Akumi nudged Twila slightly in the air, using a small touch of aerokinetic energy as he spoke. "Yellow pulsing glow on the rooftop," he said simply. As he spoke, the tracer burst pulsed more rapidly, a warning that whatever was happening inside was increasing in energy output. His eyes narrowed, hovering forward several feet. Jean... get out of there.... NOW!! he thought. He saw Jean, who had been feet from the doorstep of the building, freeze and leap away, taking off into the air before landing on a building across the street. Akumi blinked, having noticed a subtly rippling aura of bright reddish orange energy swirling around the redheaded telepath when she'd taken off. He took a deep breath, half closing his eyes as he concentrated, blocking everything else out before he vanished in a burst of prismatic energy, streaking downward towards the apartment building so rapidly time itself seemed to move like gelatin in a frozen jar. His hand flashed out, grabbing the crimson gemstone from the girl in the scorched gray and white tee shirt, her jaw set as if fighting back a scream of pain as her short blue hair wavered around her shoulders. The black jeans and sneakers she wore looked to be smoking slightly from the sharp increase in power. The blue arcs of lightning that streaked over her skin and gloves increased in speed sharply as he pushed off, landing back near the window as the glow and energy output ceased. The girl fell to the floor, the tinkling of glass from the shattered window Akumi had flown through seeming loud in the silence.

"Oh..." Twila said seeing the light. "Th..." she noticed he was gone. "...spooky..." She looked at the building seeing glass shatter and Akumi. 'how did he get there so quickly?'((Fist thought after reading..... Matrix. XD))

Akumi took a deep breath, flicking the crimson gemstone without thinking so it flipped in the air before he caught it. Jean blinked, having seen a slight ripple in the air before the window imploded inward as if something had gone through it before she spotted Akumi standing there. "Twila... how did he do that?" she thought, reaching out to the winged girl without really thinking about it; she had never seen anything move that fast, if it had been speed Akumi had employed.OOC - Though Akumi doesn't realize it, he used Chaos Control to accelerate to inhuman speed levels and moved so rapidly it seemed to him that time slowed to a crawl while to everyone and everything around him he simply seemed to vanish.

Twila jumped hearing a voice in her head and flew over to Jean "I don't know..." she replyed landing on the roof. "Magic? Your guess is as good as mine..." (( Like in sonic? Haven't played sonic but I think that's what the chaos control and gems are from right?)) sweatdrop

Akumi shifted his weight, cocking his head as the blue haired girl groaned. "Oh.... damn.... I feel like Juggernaut was tapdancing on my head," she said with a Japanese accent. He rolled his eyes. "If that happened, I kinda think your head would be much flatter and less pleasant to look at," he said dryly. The girl blinked as she pushed herself to her hands and knees weakly, though Akumi didn't know why she blushed all of a sudden.
He glanced out of the window to see Jean and Twila. She seems sore as heck, but she seems okay, he thought. Jean exhaled, shrugging. "It wouldn't surprise me... though what those flashes of red light were bothers me," she said to Twila. She blinked as she noticed the crimson gemstone in Akumi's hand before it glowed and faded from sight. Akumi blinked, glancing down at his palm to see another tiny starburst marking, this one crimson, next to the golden starburst. They were no larger than the head of a pushpin in diameter.OOC - Exactly. He has no idea, but his tale and past are actually far more complicated than say... Wolverine's. He doesn't know that he was actually born in a parallel timeline to the one he's currently in where aliens caused a planetwide shift in genetics in which the survivors all gained humanoid animal forms (hence his 'furry `Kitty` form'... I find the nickname kinda amusing, by the way)

Twila frowned abit. "Do you think the magic gem thing caused the red light? The gold one eairlyer did the same thing but diffrent color." (( The cat from outer space. O.O. It was actually a pretty good movie on a random note... parallel time line and diffrent planet... defenatly beats wolverines past. XD))

Jean shifted her weight. "It's possible, though I don't know if the gemstones have any power of their own," she admitted. Akumi shifted his weight slightly, half turning towards the window as he inhaled sharply, seeing a faint reddish orange glow increasing on the wall of windows behind the two girls. He took a deep breath, the prismatic aura flaring around him as he shifted to his feline form and pushed off, blurring out of sight in flickers. To the untrained eye, it seemed as if not one, but no less than a half dozen furry humanoid forms had blurred across the street. He materialized with a short burst of dust between the now distinctly glowing wall of windows and Jean and Twila, making the redheaded telepath jerk in surprise as his hand snapped up, the twin 'starburst' markings on his palm glowing brightly. The words were ones that leaped from his mouth as the thick glass melted, a jet of flames leaping out at them. "Chaos Shield," he barked as a spiraling red and gold aura formed into a hemisphere of light with a bright orange core as the flames slammed into it. A cocky laugh followed from the young man with the wrist mounted flamethrowers atop his forearms.OOC -

Twila looked at Akumi, starting to get use to him appearing randomly. Though the flames and creepy laugh made her nervous. "Pyromanics?"

Jean sighed, taking a half step to the side. "Pyro... he's a pyrokinetic, allowing him to manipulate fire though he can't create it on his own, hence the flamethrowers," she clarified. Her eyes widened as the flames unnaturally arced around the odd barrier Akumi had somehow summoned and came back at them from behind. A blue flare of light detonated as Noriko cleared the ladder onto the rooftop as an accented Austrailian voice cursed, the flames vanishing in wisps of smoke as the pyrokinetic's concentration was broken. The gloves Noriko wore were sparking intermittently and apparently weren't much use for anything short of looks at the moment. "You aren't hurting them or anyone else, John... Raikurai," she said with a slight Japanese accent as a ball of lightning fired like a bullet towards the red and yellow suited pyrokinetic before expanding a few feet from him. The impact shoved him backwards before he fell off the roof, a clanging thud giving away he'd landed on a Dumpster below. Noriko panted, the arm she'd released the lightning ball with raised and trembling before she let it drop. "I don't know what that gemstone was... but it seriously screwed with my powers," she said to Jean, who blinked. "Friends of yours?" she said thoughtfully and tiredly as she looked at Akumi and Twila as the shield dissipated into nothingness.OOC -

Twila walked over to the edge of the building and looked over. "You think hes alright..." she mumbled. She wondered if those flame throwers might set him on fire.

Noriko snorted, unconcerned. "They most likely went out when he was knocked out," she said dryly, forcing back a laugh when she saw Pyro lying in the dumpster with one of the plastic lids collapsed beneath him and old, slimy Chinese food all over him.OOC -

Noriko saw the furry kid abruptly grin as he pulled something she thought initially was a dark green shooter marble out of his pocket. She paled slightly, recognizing that grin all too well. Jean glanced at Akumi and lightly tugged at Twila's shoulder as he flicked the 'marble' over the edge and straight onto Pyro. In a matter of seconds there was an odd crackling thump an instant before a stench that would have made a herd of wolves flee wafted up. She saw the furry kid stagger back, coughing and hacking. "That'll teach you to play with toys that aren't yours," she chided with a slightly teasing note in her voice. She held her breath deliberately so the stench didn't hit her quite as hard. "Ah.... damn.... didn't even know what that was... but holy hell.... feels like someone hit me in the face with a pair of Fred Dukes' month old underwear," he said, referring to the extremely obese mutant known as the Blob.OOC -
