The captain was...dead? Okay, so Rob was used to death by now. It definitely wasn't an unexpected visitor in the Navy or the on the Highwind. It still wasn't something to be spoken of so casually, though. Well, this only strengthened his opinion that Solaris was trouble. Wait. She wanted him to be Captain? That was unexpected. Unexpected, but definitely not unwanted. He wondered if he was allowed to show his excitement or if he was supposed to look sad over William. He couldn't hide the fact that he liked this idea, though. Him, in charge? Rob couldn't say he wasn't fond of that idea. He noticed that no one spoke up against him. Rob Lex was the new Captain of the Highwind.

"That sounds unhealthy." Julie grunted.
"Busy bodies need food."
"No nay-sayers." Solaris spoke with certainty. Whether the silence was met with mutual agreement, or flat out fear of speaking out against her desire she didn't really care.
"Welcome to the new job, Captain." She said coyly as she turned her attention upon Rob. "Let's try to do a better job than the last fool, hm?"

"Food for us is scarce." Chekondai replied simply. "Hard to find when they're all taken by others."

"Yes, ma'am," Rob replied jauntily, as if a murder hadn't been discussed barely a moment ago. "And, first thing I'm doing as Captain? Getting this ship back on the ocean. I don't like staying in one place. Anyone have a request on where we head?" He paused, then turned to the person who he was sure would. "Solaris?"

"Sounds more like to me you're bad hunters." Julie teased with a smirk.
"We should prepare to leave." Solaris agreed in reply, looking towards the water and the horizon.
"Best we do so quickly too, I might add."

Chekondai gave Julie a glare that most would freeze from. "If that is the case, your Officer was a pitiful excuse of human trash."

Rob nodded as the crew prepared to leave. "So...Any reason that you wanted me to be Captain?"

"And what does James have to do with all this..?" Julie asked, tilting her head.
"I fail to see why he's responsible for your peoples' inability to hunt and fish."
"Simple. You showed a promise William once had." Solaris replied as a breeze picked up, giving life to the sails and flags to all the whips in the harbor.
"A promise he lost, hence why he is no longer with us." She looked to Rob, staring at him with her blank gaze. "But you will get things done. I'm sure of it."

"Humans aren't as fidgety as deer." Julie argued.
"Although I'm sure if James had a better sense of smell, he would have known you were coming long before you did."

"Course I will," Rob replied. He smiled as the wind whipped across his face, rippling through his blond hair. Some things never got old. "As to what those things might be, well, I'll just do stuff."

"Proving my point even more. You're a terrible spear thrower."
"I'll let you know when it's time to know." Solaris looked back to the sea.
"For now, best we leave port. I have a feeling our welcome will run dry soon."
