Why is Marth wearing a mask?
He hides it in shame for failing his kingdom.
He's not really Marth, he's just claming to be him.
Hey, it worked for Camus, right?
  Because he's A GIRL
IS ROY IN THIS GAME TOO?
  This is a bad idea.

SUPER! I'll be curious as to how super it is for its size. That thing looks mean. So apparently they're also very mobile and there will be more than one too. Sounds like an exciting chase.

Also, we've gotten the Mystery of the Emblem spotpass team. Headed by King Marth. I was wondering about King Marth, and if he'd be included, and how he would differ from Prince Marth. So we've got Prince Marth, King Marth, and DLC Marth. Marths abound! Let's have a Marth party! Marth and I against the world! It's like the dreams of a Smash Bros fangirl! Surrounded by Marths! Marth!
Looking at the DLC conversations, it also looks like King Marth and Prince Marth have different conversations in the spirit talisman chapters. How do they handle that? is one is at the end of Shadow Dragon and one is at the end of Mystery? Or something like that? And I am aware they have different stats and skills.

"No one knows which one is the one you need to kill?" ... Oy, somehow, it makes me think of Kishuna where we need to gang up on him to kill him just to get to the Gaiden chapter in FE7... sweatdrop

As for the King Marth, I guess the only way to know is find a video in Youtube and see how he looks... sweatdrop

HERE'S JOHNNY! PALLA!
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

You don't get her for killing the right Revenant, you get her for killing ALL of the Revenants, who run away "Entombed Heaven" style. (So... it's like missions with Thieves: Kill the thief before it gets off the map to claim the item it stole. But you have to kill lots.)

I have no freaking clue as how powerful the big ones are though (but there's only 2 big ones. The smaller ones are still counted towards the requirement for Palla.)

Her stats:
Falcon Knight
LV20
HP 60
STR 38
MAG 27
SKL 45
SPD 40
LCK 25
DEF 27
RES 22
Lightning Speed, Counter, Strength Cry, Speed Cry, Sol

Woot, her uniques are from Male Classes! And she got the Male-only Cry....
She can learn all the cries....
Ultimate Cry bot detected?

(I bet Minerva is for the finale of the UT set)

Overall, I think the art is okay. The armor's a bit bulky and her exposed leg looks kinda off, like it's bent where her thighs should be (Or is that armor? Iunno). Those arm cuff things are kinda goofy, and I think she'd look significantly less bulky without them.

Wait... Is that a crotch shot?

DAMN IT

I should have known this would happen some day. Those short split peg knight skirts have been there since the beginning on the three original sisters, reproduced in OA's and in the TCG art... of course some day something like this would come along... Eaughghg....

Past that... eh. Overall I really can't say I'm a fan. Even without the crotch shot, it looks awkward and bulky, in the armor, but in her pudgy face and legs as well. The expression does now help this drawing feel any more wholesome.

We got an artist yet?

I'll be betting on Minerva as well. Not to mention hoping.

I'm actually thinking that a lot of the art grievances I have regarding clothing can be chalked up to design decisions in the regular style of Awakening not exactly translating to other artists. Not all of the complaints, mind you. And some of them translate much better than others. Something to think about...

I don't know it, and the topic on SF hasn't said it yet.
(I think it's probs some random hentai artist off Pixiv like with Cellica)

Apparently we've got some fellow that goes by Homare. From Alpha System. Someone on SF has suggested Shigeaki Suegu, who does yield results on google, including Homare's website. I'm not linking his site here. It's NSFW.

His picture in Akaneia Chronicle was not that bad. He still had the pudgy faces and some weird anatomy on Sheeda, but it was an interesting composition. Though the other two figures (Marth and Katarina) are from the torso up. No panties. Just the split peg knight skirt that has always existed and been the subject of artist prodding.

I like Est and Catria's art a lot more than this.

You remember when FE art was equal opportunity? I do.
I'm not gonna throw a hissy fit about all the degrading art for the ladies. Some of them are not bad. But I really can't help but be a bit disappointed.

I agree with ThePersonInFrontOfYou. Personally, I'm just glad that it hasn't gotten to comic book levels of "bad female art design".

But what is up with Palla's thigh? Maybe the belt is just higher than I would think it should be, but that just makes it disconcerting.

Hey hey hey. Not all American comickers are Rob Liefeld or Jim Balent. I know what you mean, though. Bad art is everywhere, and you sometimes find yourself really rolling your eyes at what is given a pass and what catches on. That goes for everything.

And it's not like my opinion automatically sours if an artist objectifies women or draws cheese. Heck, I'm a huge Akira Toriyama fan (Though I'm not a fan of DBZ or GT. I'm fond of Dragonball, though. And you already know I adore DQ). But I know that Toriyama has more range, and he fully acknowledges this side of himself, which I respect. And most of all he can draw pictures that suggest that a women has a character beyond "I has bewbs!"

I just meant that there's definitely worse art out there. I don't read or know about many comic books, so I'm sure not all are like the worst. The worst ones are just the ones that get all the attention.

I just didn't want to point fingers.

I get ya. I didn't mean to single you out. It's just that I have a bit of a knee-jerk reaction to people comparing Japanese and American comic artists and lumping American comics into one "Bad" category when comparing them to Japanese art. That's what I get for being exposed to so many weaboos. :B
Of course there's worse art out there. That's a given. It's just that this is a professional promotional piece of an already established character from a series that, while it changes styles over the course of the series, has a general visual look. I don't read many comics in general, Japanese or American (Aside from some of my favorite comic strips), but I do like to have a general idea of the scope of the medium, and I'm sorry if I came on strong.

I never meant to compare American and Japanese. To me, they're all visual art. I've only seen funky anatomy in American comic books, but I suppose there must be some funky anatomy going on in manga, too. I just haven't seen it.
And I'm just a casual observer, not a critical one, so just about anything would be "coming on strong" to me. My original comment was supposed to be something of a joke; guess I should remember to put in emoticons more often.

But seriously... what is up with Palla's thigh? I'm still trying to figure out what the anatomy is here. O.o

Nah, you don't need to resort to emoticons. Expressing stuff over the net is always weird. I think that reaction was mostly me.

I think Palla has two knees per leg.

I have been requested into this thread LOL. Well not really, but since I've played FE13 so...yea...

Giving my 2 cents on Palla's artwork XP. I actually kind of like it. Though there are a few awkward parts yea like the thigh and the...funny...tiny...feet....I mean I know women have small feet but NOT THAT SMALL. The armor looks more like the Griffon Knight's armor instead of Falcon Knight >_>;; not sure what's up with that but then again there's Catria's artwork who feels the need to show off some cleavage *Not that I have a problem cause hot dayum dat dress LOL*

In some cases I'm okay with the small feet. In the case of characters like DLC Lyn I can let it slide because that portrayal of Lyn is very stylized. That goes for the general FE13 style as well. but when people go for a more realistic style, people expect more realistic proportions. So here it looks more derpy to me.

I guess it just depends on the angle, style and how its drawn to make things work in that way XD.

Also, am I a pervert for impatiently waiting for the release of the rest of the resort? Lol >_>;; I mean..kinda excited about the challenges since some of them look wicked hard and near impossible. But.....Beach..hot spring...>_> <_<;;
