Well, it was your choice to join me or not. The machine is already running. In fact, it's going to be ready to fire in seconds... Lucifer grinned as he watched Sumer scramble to the control panel. Yes, that's right. I started the big, evil laser BEFORE I gave the "hero" my monologue...

He's deadlocked the controls with a password! Sumer shouted, slamming his fist on the panel. I can't get it open! There was a moment of desperate silence that followed as his head came to rest on the edge of the panel.

Sumer... Try my name.

What?? Sumer pulled the sword out of her sheathe.

Think about it. What have you always had that he didn't? What has he always wanted from you? Me... Just try it.

Just as Sumer was about to punch the name into the console, Lucifer struck, rushing towards him in a stormy tumult of fangs and fire. Sumer was stuck hard, unprepared for the surprise attack, and slammed into the console in a shower of sparks. Gah!! As he managed to throw Lucifer off with his wings, the dragon reciprocated with an onslaught of his own, giving a feral roar as he struck out with the sword. Every time that the blade sliced off a limb, however, it would grow back within a second, even faster than Sumer's limbs grew back. The two snarled and growled, tumbling out of the door and into the hall, leaving a trail of torn off scales and assorted body parts behind on a scorched and blackened floor.

The console erupted into a shower of sparks when the Doctor began to type, showing no effect to the processes beginning to take place inside of the collider.

Watch it, Kat! Sumer shouted as a plasma bolt knocked off one of his small horns. If I get knocked out of this, he'll come for you!!

The control panel fizzled, sparked, and died, every light going dark. Nothing seemed to change.

Did it work?? Sumer called out, holding his enemy in a strangling position as the other dragon tried to bite at his throat.

Of course not, you FOOLS! I broke it!

Y-You're kidding! She's kidding, right? Lucifer laughed, a deep, throaty sound. Sweetheart, I can survive ANYTHING, just like that bozo! Even as Sumer took advenage of Lucifer's distraction to cut off another arm, he simply laughed. This body was built to live forever! To continue the dragon line forever!

Sumer was about to sink his fangs into Lucifer's neck, but he saw Kat's escalating condition, and decided to step back, remembering how fiercely Kat had fought before. Lucy, old boy... You might be in some trouble.

Oh, come on, Sumer! What's this puny little human going to do to me? Yell me to death? Use her humany-wumany mumbo jumbo? He wiggled his fingers in mockery.

Lucifer rolled his eyes and sighed in an exaggerated manner as the facility around them began to hum loudly. Sorry, are you actually planning on trying to blast me to death? Booorring.... And tedious. In case you hadn't noticed, you and every other human on this planet is running out of time...

Sumer's eyes narrowed at Lucifer's distraction, and he whipped his sword over the red dragon's shoulders and ankles. As his enemy fell to his knees and began to bleed profusely, Sumer finally sheathed the sword and walked away.Lucifer didn't even have time to react before his eyes rolled back into his head. I don't care how much you heal, you and I both will go unconscious if we lose enough blood...

Finally recovered, Slytha's blade slipped out of the sheathe and she grew back into her lavender draconic form. Sumer, you know that I can act as an energy conduit. It's in my physical makeup. I can take in the energy, perhaps even redirect it!

Slytha... This is on the subatomic scale! Sumer shook his head. Even if your body survived, what about the shock! We have no idea what it could do to your consciousness- He was cut short as she placed a finger on his lips.

Remember, honey. I promised you that we would be at home together once all of this was over. I intend to keep that promise... With a quick slice from her claws, she cut through the wall. You three get to the tardis, this is going to be more complicated than taking a bullet.

Just as she was about to step through the narrow gap, Sumer grabbed her hand. When she looked back, his eyes were glowing blue and his scales were shimmering. It seemed almost to be the opposite effect of what had happened when he became angry. I'm not going to lose you again. Never again. We'll handle this together.

It'll rip you apar- Slytha started to argue, but quickly realized that it would be impossible. She smiled and gave him a kiss on the cheek. My impossible, fearless knight... Fine. We'll do it together.

Like we always have. Sumer turned back to Kat and the Doctor. Best leave this to the immortals... You two get out of here!
