Maggi had been trapped in the net for some time, but even after she had been released, she had felt groggy, unable to move from her place on the ground. The reapers words felt..soothing. It was alright to just stay here, wasn't it. She soon forgot what was happening, what she had been doing and why she was here. Until Reds brave words snapped her out of it.
Getting to her feet, she watched the others launch powerful attacks at the reaper, and she felt compelled to do the same. Although she had no FEAR attack of her own (heres were more defensive then offensive), she still possessed claws, which she used to slash at their enemy.

((Survived this long through NPC magic)) "Don't worry, Moira. We'll get out of this," Norvie hissed, his tail flicking behind him as he moved to put himself between the figure and the zombie. Masterfully, he wrenched a pair of vials from his belt, chittering to himself as he quickly mixed them. It was smoking as he drew in a deep breath. He could do this, he could do it, he could- While gathering his courage, the concoction continued to smoke, and by the time he threw it, the resulting chemical explosion sent him tumbling backward to land in a smoking heap at Moira's feet. "I'll... protect you... no... no worries!" He wheezed. Arcana's voice knocked her out of her stupor, and she gasped when he reached for her, her eyes flickering from his face to his hand, and back again. Then she looked up at Malcolm, who'd been holding her all this time.. Back and forth she'd gone, from one set of arms to another, to keep out of everyone's way. To keep from failing, one more time. "It's.." She shivered at the kiss, and her cheeks flooded with color. The little smile on her face was enough to prove that she was glad he was safe. "It's all right." She slowly, carefully, climbed out of Malcolm's arms, and stood up straight, though her head still ducked shyly. "I can stand on my own two feet, now."

As soon as he managed to break free, surely all thanks to his own devices, Argyle turned abruptly and took a hasty step towards the exit. He'd already made the decision to leave, and now he'd been given the ability to do so, so...why wasn't he leaving. He didn't know why he felt compelled to stay here, even after the spell had been broken. Maybe it was Vanth, steadfast and loyal. Or the others who were so willing to fight. It made him really mad to not understand what he was doing. Fists clenched, he sounded a snort of annoyance, turned back around, and threw a punch at the first terrible person he saw. Who happened to be Rengath. And nobody was surprised. " Oh, I am so sorry," he gasped, feigning ignorance as he covered his mouth with the offending hand. "My mind is just not clear enough yet. Yes, that's probably it." HP: 50/50 DMG: 5 to Rengath

She had temporarily broken from the spell, but it was Red’s yell and attack that really did it. Tarot blinked and clutched her head with her arms. What had just…? She had almost given in, almost let herself become lost to the spell, but she wasn’t going to let that happen a second time. The ghoul was not inclined to fight, but everyone had their exceptions. Tarot glanced at Macthor while she took out her sword from its sheath. “Let’s hope defeating this boss won’t incur too many sacrifices,” she noted grimly.
Tarot stepped forward, but glanced back at her twin. Lips curled into a tiny smile as she watched him plant a kiss to Selene’s forehead. "I’m proud of you, dear." She turned toward Westhor, then at the stranger, then back to Westhor again. “Westhor, I need to ask you…” Tarot spoke quietly, leaning in toward the lightning elemental. “Would you…WOULDYOUGOONADATEWITHMEAFTERTHIS?”
Wow. Worst timing ever. Fighting the red blush spreading across her face, she took out her sword and ran forward to slash him with her blade.

Macthor momentarily forgot about the fact that his hands were twitching from the aftereffect of his lightning attack. Instead, he had turned to stare at Tarot with rather wide eyes, mouth hanging open. That cool, impassive mask of his had broken long ago.
...She was asking Westhor right now? Seriously?! This...this couldn't wait?
Staring as the ghoul then proceeded to attack the reaper, he leaned towards Akithor and Arcana without taking his eyes off of her, his voice lowering to a whisper. "...We're going to have to tag along on that date and see what happens, yeah?" It was the first thing that he would plan...once they got out of here.

"I know, I know - we promised we would," Moira reassured Norvie, muzzily, and then he was off with his chemicals and his vials, flying backwards to smack into the ground next to her. "H-hey, ruin others, not yourself," she informed him, scooting over to pull out a rag and pat out anything that seemed to be smoking too much. On her back, Gordon stretched out, his eyes fixed on their opponent, even as Vance finally reached them, clambering up onto Moira's back with every sign of satisfaction at a good bite well-delivered.

Arcana watched as Selene dropped to her feet, standing without him. He wasn't all that unpleased, a little lonely because he was so used to her and holding her in his arms. But right now, he couldn't be more prouder of his ghoul friend.
"I understand." He smiled at her, breathing in deeply as he ducked his head as well. Instead of wrapping his arms around her waist, or shoulders, He took her hand in a silent support of all of her strength and the love he had for her.
that same love prompted to do more things he would NEVER do in front of others, even in the midst of a battlefield.
"I just want you to know Selene...." He continued to flush as he leaned over her, his face intent on watching hers. His blush had spread down his whole body as he whispered to her, his hand reaching into his pocket. He pulled out one of his Tarot cards, one that showed two people in a embrace and handed it to her. "that your the only ghoul for me."
What he gave her was the Tarot card for Lovers, and a gentle, longer kiss then the others before on her lips. "After this is over, I will give you mine and Tarot's cards too...." He flushed, pulling back.
just to catch his sister asking Westhor to a date in the midst of her attack.
He leaned over back at Macthor and frowned. "I don't approve of this." He whispered, holding Selene's hand still. "But I agree. We should follow...."

"I'm... a scientist, not a fighter, ahahaha..." he coughed, blinking unevenly through his soot-covered glasses. His shoulder was still on fire, and refused to be put-out by her feeble patting. "Did... did I get him?" He straightened, blearily trying to catch sight through the soot-coated lenses, but all he saw was movement of the other students trying to close in. "W-we should have run while we could!" Norvie groaned, nose twitching as he tried to haul himself to his feet, oblivious to the fire that had spread to his hair, "Moira... we... we could die here and... and... I just.. I wanted to tell you..."

The haze snapped back into clarity suddenly and loudly, and Vanth let go of the breath she'd been holding, seizing up from all the stress and noise. All around her students were exploding with fire and lightning and rage against the Reaper who had nearly tricked them. Argyle had vanished into the seething mass of angry students.
It was not often that Vanth herself fought. The idea of violence, among their kind or any other, was sickening and wrong to her. But she had led a privileged life. Sheltered. Of course she did not become exposed to fighting until she had been sent to school, her kind reaped FEAR from the dead and her family hid themselves away with their riches to protect themselves. No threat had ever seemed so large and so sure that peace was not the answer.
Janus was by her side, pushing his face into the hand limp by her side. She felt his fur bristling between her fingers, saw his eyes staring up at her to do something for the both of them. And she felt magic churning in her blood, focused with cold precision by the presence of Janus, her weapon. The destructive power crackled through her fingertips, familiar but forbidden by her own beliefs. It would be so easy to get get carried away...
Not that it was so easy to weigh her options in the heat of battle. It came to her on its own, because she and her friends were in danger and her instincts were overriding any qualms her morality might have. Practically possessed, she stretched her free hand out toward the enemy reaper in a quick arcane gesture, loosing a bolt of shadow at him.

Selene stood just a little taller, in that moment. She tilted her head up and gave Arcana a squish-faced smile, though as soon as he bent down, her lips parted as she inhaled a gasp through her teeth, and watched, wide eyed and frozen stiff. Was he going to..?
She felt the card slip into her hands, and looked down at it. "Oh, how beautifu-" She'd been sufficiently distracted by the gift, failing to notice when his lips came to claim hers. The word ended in a squeak, and her eyes widened as she stared in awe at the beautiful boil kissing her. How did she get to this point? How did she, of all people, manage this?
When he tried to pull away, her little arms flung around his shoulders without a single thought as to what she was doing. She pulled him back, smushing his lips awkwardly against hers. Her feet had to get on tiptoe to do it, but she was determined. Determined!
And then her arms slid away, and she ducked back under the shadow of her hair, hiding in her shame. How very scandalous.

Arcana smiled softly as she apperciated his card gift and then....Pulled him down into another kiss. Her arms wrapping around his neck in a tight embrace that left him open for attack
He squeaked, his face flushing completely red and just...THE HAPPIEST BOIL EVER ALIVE. NO MOMENT COULD COMPARE TO THIS OH JACK. SHE WAS KISSING HIM, HOLDING HIM. KIS...KIS...KISSING HIM. OH MAN THIS JUST WHAT IS THIS FEELING.
Internally he was freaking out, externally he was just....blushing, his face red as they pulled apart and stood next to each other awkwardly and all shyly.
"Sel...." He broke off and then just...leaned down to rest his head on her shoulder. "No matter what happens now....When we get out of here....." His face flushed again, "Will....you kiss me one more time?" He ducked his head, "I have....become addicted to your...kisses."
Oh my jack at his confession.

When Arcana put his head on her shoulder, she put her hand on his head and patted it gently. Her hand slowed to a stop when he asked her for more kisses, and a tiny, nervous giggle escaped her. She put her hands on his sides and turned him around, holding him with her back to her. "Arcie, everyone isssss watching ussss," She reminded him, as she hid behind his back and gently nudged him to his sister. But before she let him go, she got up on her toes and whispered one last thing. "I promise." Then she sent him on his way and stumbled back against Malcolm from the sheer force of pushing Arcana away.
