Danny looked up at her house as they reached the porch, but she looked back at Alexander as he took her hand. She smiled, pleasantly surprised by his gesture, and listened before saying quietly, but in complete honesty, "And I'm glad to be coming almost everyday." She laughed at her own words and looked up at Alexander. He was easily a good few inches taller than her. "I'm looking forward to working there." What she had said was pure honesty, although she hadn't said why she was looking forward to it. That was her little secret. She squeezed his hand in hers, not really loosening the grip he had on her at all.

  ╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander looked at her. It was dim, but he could see every detail of her clearly. The time period had changed her style of course, but she was still the same girl - woman - he'd fallen in love with all those years ago. She still had the same light in those gorgeously dark eyes, he sensed the same fire in her heart, though the circumstances now didn't require her to show it as much. While he observed her, he found himself drawing closer to her, or drawing her closer, he wasn't sure which.

The snow fell a little heavier now, and Danny looked around her for a second before her gaze fell on Alexander. He was such an attractive young man. She couldn't help that he also had a personality that attracted her, too.
His hand was so warm in hers. She looked down at their hands, and feeling a slight pull from Alexander, she looked up at him. He was still giving her that look. She had seen it once before, when they had first met. It was a kind of loving expression, but his eyes held something different. They were filled with a sort of longing, but for what Danny couldn't tell.
The tugging feeling was still there, small but significant. So she decided to let him pull her. She took a small and slow step forward, her eyes filled with wonder, a little confusion, and a dash of expectation. She went to ask him what the matter was, but all that came out was a small, quiet, "Alexander?" A small smiled made its way onto her face.
There was this small feeling... of what, Danny didn't know. It was like a second conscious, a second mind inside of her, pushing her to keep going. It was like a past life was trying to tell her something, but Danny didn't know what it was. It was pushing her forward, and before she knew what she was doing, that little second conscious made her take his other hand in hers.

He looked up then, snapping to. He was unable to suppress a frustrated sigh as the moment was broken, though he looked at Danny gently. "It really is starting to get late." He said, standing up straight now. "And getting colder, you should head inside before you freeze." He said, putting a hand on her bare shoulder.

Danny's cheeks took on a dark crimson as Alexander jumped and she took a few staggering steps of her own backwards. Her hand shot behind her head, scratching her neck, embarrassed. "O-Oh, yeah..." she said, her eyes looking back at Alexander, seeing his gentle expression. That calmed her down a bit.
As Alexander set his hand on her shoulder, Danny noticed the now obvious goose bumps that had risen from the cold. She shivered a little.
From inside her house, a voice called out,
"Danny? Is that you?"
"Mom," she said quietly, looking towards the door. "I guess I should go..." she said. She took a step towards the door, pausing a second before looking at Alexander. She then went up her steps and onto the porch, turning one last time to say, "Goodnight." She sweetly smiled, opening her front door and stepping inside, Alexander vanishing from her view as she closed the large door behind her.

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander waited until she was safely inside before turning to head back to the Apothecary. He kicked a stone as he went, watching the ground. He decided to walk at a normal pace instead of getting home in a flash. He kicked a stone along the way, his hands in his pocket. "Ah, I know I shouldn't rush into things..." He said to himself quietly before running a hand through his hair with a wry smile. "But it's torturous." He said, kicking the stone into the underbrush. He looked up as the snowflakes began getting bigger, coloring his hair white. He shook his head to shake the snow off, but once he made it home he was covered again. As he came in, Rasiel trotted up to him. Alexander picked him up and looked him in the face. "I envy your simple life sometimes." He said with a sigh. His response was a tongue to the nose, licking the water off of it as the snow on Alexander began to melt.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Danny let herself fall back on the front door as she closed it shut. Her eyes slid closed for a moment, her face scrunching up in aggravation at herself. What were you doing?! she asked herself, her hand reaching up to rub her forehead.
"Danny?"
"I'm right here," she said out loud, opening her eyes to see her mom coming into the front room.
"Danny, where's your jacket?"
Her dark eyes scanned over herself before she realized she still had snow sprinkled over her; she hadn't taken a jacket with her to the shop this morning, and so didn't have anything to cover up with all day. "Forgot it, I guess," she answered, brushing some white fluff from her front and shoulders.
"Well then, at least go get changed into something warm... You know, I was worried sick. You hadn't been answering your phone, and..."
Her mother's voice faded as Danny began to climb the stairs. The older woman kept talking, but Danny didn't hear her. There was a pounding in her head. Not like a normal headache, but something more. It was the same feeling that had pushed her into Alexander just a few minutes before. It was like some force was trying to tell her something, trying to make her remember. But she didn't know what she was supposed to do about it, there was nothing she needed to remember. So she dismissed it as just a migrane, and headed upstairs towards the shower.

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander laid on his bed, staring at the ceiling as he stroked Rasiel, who'd decided to curl up on his stomach. He closed his eyes and memories surged forward, as though waiting for him to relax.
Alexander waited. It was dark, she'd be coming soon. She always came once darkness fell, it was the only time she could slip away. If the others noticed her returning to the woods for hours at a time for no good reason, they'd expect she was up to something and that wouldn't be good for her family. His bright eyes opened as he heard her footsteps. She was trying to be quiet. "Oh how adorable." He murmured as he locked in to the direction she was heading. He waved a hand and a gentle wind began to blow, shaking the trees ever so slightly and hiding his movements as he moved through the treetops. He settled once he got to the tree above their usual meeting spot. He waited as the wind died down, watching her until she began to fidget. He grinned, taking an acorn from the tree and dropping it behind her. When she spun around, he swung down by his knees. Their faces came even and he caught her shoulders, bringing his lips to hers and keeping them there. He laughed as she eventually came back to her senses and pushed him away, her face crimson. He laced his fingers behind his head, hanging there as she sputtered. "What is wrong with you!?" the girl finally cried. "You about scared me to death! Why weren't you here at the usual time!?" She asked. Alexander blew out a puff of air, still grinning. "Well, what fun would that be, my dear?" He asked as she stared away from him, obviously doing her best to get rid of her deep blush. "You're much more fun when you're unsettled anyway." Alexander said, reaching up to right himself. She watched him do so. "And what is that supposed to mean, you-"
A huge sneeze from the fox on his stomach, resulting in the canine's claws digging into his stomach, brought Alexander back to the present. He sat up to look at Rasiel. "Gee thanks." He said, tousling the fur on the foxes head as Rasiel sniffled. He tended to get colds easily around this time of year.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

After a lukewarm shower, Danny caught herself standing against the bathroom wall, her towel still wrapped around her wet body. Her head had been pounding all throughout the shower, and turning the faucet from hot to cold didn't help. Her knees wobbled and she staggered forward and gripped the side of the sink counter, her knuckles turning white at the effort. Just make it to your room, she told herself, her free hand grabbing at the door knob until she could turn it. She headed out into the cooler hallway air. After a few timid steps she was in her room, door shut behind her. Her vision was blurry, and she let herself kneel on the floor. She was quick and hurriedly got dressed in a simple tank top and shorts, letting herself plop down on the bed, thankful that she didn't have to move anymore. The migraine had gotten worse, and she let herself slip into unconsciousness.
Danny walked down the sidewalk of her neighborhood, and her steps echoed through the winter air. It was cool, but not cold. 'That's funny,' she thought, 'It had been snowing earlier.'
She quickened her pace and looked around, seeing a path leading off through the woods behind a neighbors backyard.
'I don't remember a path behind Ms. Wilson's backyard...' She stepped towards the path and followed it. It was nothing more than a dusty foot trail, but she followed anyways, in her tank top and shorts.
Pretty soon she found herself in thicker woods, and when she turned around, the foot path was gone. 'Wasn't it just here?' she thought, looking back towards the way she was headed. The path was gone there too. 'Where am I?'
"Why, you're right where you belong." The voice came out of nowhere, and Danny spun around, looking this way and that, trying to find where the echoing noise came from. It didn't sound like it had a starting point, but Danny made an effort to find it.
"Why so on edge? It's alright, it's just me."
"Who's 'me'?"
"Why, me."
Danny spun once more and stopped. There, beneath the only tree in sight that had leaves on it still, was Louis. His light brown hair was swooshed to the side, and he was wearing nicer clothing than she had on: a white t-shirt with a brown vest over it, with nice dark brown pants to accompany them. Very... old fashioned clothing.Dress shoes covering his feet, and Danny smiled.
"Louis?"
"Who else?" he asked, and he opened his arms, as in to invite her into a hug.
She ran to him, closing her arms around him.
"I'm sorry I haven't been able to see you lately," she told him, looking up into his light eyes. Wait, light eyes? They were almost gray, they were so light. She had seen those light eyes before. Those weren't Louis's normal eyes...
"What happened to your eyes?" she asked, a little worried.
Louis sighed and smiled, as if she had said something funny, but just said, "Odd talk, coming from you. Just like always."
"What?" she asked, confused. She let go of him and stepped back, and he turned around, his body now seeming on edge.
Danny froze, although she didn't hear a thing.
"Louis?" she asked, and he hushed her violently.
She stayed quiet, and after another moment, Louis turned and rushed towards her, holding her close as he said, "Don't move; they're coming."
"Who's coming?" she asked, a little scared now. She didn't get an answer.
After a few more seconds, the leaves that were in the single tree began to blow violently, and she closed her eyes, frightened. Louis tightened his grip on her.
Suddenly the air stopped blowing, and Louis let her go. She stood up straight and looked around, spotting a pair of men a ways away from them, wearing something similar to Louis.
"Get out of here," Louis said, venom lining his words. Danny flinched at the harshness in his voice.
"Or what?" one of them said.
"You know exactly what will happen," Louis spat at them, and they chuckled.
"Wait until the Queen hears about this..." one of them whispered, but it was loud enough for Danny to hear it.
They disappeared without another word, and Danny turned to Louis and said, "Louis, what is going on?!"
"You gotta go back," Louis said, turning to her.
"Louis, you're not answering my questions! What's going on? Who were those guys? Why do I have to go back, I don't wanna go back!"
"You have to!" Louis said, his hands now on her shoulders. Danny's vision went blurry as blotches of black began to cover up everything.
'What is this?' she thought, and suddenly...
She woke up.

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander woke up to sunlight streaming through an icy window. He sat up, slightly cold due to the fact he was currently shirtless and had fallen asleep on top of his covers. When he sat up his hair was a mess, sticking out at odd angles all over the place. He'd dreamed quite a bit last night, though he couldn't remember them. He felt something shuddering against him and looked to see Rasiel under the covers. The shape jumped as the little fox sneezed. "Aw, my poor little friend." Alexander said, scooping up the unhappy ball of red fur and cradling him against his chest in one arm. He took him to his dresser and pulled out a small green vest with a large pocket that took up the whole front. He quickly dressed in a simple white shirt before slipping the vest onto Rasiel and carrying him to the front of the store. He began gathering different herbs and placing them in the pocket on the front of Rasiel's vest.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Danny woke up with her back against the floor. She pushed herself up, rubbing her head. Her neck was stiff, but she stood up despite the pain. Must have rolled off in my sleep, she thought, walking towards her closet. She quickly got dressed, making sure to grab a specific ring, slipping it on, and threw her purse over her shoulder before grabbing her phone and heading downstairs.
She wanted to get to work quickly. To her, it was the most interesting part of her day.
"Danny, where are you going? It's only 9 in the morning."
Danny turned towards the sound of her father's voice. She never had told them about her new job. She kind of smirked at the thought and walked into the kitchen where she grabbed a bagel and popped it into the toaster.
After 15 minutes of talking about her new job, Danny had convinced her parents that everything was okay and she had to head out soon. She had already eaten her bagel and headed down the street towards the apothecary.
She had specifically not taken her car for a reason. Soon enough, the shop was in sight.

╔══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╗Alexander had accompanied Rasiel's vest with a little cap and a scarf. It seemed to be the only ways to keep him from shaking though the shop was warm enough. He sat on the counter on a little pillow, his tail wrapped around his lower part, looking as miserable as one would expect a fox with a cold to look. Alexander was already working on things that needed to be done. The plants would need to be prepped for winter and a close eye would have to be kept on them. He scooped Rasiel up, pillow and all, as he moved from the front to the back rooms and back. If he disliked being moved around when sick, he hated being left alone.╚══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╝

Danny walked into the apothecary, letting the little bell ring just as if a customer had walked in. Alexander didn't seem to be in the front of the shop at the moment, so she stepped inside and looked around. A few things had been moved around, and she wondered what exactly he was doing with everything. "Alexanderrrr?" she called out, drawing out his name in question.

Danny answered Alexander with a cheery smile. "Good morning yourself," she said in return. Before she could answer his question, she spotted Rasiel and her girlyness kicked in. She squeal a little, rushing over to Rasiel, all smiles and giggles. "Oh my gosh, how cute!" she said, petting Rasiel softly on his head, gazing at his little vest and scarf.
