Damien bit his lip when she seemed more than frightened. She looked ready to bolt. He wanted to say that it was going to be okay, but his attention was drawn back to the stranger. He glanced down, rolling his eyes when the guy pushed Damien's boot off of him and said something about a 'taken' sign. He dodged the punches easily, but felt one hit under his chin. He winced; the pain was slight, but not something he couldn't handle. His fury took over him once again, and he used his right hand to punch the guy in the jaw. He was too stunned to react for a moment, and he grinned with triumph. He soon realized that wasn't enough to do anything. "It doesn't mean you can steal someone else's girl, you b@stard," He snarled. He smiled, remembering the one thing human male's could get hurt by the most. He glanced down between the guy's legs and before he had time to react, Damien kicked him hard in his private, stepped back and once again punched him in the eye. "Dirty human," He muttered, wiping his hands off. He felt pain shoot up his right hand, but he ignored it. He walked back to Della and stood there staring at her for a moment before reaching out his hands and crushing her to his chest, burying his face in her hair and breathing deeply, exhausted somehow from the fight. He didn't let go of her, but held her tighter in his embrace, never wanting to lose her again.

Della watched as Damien and this other guy had it out. In the end, Damien won like Della had hoped he would. The guy layed there in pain as Della found herself crushed to Damien. She was crying again, wondering how Damien could bear to hold her. She cried and cried and held him close. She noticed a faint, heavenly glow and thought Ariell was coming to tell her something. When she saw that the glow was coming from her, she pushed Damien back to look at herself. Her hands had started turning into little glowing particles and whatever was happening was spreading over her entire body. "DAMIEN!?!" She screamed before completely disappearing.

Damien felt salty tears on his shirt and he held her closer, trying to reassure her. "It's okay, it wasn't your fault," He murmured in her ear, keeping a tight hold on her waist. He glanced up when he saw a glow coming from somewhere, expecting an angel. But he soon realized that it was Della, and he barely felt her push him back as his eyes widened, taking in what she looked like. "Dell?" He asked, and had to shield himself from the light she was putting off. He tried to see but the last thing he saw and heard was her screaming her name before the light totally disappeared, along with Della. "Della!" He shouted, getting on his knees and moving his hand around on the sidewalk, trying to find where she had gone. When it was obvious that she wasn't there, he felt tears come to his eyes. He had lost her again. He got up slowly, turning around to see that the guy he had fought earlier was watching in the direction of Della, looking freaked out. "What are you looking at," Damien snapped at him before turning around and running back to Della's house. Maybe it was Ariell to get Della and tell her something. They could have been meeting up at the house..but he knew there was a slim chance. Della or Ariell would have told them both. He hoped that she was okay.

Della awoke groggily. Her eyes were slightly blurred but she could make out her setting. Clouds? Was she dreaming? She tried to rub her eyes to clear them but she couldn't move. She struggled and them heard a booming voice. "How could you? An angel...You're supposed to represent purity and goodness, yet instead of protecting and watching, you danced with the devil." Della's eyes slowly widened and she was able to move again. She rubbed her eyes and looked over to see a gleaming gold throne with a man sitting there. Light was pouring from him and Della had to shield her eyes so she wouldn't go blind. "Father..." "Do not call me that! Not after what you have done."
*****
Ariell was sitting on Della's doorstep. She glanced and saw Damien running. Tears were gleaming in her beautiful light blue eyes and she smiled sadly. "Hello demon." she said, though the greeting hadn't sounded angered or hateful, just sad and exhausted.

Damien could see Ariell sitting on the doorstep, and he was glad when she looked like a regular human. He had had enough glowing light for one night. He heard her address him and he nodded at her, sitting down slowly beside her. "Where did Della go?" He asked, just as exhausted as she was. He saw the tears in her eyes and frowned, turning her face to look at him. "What's wrong?" He raised his eyebrows, afraid to hear the answer more than anything. He let her face go from his hold and put his head in his hands, taking a deep breath. "What happened to Della?" He demanded, biting his lip nervously as he came up and watched the sky.

"But...I...I love him. Isn't that what we're supposed to do? Spread love?" Della was staring at the ground as she said this; she dared not look God in the eyes. "You love someone who, given the direct order, would kill you without hesitating! Demons serve Satan, my immortal enemy. Why do you think I send people gaurdian angels? Without them, humans would srpint towards chaos like an olympic event! Satan would have his way, but it's your job to make sure things like that demon can't harm them. And dragging Ariell into this, I am disappointed in you."
*****
Ariell glanced at Damien who looked distraught. "I was found by Galadriel, my own mentor and gaurdian, a few days ago. When she saw my condition, she immediately brought me before God. He is all knowing and upon looking at me, he knew what I'd done." She looked at the ground. "I loved a demon once. He seemed to be the best thing that'd eve happened to me. But he betrayed my trust...my love. I just wanted Della to not make the same mistake that I did. But seeing you two together...I never hated you Damien, just what you were..." She breathed and looked at her hands. "He...made me human..............Della will never be able to return to earth, and I can't go and get her in my state. Damien...he'll never let you see her again..."

Damien took a deep breath as he listened, smiling sadly when she mentioned that a Demon had betrayed her. "I'm sorry," He muttered truthfully. He listened to the other half of her story with horror. "You're..human now?" He touched her, jabbing a finger into her side. His eyes went wide and he now understood why she didn't glow anymore. He couldn't believe it. He was instantly angry and God, and in that moment grew closer to Satan. "I can never see Della? Can't you rest up and then go get her? Or..something? Talk to God? Please, I have to see her." He pleaded, his eyes filling with his own human tears as he watched Ariell, anguish taking over him. He couldn't imagine never seeing her again. He brightened, an idea instantly taking over him. "What if.." He began slowly, raising his eyebrows. "What if I became an Angel? What if I proved to God, that I'm not who he thinks I am?" He turned to Ariell, seeing if she would agree with him. He would do anything for Della, even if, he thought with a disgusted expression, it meant being a rat with wings.

Della flinched as she heard those last words. She dropepd down to her knees, knowing what his declaration would be. "You can never see him again. You will stay immortal up here." Della jerked her head upward. Staying here meant she'd never see Damien again. She didn't have enough time to respond to that as she felt pain in her back. She looked at her hands and noticed a faint glow coming from them. He was making her an angel again; an angel chained to heaven.
*****
Ariell smiled gloomily. Her eyes grew luminescent for a moment but then the light quickly faded. "He's done it...He changed her back. It's final." She looked at Damien. This boy...demon boy, would become an angel just for love. "I'm sorry Damien, but you chose your side so many years ago. Nothing you do can or will bring her back." She hugged her knees to her chest and let her tears fall. "Oh...you should return to your demon form soon. The problem...was resloved. The spell should be broken." She hated telling this to him. "Don't do anything drastic Damien. Della wouldn't want you to."

Damien's hopes and dreams came crashing down once Ariell said that she had been turned back, and chained up forever. His heat almost broke in two when she said that he would have to stay a Demon. He felt a few stray tears fall onto his cheeks, and he turned away. He felt useless, stupid. They should have never come to the park, never challenged each other. He should have never hurt the stranger. He should have just pulled Della away and ran. Actually, he thought, his tears falling faster now, I should have never fallen in love with her. He closed his eyes and heard Ariell continue to speak. He didn't want to become a Demon again. He wanted to become anything but that now; he only wanted Della. "But the problem wasn't resolved," He shouted angrily to the sky, kicking at the pavement. "If anything, the problem has become worse! I don't want to be a Demon. I want..I want.." He drifted off, and furiously wiped his face. He heard Ariell's last words and he turned to her. "Screw what God thinks. I'm going to do something so drastic, he'll have to let her come back. He'll have to." He sat back down on the porch, again hiding his face. Della had been everything to him, and he lost her. He didn't deserve to live. Before he could do anything stupid to himself or anyone else, he felt something change. He lifted his head up and glanced around, trying to see what it was. But the realization hit him. His eyes flashed from a deep green to a bloody red, and then back; to a brighter green this time. He was a Demon again. "No!" He shouted, bringing his hands up to his eyes and trying to wipe it away. "Change me back! Change it, you b@stard!" He was shouting at Satan, and was wondering if he could hear him. He stomped his foot again, forgetting that Ariell was there. He felt the breeze pick up suddenly and he bit his lip, nervous. The leaves swirled around him and there was fire under his feet. "What the-" He choked out, trying to stomp it out."Ariell!" He quickly knew what it was; immortal fire from the pits of Hell. It couldn't be put out. And in that instant, he disappeared along with the fire just like Della had. Damien appeared on hot ground, and heard a wicked laugh come from somewhere. Satan, he thought grimly.

Della opened her eyes and saw everything as she had once before. She was not with God anymore, but instead in the hallway outside of hthe golden doors that lead to him. She looked at everyone that passed, and the occasionally looked back with disappointment in their eyes. "What do you know about it anyway!" She shouted. She ran back to the room she used to dwell in before being sent to earth. Nothing had changed about it, and she dropped to the floor, bawling. How could he do this? He was God, but what he was doing didn't seem very forgiving. She hugged her knees and wished. Wished they'd never left the house, never went to the park, never initiated that challenge, but not once wishing that she'd never fallen for Damien.
*****
Ariell watched as something happened to Damien. When she saw the flames she knew what was going on. She tried to grab his hand but he disappeared. She looked around and was grateful that no one else had seen that little display. The sky had become jet black and it began to rain. "Della's weeping..." She stood and hurried inside of Della's house. She rummaged through the books on the shelf until she found which one she was looking for. Yes, humans were humans, but she was something more. Or at least she had been. She held to book up and after chanting a lengthy spell, she added at the end "Take me to Della!" She looked around, hopeful, and within a few seconds, she disappeared.

Damien sat up slowly, and glanced up. He was in the same room as before, and Satan was still on his throne of bones; it seemed as if he hadn't moved at all. Which he probably didn't. He glared up at him, not bothering to hide his fury at the spirit of Hell. "Why did you take me away from her?" He shouted, standing straight as he tried to step closer to him. An invisible force knocked him on the ground again, and he groaned. "Do not blame me for your problems that you have caused for yourself. You are not even my son anymore. You have changed." Satan's eyes were filled with fire and beat down on him like the sun. He had to turn away, staring at the wall beyond him. "And maybe for the better." He mumbled, curling his fists beside him. Satan's booming voice vibrated off the walls. "For the better? You let a mere girl, an angel at that, change you into one of those..things!" He said the word with venom in his voice. "I'm not an Angel, and never will be. I've told you this before." Satan laughed, but it didn't have a trace of happiness in it. "I know. I heard you talking to that girl. You wanted to become one, didn't you? You have betrayed me, Damien. And you know what I do to traitors." Damien raised his eyes, knowing they had turned red by now. "No. You will not lock me up like God has done to Della." Satan grinned evilly. "No. You will not be in a room like a child. You will have a job." Damien was confused. "I already have one." Satan got up quickly, knocking the pile of bones off, hatred in his eyes. "Do not interrupt me! You will take over Charon's job and take the dead souls across the river. For eternity. And you will stay away from that thing forever." Damien fell on his knees, all hope gone. By thing, Satan had meant Della. "Now be gone." Satan waved his hand and in a flash, Damien reappeared next to the river. He could see the dead souls crying out for help as Charon guided them across the river, back and forth. He shivered, hoping Della wasn't as miserable as he was. He turned around, hoping he could get out, but a large dog was blocking the way. It had three heads, and looked venomous. He grimaced. No way was he getting past that.

Ariell found Della on the floor crying. She threw her arms around her, and Della's glow shown around Ariell. Della looked up and saw her gaurdian, but she looked a little pale. "Ariell!? What happened to you?" Ariell smiled but it was gone in a flash. "Della...Damien said he'd become an angel for you. I have to know, would you do anything to be with him?" Ariell's eyes looked dangerously determined and Della wondered what was going on. "Yes..I would." "This is not a game Della, I need to know that you mean that." "I do. I'd do anything to be with him." Ariell nodded and took out a dagger that looked like it was made from slate. It had a gleaming silver handle which Ariell had her hand clasped over. She plunged it into Della who screamed in turn. "I'm sorry. I'll be with you shortly." Della's eyes burned and turned a deep red color and she disappeared. Ariell felt her back burn and knew that this was her fate. She disappeared as well and God, with his resounding voice was shouting.
Della looked around and found herself by a river. A river that looked like it was made of blood. She looked over at it and saw her reflection, which looked the same, except for her eyes. They were dark, almost all black. She looked above her and saw no sky, just fire and stalagmites. She heard a groan and looked over her shoulder, only to see Ariell. She smiled but it was immediately wiped away when she noticed Ariell's raven colored wings. "No...Ariell what did you do?!" she screamed, frightened of where she knew they were. Ariell simply smiled faintly and pointed. Della followed her finger and across the lake she could see a figure that looked like...Damien.

A small demon came up to Satan's throne and whispered in his ear. "SHE DID WHAT?" His voice boomed throughout all of Hell, and everything that was living scampered or ran for cover. Satan's eyes were like pools of ink, he was so furious with what he had been told. He got off his throne and disappeared, finding himself near the river. "Where is this Della?" He snarled, glancing around. He saw Damien and his eyes burned with venom. "You asked her to do this, didn't you?" He picked Damien up by his shirt, making him flinch as he dangled helplessly in his grip. "I-I don't know what you are talking about." He said, his voice low but still confident. Suddenly two figures appeared across the river and one screamed. Both Damien and Satan whipped their heads around to see Della and Ariell. Ariell had fallen angel wings, Damien noticed with horror. "Della!" He screamed, his voice filled with happiness. But he suddenly wondered why she was across the river. Understanding crept through him. "Oh, no. What have you done?" He yelled. Satan laughed disgustedly. "It seems that we have a happy reunion. I don't do happy." He threw Damien down, almost cracking his ribs. Damien groaned and was trying to stay conscious, but his vision was blurring. He felt pain both inside and outside of his body. Satan turned to Della, and if looks could kill, she would have died twice now. "You are the one that has made my son feel love." He spat the word like it was a bug he wanted to stomp on.

Della jumped as she heard a booming voice in the air. Ariell had fainted from the change she'd gone though so Della felt alone even as she looked at Damien. She then saw something even her nightmares couldn't compare to. Satan was standing there in the undead flesh. She heard him scream at Damien and then she heard Damien scream her name. She wanted to scream back but she was off-put by the statement Satan had said. She saw Damien get thrown to teh ground and was instantly upset. Her eyes were full on black now and she glared at Satan, knowing exactly who she was dealing with but not really caring. "Yes. I am. You are the one who threatened to kill me." She stood her ground across from him, waiting for the lifethreatening blow she thought she was going to recieve. The bloody stain on her dress had stopped spreading, and she held the dagger behind her back. She didn't know what she'd do with it, but it gave her comfort all the same.

Satan could tell he was intimidating the girl, but she was holding her ground as well. "Why yes I am," He said smoothly, responding to her statement as if it was a question. "I threatened to kill you because you are a no good angel that sticks her nose in everybody's business. Just because you have wings. But I guess those are gone now. It's my turn." He stared at her, seeing that she had nothing now. "You are mine, little Angel. And so is he." Satan laughed once more, grinning in triumph. "There is nothing God can do to save you now. Charon, bring them across the river." The hooded figure stepped out of the shadows and got in the small boat, gesturing to Della to get in and bring her friend with her. Satan turned to Damien and picked him up once more, this time by the back of his shirt. Damien slumped over, trying to see what was going on. "Dell. Come here." He tried to reach out for her, but Satan pulled him back, shaking him angrily. Damien moaned in pain, closing his eyes again, barely able to walk. Clearly Satan had hurt more than just his ribs. "No. You do as I say, not her." Satan held onto him like a hostage, waiting to see if Della would take the bait and come across.
