had wished she'd just left him there.
"We're not too late for the party, right? Nobody ate all the cake? If you're in a dress, that must mean all the girls are~. Did you see Liv's dress yet? Wow, this place really looks fancy...," Kyle crossed his arms and examined the room, now understanding his need for dressy cloths. Kiah, seeing the distraction, quickly slipped between the crowd of dancers and away from the annoyance before he could notice she was gone. "So where's Liv...? ....Kiah? ...How does she do that?" he questioned, shaking his head in exasperation while looking around.

Kanda finally managed to make it to the party, despite his reluctance to attend in the first place. He had to admit that Liv had always taken care of everyone well, and couldn't bring himself to avoid a party dedicated to her. By the time he was dressed up smart, he realized he had forgotten how nice it felt to wear such fancy attire. It had been a while since he had attended anything that required something other than his Exorcist uniform, so it was a welcome change. Folding his hands behind his back, he stepped into the ballroom and took in the decorations and people.

After navigating through the dancers and sneaking over to the refreshment table to pour herself a glass of spiked punch, Kiah had simply been content to find a place to sit until the dance floor grew less crowded. She'd glanced around the room for a table and nearly passed by Kanda before she realized it. She blinked at him for a short time, a blush rising to her cheeks at his fancy outfit; she was quick to blame it on her already consumed glass of punch. "Hey K-Kanda! Wow... I've never seen you in a suit before...," she took a small sip to hide her embarrassment before going on, "It's been awhile since I've seen you, though! How have you been?"

Kanda nearly missed Kiah too, as she almost passed him rather quickly. He was caught off-guard when she greeted him, and cleared his throat.
"Hello, Kiah. The suit..well, I was told the party was going to be upscale," he glanced at her dress, lingering at her face for a few seconds, "You look pretty. The mission I was on took far longer than I thought it would, but I've been fine...How have you been? You got your hair back."

"That's true... I had to tear up my closet just to find something... but it looks really good on you." The blush on her face darkened considerably, though she continued to brush it off as nothing. "Thank you..."
"Oh? Everything went smoothly on your mission, then?" she gave him a quick once over to see if there were any injuries present, though she knew they'd probably be gone at this point. "I've been doing alright. Keeping myself busy, as always. And yes... Reever made me something to grow it out again." She smiled a bit nervously, remembering that he'd liked it better when it was short.

As she and Lavi were nudged Sil resisted tersely, laughing a little nervously. Of course she wantedto dance with Lavi, as it was one of her most passionately adored pastimes and she loved sharing that activity with him of all people, but she knew that they were meant to be mostly avoiding one another in public. With the number of people who knew what their relationship had become slowly growing, the more nervous Sil became that she would mess up again and make people suspicious. "We can't Liv--" she had started to say before the young woman hurried off and left them to their own devices.
As if right out of her nightmares, Kyle entered the ballroom with Kiah and Sil noticeably frowned. "Think of the devil and he shall come," she muttered, her gaze following him, wondering if they could evade him for the whole evening. He disappeared in the crowd, however, and she quickly lost track of him. "We better split up. God forbid he catch us together and make use of his leverage..." She frowned deeper, feeling a harrowing sadness as she stepped back, heels clicking in hesitant steps. "I'll see you later, I guess..." The disappointment in her voice was far from lost, her dark eyes meeting the light of his one last time before she turned to head towards the refreshments again. As she walked, Sil had to remind herself it was for Lavi's good even if it felt terrible.

(( Yeah, me too :c No matter how many times you go, the first day of a new year is always nerve-racking. ))
His own cheeks tinged pink at her compliment and he glanced away for a second, "Thank you." He nodded and shifted a little, moving out of the doorway as he continued to talk to her.
"No serious problems, no. I'm glad you were able to get a remedy. I know that you like it better long...though I think it looks nice regardless." He started to walk slowly, meaning to circle the room with her as they continued with the conversation. He kept his hands folded behind his back, fidgeting with them a little.
