It was a counter attack, and there was a smug look on her face then as she would use protect once more. Though this time, it wasn't aimed at herself but him ....as she would let those claws come forward and would aim to hurt that paw by letting it hit hard against something that wouldn't going to move or bend. Kind of like running your nails against a wall ..the wall would feel nothing but your nails would be bloody and in pain from the entire encounter.

Raven would allow himself a faint smirk as he walked the distance between himself and Excell, taking the PokeBalls gingerly from the man's hands and placing them in the usual location. "Irony is indeed bitter-sweet" The boy muttered, allowing himself the faintest heh.
The reason for his words was not hard to divine. Excell had seen it for himself; Raven carried a Steelix with him, and there was only one fashion by which he could likely obtain one at such a low level. The boy had once carried a Metal Coat; but had made use of it some time ago.
Turning, Raven would motion for Fable to follow him "I suppose I'll see you when I've obtained the items" He stated, not looking at the smith, though it was clear that was whom he was talking to.
Leaving the Gym wordlessly after that, Raven would immediately head from the building to the residential area. The Fire Stone could be found in the cavern, and seeing as that was both the nearest item, and the one with the most direct path involved, he would head there first. The Metal Coat could wait.

((It's not a counter .... you were the one countering. YOu went from a leer to a scratch))
The Burmy would be caught by the attack as she was sent spinning away. The pain hot in her chest, but she kept her feet underneath as she stops spinning. She had failed in her attack, but she wasn't done. Not yet anyway ....as she tries to keep herself ready for the attack.

((Ah, so 12 damage then. You forgot to roll so I'll add another die for you.))
Tsuki gave Prime a high five when the attack hit. Now it was preparing for another strike. "Ok, now it's on the defense... not that it left. Use another Scratch attack!" he told his friend as Mankey sent his fingers flying once more upon the Burmey. The fight was going smoothly but they focused for any surprises. Hate to underestimate a foe... you'd pay the consequences shortly after if you did.

The resident area was a place that was built going up the mountain. House planted two in a row before they were divided by a street down the middle as one would simply climb higher and higher to reach the back of the area and the place were a gaping hole in the earth could be easily seen.
The opening to the old cavern that had been dug out many years prior and was still in use for gathering steels and other precious minerals and stones today.

There would be no small talk this time, nor would he divert from his goal. As Raven walked to the place and simply went in without a word to the citizen that lived around there. Something that many might call unwise as he entered a cavern that was nothing but darkness. Though he did ...happen to have a fire type that might be able to lead the way for him.

Indeed the Charmander would find himself leading their way through the Cavern, the reptiles tail flame producing the only real light to be held in this place. At least as far as Raven's human eyes were able to see.
It was why he had gestured for Fable to proceed him in the cavern. They'd been lucky to have a source of light back upon beginners island, but hadn't counted on them being quite as lucky in this place.
Now however the question remained...where would he find a Fire Stone?

Moving forward at an even pace, the Charmander's tail would bob and sway slightly with each movement. The flickering flame upon his tail tip wouldn't provide much light in the perspective of Fable himself, but then again he didn't require as much as his trainer. Though he wasn't of a nocturnal species; for a reptile, there was always more then one way to see where you were going...
Raven would struggle to keep his pace slow, remaining a few steps behind his Charmander. One hand resting on his sword, the boy's gaze would dart around every thirty seconds ago. In an attempt to remain vigilant in the darkness, he was instead behaving a bit paranoid.

Onward the pair would continue. Despite the potential the light of Fable's flame had for attracting Wild Pokemon, it seemed more likely to be deterring them at this point. Thus far they hadn't met a single creature wishing to stand in their way, or even make contact with them for that matter.

That flame in the darkness hung in the air from a distances like a Litwick searching for it's victim. For the most part, it kept their opponents at bay ...as they ran away from the incoming attacks. But, there was always the brave or fool hearty as a shuffle of something in the darkness would have the Charmander seeing a rock literally rolling at them. A geodude had taken it into his head to play hero since this was obviously not a human that belonged here ....his entire body spinning and rolling as she came for the first attack.
Afterall, this was a rock type that knew the value of the first strike.

While Raven was aimlessly wandering throughout the caverns, Tsuki was aimlessly fighting the Burmey. She had blocked the Scratch, somehow. On impulse Prime put his arms up to defend himself. He was used to the fast and heated intensity or battle while with this one he would need not worry. Tsuki facepalmed at this but he let Prime keep defending. Switching halfway through would indeed surprise Burmey, but it'd be unfair.
And the bugs situation was indeed, unfair.

Noticing the oncoming rock head only barely in time, Raven would lunge forward, pulling Fable off the ground and rolling off to one side. The problem with such a straight forward attack was that it would be difficult to stop once started. With that in mind, they only had to stay out of the Geodude's way, in hopes that left unhindered, the Pokemon would be rolling too quickly to stop before they had made good their escape.
