Shiro rolled her shoulders back again and felt the ropes move, her hands slipped forward and she could feel the rope slip back off of her shoulders, that was it, the key movement she was looking for. She closed her hands together and pulled rotating her shoulders in and up followed by a motion of stretching the ropes loosened as she breathed out and then in one fluid movement she released her hands from each other and took hold of the key points on the knot that was around her, and gave a light tug. The rope unfurled as if by magic and fell to the floor all about her. She smiled happily at her success, the lingering shadow of that nightmare wasn't enough to dampen her jubilance over this brilliant success. Perhaps she didn't like Yoshinaga, but she had been doing so poorly before with other classes, but somehow she did such a good job here with him, and it wasn't as if he was helping, or taking it easy on her or something. So maybe, even if he was a little odd, perhaps perverted, and quite grumpy he was a good sensei for the most part. She smiled and stood from her desk and knelt to pick up the rope. She couldn't have felt more proud of herself than she did right now, or at least that was how she currently felt. Shiro gathered the rope and was going to head to the sensei's desk when she noticed that he was... well busy with another student, she didn't know what was going on there as she was far too focused on the task at hand or releasing herself from the rope. So she decided she would just put the rope beside the desk and returned to her desk to gather up Bou and her bag. She put the sleepy little dog in her bag and then looked to Yoshinaga, she wanted to know what was going on, but it was none of her business ultimately. "Thank you Yoshinaga-sensei." she states with as formal a tone as the little fox girl could muster. After which she proceeded to the door to leave the class. As she reached out to touch the door a cold shiver raced her spine. For a moment she saw an image of THAT hallway echoed through the front of her mind. In her nightmares, every time she left the class, the hall was there again. She closed her eyes and muttered something quietly to Bou "not this time..." she states quietly before pulling the door open and stepping out into the hallway.

Hizen was running towards the academy, a piece of toast in his mouth, and only one arm in the sleeve of his shirt as he left his house. ”Crap crap crap! LATE AGAIN!!! You have got to be kidding me. Yoshi-sensei is going to be livid. Today’s the day we’re being tested on rope escapes. I’ve got to hurry to get to class or Yoshi –sensei will use some weird, super hard to escape rope technique on me.” Setting thoughts to actions, Hizen ran faster, trying to not miss the test and automatically fail. Arriving at the Academy, Hizen sped through the hallways towards the classroom.

”Excuse me! Pardon me! Coming through! GET OUT OF MY WAY! SORRY PRINCIPAL-SAMA!” Rudely bumping into people and yelling at the other students to clear the way, Hizen quickly made his way to the classroom. Seeing how the test had already started, Hizen quickly entered and waited to be tied to h is chair for the exam.

Sanyo was ready to be tied up today, she’d been paying attention in class, taking all the notes she could and reading whatever material was available to her. Now the moment of truth arrived as she sat and waited simply staring at the fresh rope wrapping her snuggly to the chair. She sat focusing on the knot for a while her focus unwavering as she mentally drowned out the happening abouts of the room. She had to figure out what exactly this knot was from the book; it was a bit difficult not being able to see it. Her fingers touched at it as best as they could reach trying to get a feeling of the form that would give her an idea as to what kind of knot it was. She didn’t want to wiggle about to much since she was sure it would be something that would cinch down during struggle so at least it narrowed it down by a few possibilities. “hrm… this is tough to figure out…” she commented aloud sticking her tongue through her teeth to emphasize the effort she was putting forth in this endeavor. Even though she might be able to figure it out it was certainly another matter to untie it like this... She still couldn't quite get a grasp on what the knot was so she continued to feel about for anymore keys to what the knot may be.

As you exit the academy you will hear the screams of villagers in panic. If asked, they will tell you that large rodents have been spotted all over the village wreaking havoc. It is unclear how many there are, but they have already attacked major food stores and made a mess of several homes in the housing district.
Unfortunately, most able-bodied shinobi are out on missions so it will be up to the academy students to deal with the problem.

Maybe if she could look at the others around her she might have a better chance at figuring out what her’s was. Taking a break she peered around the class, to her surprise she saw that many were nearly finished or in the process of untying their own. This wouldn’t help her out in the slightest; with a sigh she returned to her own ropes and did another attempt at feeling out what the knot could be. One… two… three lumps on it, that was a good hint, there were only a few knots with that number. She closed her eyes thinking back to the pages in the book she read about the types of knots focusing in an attempt to visualize what knot it could be. “hm maybe it’s that… three lumps and it likely slips…” she commented aloud as she felt around for any other notable things about it. Rope position was important just as much as the knot itself so maybe it would help to feel along the rest of the rope. “her fingers felt along and noted that the angles connecting into the rope were fairly sharp leaving only the most nimble of fingers able to get a hold of the knot to untie it. "Aha! this is a smart knot to use!" she commented aloud finally figuring out which one it was.

The attempt made was a failure in the end. The knot he had tried to make was flawed from the beginning,as he had tried to make a knot a lot like a bowline knot, but Radagon added several more loops in an attempt to keep the way a bowline knot is, yet compensate for the degrading effect it went through over time. The same kind of knot Yoshi-sensei used on Radagon, but in the end it didn't work. Instead of compensating for the degrading, the knot would simply fall apart at the slight pull of just one loop. Though this was sort of the same knot he had, this one would even fall apart if someone were to just use enough force and the knot would pull itself back and straighten out. Since this attempt was a failure, Radagon put the rope back on his desk and began to think of another way to do a knot. While he thought about it, another thought occurred to him while he thought about the rope. His father was working on a chemical compound that would increase a piece of clothing that could be much more resistant to burning. Thought the compound had worked in a way, the leather his father had tested his compound on actually cooked on the inside was the outside was unharmed. But, what if his father had used the compound on a much thinner material, like cloth, and dip it into the compound. Reaching down to his bag, Radagon grabbed his journal from his bag, grabbed some ink and a small brush, and opened up the journal to a fresh page and began writing down the exact way to complete his father's theory. Most likely his father would come up with this idea within an hour, maybe more, or maybe he already did. But at least his father would see that his son had also come up with the idea. After writing down the theory, Radagon put away the journal and grabbed the rope for another try at the rope to make a good knot.

Now it was the challenging part, getting situated in such a way she could grip the knot to untie it. She had to do it without moving to much or the ropes would tighten on her and make it far more difficult to get out. “Here we go…” she gulped with a bit of nervousness as she begin wiggling her body around slowly shift her arms into a position where she could get at the knot and start untying it as fast as possible. As it stood now her body was already a bit sore from sitting in place so long without so much as an adjustment or stretch to shake out the natural settling discomforts that come from these school chairs. Her tongue between her teeth in effort once more she began to wiggle and snake her fingers to the core of this knot. It was arduous and took her concentration to new levels as she work diligently at wiggling her fingers between ropes to reach their goal. “Almost their… just a little more” she commented as she could almost completely grasp the knot in one hand now, she only needed to get her other hand in a similar position to get the ball rolling. Her arms sat awkwardly as she felt an urge coming on, a certain itch at her nose. "Oh no no n- chuu!" With a squeak of a sneeze all of her attempts took a step backwards, The ropes tightened on her like a vise pinning her arms tighter to her body.

Radagon was able to make the knot he was aiming for, though even if it was a complete knot, it wasn't the same knot the teacher had made. This one had two few loops and twists, and even though it was a good knot, it made the victims hands basically dead, as it was too tight and would cause the person in question to have their hands numb. But, Radagon didn't consider this a total lose, for in a way this knot was useful for detaining high value targets, and would make sure that they would be unable to escape, or at least make it much more harder for someone to try when their hands are literally tied up and useless. Reaching down for his journal in his pack, Radagon began to write down the steps needed to be taken when tying this sort of knot around someone's hands. This way, he would review it later when he had the chance, memorizing it for a future need. Once he was sure that he had all the steps he had taken written down, Radagon put his journal and writing material away, the went back to thinking about another knot he could try. Alot of ninja's would be the most likely of people who would be tied up, so Radagon thought it would be a good idea to not only make a knot that could restrict a persons hands, but as well as their fingers. Grabbing the rope in front of him, Radagon began trying out new ways to make knots that could inhibit the fingers as well as the hands.

It figures of all the times to have a nose itch it is when you have no free hands to fix it. The sneeze was the end result of fate taunting Sanyo in her attempt to get free. Her arms were now awkwardly positioned her earlier efforts now a waste as she now worked at getting her hands into the proper position once more. She needed to figure out a means to get her hands in the right place, as it stood one was now nearly at her face and the other was down at her leg. Well the struggle began again as she wiggled her arms and hands back through the ropes back to where they were positioned just moments ago before the catastrophe of her nose struck. Pausing for a moment she took a few breaths closing her eyes to relax and focus. The tightened ropes made these breath a bit more difficult but she ended up feeling more at ease in the end and proceeded with wiggling and worming her hands back into position to get a hold on that knot to get out of these restrictive binds. A few more moments of wriggling and her hands were almost back in position to get to the task that was assigned for the day. There it was! her hands gripped the knot and nimbly began to process of removing it. Soon the tightness she felt across her body was released and she stood with a stretch the rope dangling from a hand as she felt successful though a little tired from this exercise.

Hattori sat in the same seat he had each day before, but stopped short when he saw the knots on the desks. Hattori closed his eyes when he was seated, and thought over the detention he'd been in a month prior. Back then, he'd completed a total of ten knots. The Square Knot, the Sheepskank, the Bowline, he listed mentally, The Barrel Hitch, the Celtic Knot, the Noose Knot, the Slip Knot, the Figure Eight Knot, the Sheetbend Knot, the Overhand Knot... Those are the ten that I mastered. Chances are that I won't need to be testing the Sheepskank, Bowline, Barrel Hitch or Celtic Knot though. That leaves the other six...

Hattori took his seat and crossed his hands, and meditated on the six knots that might just turn up in the test. All of the sudden, Hattori heard the sensei clear his throat. He announced the subject of the test: the Rope Escaping Technique. s**t, Hattori thought, gritting his teeth for a moment, before calming himself down, No... no, wait... I know how to make the knots, therefore I know how to unmake them as well. Most knots have a simple release mechanism. If you pull the right line, the entire thing falls apart. This shouldn't be too bad.

Yoshi-sensei continued on to say that each student will be tied to their chair, and be expected to free themselves. Anyone who didn't complete the rope-tying assignment was to complete it after class, I'm glad I dodged that bullet...

The sensei took a rope, and began tying up the first student. One after another, he binded his students to their chairs. When he got to Hattori, he spent just a little more time on the knot, and gave it an extra pull at the end. The young Fuuma winced in pain- the intense coarseness and tightness of the rope wasn't something he was expecting.

After the sensei returned to his desk, it took the student nearly ten minutes just to get to a point where he could move his hands enough to study the damn knot!

”Ok. Take a deep breath as he ties you up. That way the ropes will have a little bit of give to them and give you some room to work.” Hizen glared at his chuunin examiner as the man pulled Hizen’s bonds tight, letting out a small grunt as the man gave the rope a little extra pull, but managed to keep his lungs full so that he could have a little bit of room to work. Letting out his breath, Hizen felt the ropes loosen just enough so that he could move his hands up to feel the knot holding him to the chair.
”Hrmm… I don’t think this is one of the knots I studied intently during our lessons. Leave it to Yoshi-sensei to use one he knows I’m not as familiar with.” Hizen turned his head as far as he could, trying to see if he could gain any information from the way the ropes circled his body. The particular angle at which the rope exited the knot could give him information about what knot was used. ”Hmm… One… Two… Three… Four lumps in this knot. That’s a lot of help… Not. Lots of knots have that many lumps in them.”

Hattori shut his eyes tight and wriggled his hands, little by little loosening the rope around his hands. It wasn't very signifigant, but every micrometer of extra rope was a micrometer that he could move his hands and fingers. Every little bit added up to him being able to analyze and understand the knot around his wrists.

Hattori finally got enough room to move wiggle his wrists opposite directions. He touched the rope with one finger, and followed it to the nearest intersecting rope. With another finger, he followed it over the hump, and trailed it to the next divider- then the next after that.

In his head, the student pieced together a three-dimensional picture of the rope around his hands. Bight by bight, loop by loop, and knot by knot- the picture in his head got clearer and more detailed. Once the picture was in full focus, the student sighed audibly, Damnit, this knot is going to be a real pain in the a**- if I'm looking at it right. The knot is basically three simple knots on top of each other. Each knot secures its loose end with the tightnes of the knot above it... Here goes nothing...

Radagon was unable to make the knot he wanted. Seemed it was actually too difficult to even make the knot go around fingers, less one had a much longer piece of rope on hand. But, since even Radagon didn't even have the amount of rope needed to make the knot, he decided to just stop trying to make the knot and didn't even wanted to try it again. Best to make sure the rope used was tight enough to keep someone from using their hand seals. Since Radagon had failed again, he decided to take a small break from making knots. Seeing how these knots were going to take him some time to finish, Radagon grabbed his journal once more, this time to review his earlier theory's that he had written down in the past. Once such theory was when his father was trying to create a new jutsu with a combination of several different chakra. By different chakra, Radagon's father was trying to see if several people were to use their chakra together for a jutsu that it would succeed. For the experiment, he and Radagon went and tried to combine their two chakra's to try and make a single large fireball. Of course they did this far from the village and in a safe area, and were actually partially successful. Partially, meaning that because Radagon was underdeveloped in his chakra that the jutsu was much smaller than it was supposed to be. Radagon smiled at that memory. Few times has his father and himself been able to work on a project together. But, now was not the time to remember the good old times. Radagon needed to keep up with his work and continue on in his class. So, grabbing the rope from the desk, Radagon began trying to make another knot, starting by looping around with one of the ends of the rope.

Not bothering to listen to any more banter between the students and the sensei, Takuya stood up. With his backpack slung over his shoulder, he hefted the rope that was now on the floor into his arms, dropping it unceremoniously before giving Miyuki a disapproving stare before walking out of the class. He was done so there was no real need to linger, he had no desire to watch the girls antics any longer.

His steps were even and ahead he saw the student who had left just moments before him. As he reached the door to the exit of the Academy however, the piercing screams from civilians outside reached his ears. Something about the sound awoke something feral inside of him, and he couldn't surpress his dark grin. He was about to make his way out when the sound of laughter met his ears once more.

Turning his attention to the hallway once more he moved sidways, back to the hallway which beckoned to him

After making yet another knot, which was much similar to the one he had made earlier, Radagon began to untie the knot so that he could start again. He found this much more relaxing now that he was having himself a very steady pace. When he last did this, he was so stressed out by the failure after failure that he wasn't concentrating on his work, thus he lost focused and he ended up burning a length of rope. But, that was about a month ago, and he has gained a much better focus on the work he had to do over that month. So now he had a better time dealing with age old test he had failed long ago. Though the task was still tedious, Radagon didn't really have such a problem with it. Once he was done taking the rope knot apart, Radagon left the rope on his desk. He really wanted to keep going, bt he was already getting strained from the task. He felt a bit annoyed by the fact that he was making a knot and then taking it apart, and then remaking another one, either the same knot or another knot from some other thing to do to help him pass the time. Doing the same knot over and over again got boring, so Radagon would try to make a new one, but half the time he would find it out that it was a failure.
