"Hmm..." Illo was silent for a moment. So many factors to consider. Of course, the factors present to him were either dictated or their methods of solution were defined by the scope of his training; and by the titles granted to him as demon slayer was a simple "yes or no" way of discernment: was the demon causing trouble at the moment? Yes = kill, no = let live. But Adrian needed more than that. He needed actual guidance, and Shinigami himself be damned if Illo would let this mental exercise conquer him.
"There are many things to consider, and I can't fully disagree with Lilith when she implies that Death isn't doing his job. In two years of service at the school I've only seen him once, and that meeting was curt." He chuckled slightly and looked up from the fire. "See, where I come from a master dedicates all his time to his pupils, no matter what, for he realizes that they will become his arms and legs... Why should a man keep fighting?" He took a moment then to pour some of the piping hot water over some tea he'd produced from his cloak. It was of the oolong variety.
"You will find your way, of that much I can assure you, but first you should find which way the people around are taking." He hadn't thought of how to introduce meditation before--like you need a way to introduce it, pansy generation! Why, in my day... But this situation seemed like it needed a touch of introspection. "I suggest you meditate on the matter." Then he sat legs folded over one another comfortably, advising Adrian to do the same. When Adrian was fixed the way he would be most comfortable spending some time, Illo would place a warm cup of tea in his palm.
"You have many things to consider: therefor your cup is full of what you do not want; but the truth is large, and will fill your cup on its own; empty your cup of these things so you may have what you want." Then he retreated behind a tree to muse on the matter himself and collect more greens, perhaps a stick with which to spear trout in a stream.

Adrian had only heard good things about Death so he was surprised when he said he agreed with Lily, even a little. He nodded, happy to know more about Illo and the things he's been through but he wished it was under more pleasant circumstances."It sounds like you have been through a lot to become so strong Illo."Adrian sighed internally when Illo said he would find his own way, if only there was a tour guide for destiny."Meditate? I have never tried but I guess now is a good time."He did as Illo told him and tried to relax. Adrian watched as Illo put a cup in his hand and explained his metaphor. He nodded and watched Illo walk away. He took a sip before setting the cup off to the side. Adrian sighed and looked to the sky, wondering what would happen to him. He took out his ponytail and did his best to relax until Illo got back.
If I challenge him head on, I might be able to overpower him. But that leaves Adrian unaccounted for. How strong can I make him in three days? If only he could go to Bardo with me. Three days in Bardo will have him unstoppable... That won't work. He has to be strong enough to hold his own against Han's traps for... Three minutes. Three minutes is all I'll need to pulverize that Kishin! If only I had more control... Over--YES. That's it! I'll go into Bardo. Three days in Bardo and I'll be the unstoppable one... But then that'll leave Adrian vulnerable again.
This is pointless. I have to find a way around this. Hmm... I said three days. If I spend two days training him and let him rest on the third before we face him. Then I could go into Bardo. Yes... That'll have to work.
Illo
A couple hours would pass before Illo finally came back, giving Adrian enough time get as far as he would with his meditation, as Illo with his thoughts. And while that might have been no where for at least one of them, it was better, paradoxically, than not having any time at all to reflect on the situation at hand.
"How was it? Did you have a good first meditation?" Said Illo coming into sight with an armfull of twigs and moss.

Adrian looked up at Illo."It was okay, it just felt like there is a battle going on in my head though. But I think I am going to stay with Lily."He'd decided that the best move would be to try to keep an eye on Lily and if anything came up he'd tell Illo as soon as he could."Illo, what's the best way to contact you when we are not face to face?"Adrian had never seen Illo pull out a phone or anything like that but he needed to know the best way to get to him if he was going to go forth with his plan.

Don't you love it when your new character doesn't get approved QQ
The first meditation is supposed to be more peaceful than that...
Illo
"A good choice. As soon as you find out more you can make a more definite decision... Contact me?" Illo hadn't thought of it. The only way people ever contacted him was through telepathy. Either that or he sensed their energy and simply showed up where they were, which didn't really count.
"Well, I do have telepathic abilities... Perhaps you could think to me if you need me. But my telepathy can only be accessed in this state." Illo then powered up again. It had been just enough time since his last usage. For some reason or another, it was easier... Too much so in fact. It was as if even since the incident at Lucrum Labs a power was sawing away at his conscious restraints.
"Can you hear me now?" A voice could be heard in Adrian's head, if he was receptive, and all he would have to do was think back to speak with Illo, who's lips never moved.

Adrian knew there had to be a way to contact him, he just didn't expect this. He watched Illo power up and nearly jumped when he heard someone else's voice in his head.'O-oh, wow, uhh, hello Illo, umm, you cannot read my mind or anything, can you?'Adrian looked very nervous and wasn't sure if he should start thinking of random things or if something embarrassing would come up if he tried too hard to think of other things.
"Haha, my boy how do you think telepathy works? we are reading each other's minds to speak without words. You can read my mind as well, you know." In Illo's mind were the clinging anger, a little anxiety over the training, some thoughts of Melanie. If Adrian concentrated he could hear them all.

Adrian nodded'R-right, umm, okay. Well I am glad we have a way of contact.'Adrian really hoped Illo would leave his mind soon, otherwise he'd learn some pretty embarrassing thoughts he'd been thinking and some slight doubt in himself about all this training."Maybe we should get some rest?"He thought about faking a yawn but a real one happened to come out.
((OOC: I yawned just thinking of the word "yawn"))
"But of course," said Illo turning off his third eye like a miners helmet light. "tomorrow we'll train in earnest. I'll leave the fire on." Nights got cold in the Rockies. It wouldn't do to have either of them shiver away all their energy before the training even started.

Adrian sighed in relief and nodded."Right, okay."He wondered if leaving the fire would be okay, he didn't want to start a forest fire but it seemed fine. Adrian got comfortable and was silent for a second before quietly saying "Nos da."which meant goodnight in welsh. He realized he hadn't spoken in his foreign language in a while and wondered if he should to that more often.
The monk nodded and said goodnight himself before retreating to the West side of camp. There were rocks on which he could practice. He knew he should rest too, but there were some nights when a good workout was required for any sleeping to get done. The "huh"s and "ha"s became a sort of lullaby for him as the bloody moon kept its satirist eye on the monk, and, though it watched him with precision, it was only a testament to that precise scrutiny by which the entire world could be blotted out to focus on the trifles of one man weighing themselves against the responsibilities of an entire nation or world; and within the monk's mind was a similar pulling back to realize the scope of the situation. Suppose anything is possible with the power of endorphins.
The next morning a few branches were laid out to form a circle around the rocks Illo'd been training on. The smell of trout smoking on the fire would curl its way to Adrian's nose. Hopefully he likes fish. Meanwhile Illo would be waiting at the training site.

Adrian awoke to the smell of cooked food. He sat up and rubbed his eyes. Adrian looked around, having to follow his nose to locate Illo. "Good morning."Adrain managed to mumble before trying to run a hand through his hair."Nnh, we did not pack a brush did we?"He walked over to Illo, still rubbing the sleep out of his eyes."What are we going to be doing today? More hiking right?" 'Maybe I should try to find an animal to ride today.'

Illo
"Good morning, Adrian. I turst you managed to sleep a little?" Illo was practicing a couple moves in White Crane at the moment. Adrian found him. "No-not today, anyway. I think it's time to skip to the top. Then we can train." The idea was to get acclimated enough so as not to die instantly upon arrival of the summit, but also to maximize training time and intensity. Suddenly Illo noticed the rustling of twigs in the brush nearby.
"It seems we have a guest this morning..." He couldn't sense their souls, but he felt confident there wasn't another bear near, and even if there was, Adrian could handle it. "Adrian, would you be so kind as to greet our guest?"
Adrian nodded, glad he got some sleep. He looked at the top of the summit."Skip to the top?"Adrian was wondering to himself if they'd be teleporting again but Adrian looked over to the direction Illo was pointing out. He smiled, glad he could soon make another animal companion."Of course Illo."Adrian calmed his breathing and had his palms open as he walked toward the assumed animal. His hands began glowing with the soft light he'd used before to calm the hungry bear.
