Malodore returned to try its hand at candy-mining again. At least nobody threw fish at it here, which was a serious plus. The plague doctor padded into the mine and searched for the spot it had been working on before. When it thought it had found the right place, it pulled out its pickaxe and tapped at the wall once more.
Success! One candy.

Malodore pulled back the pickaxe and struck the wall once more. Really, the only reason it was trying to get this 'badge' was because... well, it was interesting. If nothing else, it was definitely developing an appreciation for the geologic arts.

Or would it be the candy-making arts? Surely all candies weren't pulled out of the rock? No, no, some of the horrible pepperminty stuff in Christmas Town seemed to be growing out of the ground.

This candy-vein certainly seemed viable! Malodore was pleased. It had come too far to back out now, but still it would be glad when the work was done and it could get that badge and be finished with this place.
Of course, just as it said that, it struck the wall and nothing but ordinary pebbles fell out. Bah.

One last time for right now. Malodore took a deep breath, shouldered the pickaxe, and swung hard into the wall. Again, nothing but rock greeted its efforts. It would have to find a new place to try... after a break.

The new spot so far was not proving to be very exciting. However as his pick came down, a light ting could be heard. Yes, a small bit of rock candy was still rock candy in the end.

Joy was clear on Israfel's face as yet more candy was discovered. If he kept this up, he could be done soon. the mines were wearing thin on him..and he kind of wanted a bath.

It seemed the area was finished and luck with it. Still, he managed a good haul. Just a little more and he could leave.

His rest had left him ready to search for the candies again so Kazuka got to his feet and stretched. He shifted the pack a bit then walked a few feet to his next chosen spot. The reaper started to chip away at the wall and soon enough found what he was looking for. He collected the pieces into the pack then got a small grin on his face and moved on down.

From his chosen area Kazuka chipped away as he thought of how long he had been in the mine doing this. It was hard for him to tell for sure as he had forgotten to bring along anything that could tell time. At least it didn't seem like his lamp was depleting very fast so he wasn't too bothered. What was starting to bother him was the enclosed space with no wind, something that the reaper with wind affinity was twitchy about. He would have to see about moving back towards the entrance in a little while, he certainly wasn't finding anything in this spot.

After his thoughts of open spaces and wind he had moved on to the next spot on his mental list. He was starting to really feel the burn with the exercise and he figured it was a good thing. After all he had to be getting some good upper body work out that could help him get stronger. His thoughts were derailed though when he found some more candies. He quickly got them out nd put them in the bag before moving on down.

His next spot that he chipped away at he could tell he was slowing down again. Kazuka knew that he would have to stop soon but that didn't stop him form doing his best to find the rock candies for the man. His work paid off yet again for a single candy which he stuffed in the slowly filling pack. One more try then he could rest he figured as he moved on.

Kazuka set to work on the wall as a slow but steady pace. He was pleased with his finds this time around so it wasn't much of a disappointment when he found nothing in the area. He sat down by the wall then sat the pack beside him to rest his arms better. After a bit of rest he should probably find out if he had a clothe or something to clean the pick axe to make sure it still in good shape.
