((IN I COME TO SAVE THE DAY!!!! And revive the RP w/o a defibrillator))

Princo Riordan raised an eye at Loas final comment. He had learned that she spoke softly often to hide her true feelings, so he learned to listen carefully. "The young boy, Kyle Alexander. He wasn't afraid. In fact he seemed fascinated." He gave a soft sigh, "This is taking an unnecessary toll on my father. And the fear that the stress may start affecting Owen as well." Riordan then muttered under his breath about overpayed doctors who could do next to nothing.

Jeremy heard Riordans comments about a doctors, and he knew that the Prince was thinking about his brothers poor health. "I know it isn't my place to advise," He said calmly, "But perhaps, more practical doctors would be better? Doctors who study modern sciences and medicine rather than hundred year old documents on how to treat illnesses." He shrugged, "A more practical approach, might be able to help him."

((hahahah! Bet you didn't think I'd notice))
Loa lifted her gaze, smiled softly- barely- and nodded. "Indeed he did, my prince." She gave him wordless thanks for the reminder. At the mention of Owen being touched by the stress of these affairs, Loa frowned. The poor boy.. If only there was some way to help. She listened to Jeremy's words, and was reminded of a doctor in incolumitas. "Were the king to allow it, we'd need a doctor outside of our own land. None of ours have knowledge of the... illness." she disliked calling it an illness, because it didn't seem to quite be that. "His Majesty would never allow one who was not a noble doctor touch a child of his." She murmured, keeping the disdain from her voice.

Riordan frowned at his fathers stubbornness, though he shared the trait. "Well, then I'll bring the doctor in myself. Sneak him in under cover of darkness like an assassin, if I must." Riordan said bluntly, "I will let my fathers arrogance prevent Owen from getting the proper help." Riordan sighed, knowing that there was no way he could get a doctor. He was lucky if he could get outside the castle without Loas help. "The one time I want to do something, and I am powerless."

((And to pick up with our rag-tag group in Incolumitas.....))

"Well, thank you." Madison replied with a blush, shocked at being called pretty. "And I would have guessed. My mom tends to put her heart into everything she does, so it wouldn't surprise me to think that she feels work and home are seperate lives." Madison smiled at this, thinking about her mother. Anyone who could see it would know that the two were close, "My dad says it's funny, because my mom and I are so different." The look again, "And then there's my brother." her eyes lost the loving light they shard when she spoke of her parents, and she seemed to look upset, "He just says I must have been switched at birth with a troll, and how he hopes to find his real sister some day...he never forgave me for making our family move away...not that I blame him..." She looked down, tears at the corner of her eyes. She shook her head, "I'm sorry. Here I am talking way too much when we are in a hurry to save the prince. Is there anything else we need to do here?"

Lorne shrugged, "I don't think so. But Its not my decision. This is Nye's party. But if we wanna get there before princey gets his head lopped off, we might wanna leave. Now."

Alexandres frowned at Lornes words but nodded, "I wouldn't say it in such a way. But I agree, we need to leave soon. It is not a short trip to Exortensis."

((Sorry for being gone for so long Dx I could murder myself for the absence if it wasn't for the fact that I still want to write x3))

Godelieve was done paying attention to anything really besides the hair in her face. She walked over to a side wall, away from everyone and messed with her bangs.
Faelynn noticed her move and followed quickly, before speaking to the elf. "If your hair is bothering you, I can cut it for you." She looked at her with a small smile.
Godelieve peered out from her bangs to the blonde doctor. "I came over here to be alone." She sighed, but noticed that the woman was only trying to be kind. "My bangs need to be trimmed. Do you think you can manage that?" She wasn't being rude, just cautious.
Faelynn frowned at her remark of wanting to be alone and muttered a small sorry. Then she nodded to the question and spoke once more. "I cut my own bangs. Follow me to the kitchen, that way the mess won't be too hard to clean." She made her way to the kitchen and grabbed a small set of scissors.
Godelieve followed, and made sure Faelynn knew just how much to cut. When it was over, she was grateful. "Thank you, for helping." Her green eyes weren't hidden now. She walked back to the wall, waiting for someone to address her, specifically Lorne.
Faelynn muttered a small welcome and walked back to her brother, whispering in his ear. "Mind filling me in on what just happened?" It was bugging her that she really didn't know what was going on.

((On phone. I'll prettify it later.))

Lorne nodded the two girls as they came in smiling at Godelieve. "Hey, you got your bangs trimmed. There are beauiful eyes I've been missing." he then looked to Faelynn, "We were just talking about hightailing it out of here. We don't want the Prince dead before we arrive."

((Using an android right now. Don't mind me.))
Godelieve felt her cheeks heat up as a slight blush made itself present. "I told you I would get them cut." She smiled slightly to Faelynn as a real thank you.
Faelynn smiled back to Godelieve and listened to Lorne's summary of what happened. "Guess we better pack up some equipment for me to use since I don't have Slaine's magical healing abilities." She walked over to a bag and started putting supplies in it that she knew she would need.

Oralee glanced around her at the people she'd managed to gather so quickly- and then at Alexandre. He was a true help. She thought of Nyer, and Nye... She'd always thought she could handle herself on her own. When Nyer had raised her, teaching her to be an assassin, he'd taught her to fight as a single person, to fight without a group, without friends. Oralee had never realized that that didn't mean she might not need them. Nyer had had contacts and allies with him, people he's formed bonds with who were his friends. They didn't fight with him, but they were vital. She'd forgotten to form her own bonds like that. I can handle myself, I can be alone... But maybe I don't need to? Maybe I can keep the taint of my profession from spreading to them? As Nye, Oralee gave a nod. "Right. Leaving soon would be best." Glancing at Faelynn as she mentioned her brothers healing abilities, she walked over. In her current form, Nye, she didn't appear as an elf. She looked ot be a tall, human man. "You are in possesion of an older form of magic though." She glanced at Godelieve. "I don't suppose you know of elven magic? Some elves don't, if they were raised among humans." she glanced at Faelynn. "If you do, I might point out to you that Faelynn here is rare- a human with o- the magic of elves." Oralee almost said 'our' magic. Turning, Oralee headed for the door. Already, she was growing too close to these people.

Magic or no, Slaine packed up some medical supplies as well. He was magical, but not a miracle.

Loa glanced at her prince, saw the pain and frustration etched into his face. "My prince, this is not the 'one time' you want to do something," she murmured, before glancing down. "But you are not powerless." Loa bowed to him. "I am your bodyguard, but there are many in the castle trained to keep you safe. Trained by myself, even." She raised her gaze to his. "I will go to Incolmitas. I can get there faster by air, and I will find a doctor by the name of Slaine Cael. He is a small-clinic healer, but has seen more types of illnesses than any." Loa smiled softly as she straightened. "He is not aware of it, but he and his sister Faelynn are quite well known in Incolumitas. They may be able to help O- His highness.

Ohhh... now that is some juicy information, was what first went through Jody's mind when he first heard the prince of Exortensis and his bodyguard discussing how to sneak in a doctor for the younger prince behind the king's back.
Do I even want to include that in my report, though? Jody felt that the information was worth more than what got paid for his usual reports. But that wasn't even what really made him hesitate. He'd only been around them since the previous day, but Riordan and Loa were growing on him. He didn't want to add another obstacle to their lives, not with all they already had to deal with.
They were clearly in love with each other. Jody was entirely perplexed as to why they wouldn't even admit it to each other (though it seemed like Riordan was at least trying), but he could see the societal difficulties they were faced with clearly enough.
It wasn't like any of his clients knew he'd managed to get into the main palace grounds of the royal family of Exortensis, anyway. Why tell them just then?
Another peacock distracted Jody from Riordan, Loa, Rose, and Jeremy. Still can't even get over how beautiful peacocks are even when I've been living as one for more than a day straight--wait. There were three other peacocks within view. To Jody's knowledge, the royal family only kept three.
s**t. He glanced at Loa. She hadn't noticed. Yet. He shuffled away as quickly as he could and hoped he wouldn't be discovered.

Loa flickered a glance at the peacocks, instinctively feeling an affinitiy for them. They were birds, after all. Her wings fluttered, as she stared at the colors of their feathers. Then it sank in that one was sneaking away- and that there were four. Quickly striding over, Loa picked up the fourth, guilty peacock. Something felt... off about this one. She didn't feel the affinity. Turning and striding back over to her prince, she lifted the peacock towards him. "Something seems off about this peacock, and your family only keeps three." She took a moment to remember the magic for dispelling magic, and used it. It was a form of healing, healing the slight waves that magic made on nature.

((She's not the most powerful mage, so it could fail, but I'd prefer if he was suddenly in his human form.))

Someone was coming after him. The bodyguard. s**t. Jody realized, too late, that by trying to get away as quickly as possible he'd made it even more obvious that he didn't belong. If he'd just stayed calm, they probably wouldn't've been able to tell which peacock was him. Then again, she's an air beastial of some kind. She probably would've figured it out anyway.
He didn't struggle when she picked him up--even if he'd gotten out of her hands, she would've caught him again. He cocked his head questioningly at the prince when Loa held him towards him in a half-hearted attempt to come off as just an innocent bird. Then he felt Loa trying to reverse his magic. Even if he could transform, his magic wasn't strong enough to hold up against the spell, so he started flapping his wings and struggling to get Loa to let go of him before he was human-sized again.
When he'd finished transforming back, he was crouched low to the ground and holding himself up with one hand. He stood up immediately and glanced around, a little panicky. "Um." After a second or two, he'd calmed down enough to think. Riordan has all the authority here. Talk to him. He looked Riordan in the eyes for an instant, then smiled (or grimaced... he hoped he didn't look like he was grimacing...). The expression made him squint, which broke the eye contact for a second. This was on purpose; he didn't want to come off as threatening. "Hi."

Riordan was more than a little shocked at Loas reaction to the peacock. "True, we do only keep three but...." he said stepping back as the peacock was held in front of him, "Are you overreacting a little? Maybe someone gave us a fourth as a secret gift? And its a bird, what harm could it d......what in Gods name?" He said stepping in front of Rose and Jeremy drawing his ornamental sword. "Who the devil are you? And why were you snooping around here....as a peacock of all things?" He said, worried the man might be an assassin of some kind. "I warn you now, I was a prodigy at summoning, so unless you want to face down a dragon, you really should answer me."
PostPosted: Fri Nov 02, 2012 2:20 pm

Damn that woman's magic, and damn me for being so pathetic at it. Jody realized he'd put his hands behind his back on impulse and held them out so Riordan could see they were empty. "I'm Jody. I wasn't really trying to snoop, it's just that I was trying to blend in and there aren't any other places around here with peacocks... a peacock being the only shape besides this one I can assume. Which... y'know..." Jody blew a strand of hair out of his face and plucked at his shirt, which was basically made of yarn netting with very wide gaps between the yarn--all it really did was stop him from being completely bare-chested under his jacket. "... doesn't really blend in all that well." Jody did his best to keep his eyes on Riordan's face, not his weapon. "I don't actually mean to hurt anyone."
Well, at least not directly, Jody added in his mind. The bit about not trying to snoop was mostly a lie--by any normal person's definition, Jody was always snooping. It was the only thing he was really good at, even if he'd let his family believe he wasn't. Just because he didn't necessarily tell people everything he knew didn't mean he didn't remember everything he saw.

The instant he was in a human form, Loa let go and had her weapon drawn. She pointed it at him, and seeing Riordan had his sword drawn, instead stood behind the peacock shifter to prevent him from leaving. She pointed her sword at him, and glanced at Riordan. He had the true power, and it was up to him to pass the verdict on the snooper. Because that was definitely what he was. "Your Highness? Should I or should I not signal the other guards?"

Faelynn smiled at the fact that she was actually going on an adventure. "Slaine, I might not get that time to find a guy." She winked, referencing their talk from earlier in the day. She heard her being spoken about, but really payed no attention. She simply continued to pack up things.

"I do know of elven magic, I have some elemental magic myself." Godelieve looked at Faelynn in slight shock, and before saying anything she saw Nye head to the door. "Don't leave." Godelieve walked up to her from her previous standing spot. "Tell me more, I don't know a lot about elven magic. . . I only learned small things." She looked towards Lorne, asking him to help with her eyes.

Oralee came to a surprised stop when she was asked not to leave, and she tilted her head. "I'll tel you along the way. Elven magic is based in an affinity for nature. Faelynn has apparently spoken with my horse." Nearly brushing her hair out of her face, Oralee remembered that was a feminine gesture, and prevented herself. "Many elves can speak with the trees. Or are never lost within nature."
