James kissed him back, "People like that shouldn't exist..." he mumbled, and hugged him tighter. Closing his eyes and resting on his head.

Shadow chuckled and finished the slice, "True... True. But that's not going to happen anytime soon, a sad truth." He said with a yawn, laying on top of him, his head against his chest as he cuddled into it a bit, letting out a murr and whispering, "Mmm, I love you James..." as he closed his eyes and fell asleep on his chest.

James smiled, and he carefully moved so he could check his mailbox, he saw a letter, "Hm?" he opened the letter and stifled a bark, "No... No." he said, he pulled out his cell phone, and dialed a number, "Damn it Matt, Pick up!"
When he did, he said, "James? Where ya been man?"
James sighed, "No time, how soon can you get to the hotel Sky? I gotta favor to ask."
"What is it?"
James sighed again, "I need you to watch after someone close to me, I'm going in a couple of weeks."
Matt was silent, then said, "The Marines? Aw, man, Shayla is going to kill you."
James gave a short laugh, "Yeah, just be down here in half an hour."

Shadow looked at James with a frown as he started to get angry, "Is... Is something wrong, James?" He asked with a concerned frown, looking at the letter that he was reading and taking it when he was finished with it, reading it. He grew a very concerned, and scared look, "Y-You've been called to the Marines? B-But, I-I don't want to lose you..." He said with a whimper, hugging him tightly and looking up at him with his scared gaze.

James looked at him, and he felt much worse, "I signed up six months ago with a delayed entry contract..." he sat on the couch, "I'm such an idiot..." he looked up at Shadow, "I'm so sorry..." he sighed, "I'm not leaving you alone though. I'm calling my friend Matt down to help you out with anything." he said, "He's the nicest guy ever, if anyone messes with you, tell him. He'll deal with it."
After a while, the phone rang and he picked up, "Hello?" he asked, "Oh, send 'em up."

Shadow whimpered and nodded, tears starting to stream down his cheeks as he didn't want him to go, "O-Ok... Just... promise me, that you'll come back... alive..." He said with a frown, tears continuing to stream down his cheeks as he whimpered and cried, his grip around James tightening.

James growled, "I swear to you, I will NOT get killed. I will come back and I will make up for this." he hugged him back tighter than he ever hugged anyone, "I'm so sorry..."
There was a knock at the door, James reluctantly withdrew from the embrace. He opened the door and he called Shadow over, "I want you to meet Matt." he said.

Shadow smiled and nodded, hugging him tightly back and giving him a kiss on the cheek. Shadow followed James as he got up to the door and sniffled a bit, looking at James' friend and sighing, "H-Hello, Matt..." He said with a sad, disheartened tone, his tail limp and showing no movement as he looked at the unknown person that was James' friend.

Matt, a wolf with a rather simple street outfit, smiled kindly, "Hey." he said, "May we come in?"
James frowned, "We?"
Then another voice from behind Matt said, "Yeah, we, you expect for me not to say goodbye?"
James stiffened, he murmured, "Shayla..."
Matt stepped to the side, and a arctic fox wearing a Black T-Shirt and some baggy jeans had her arms crossed, "Off to get yourself killed... typical."

Shadow grew a little smile as he saw the arctic fox, him liking her noticeably more then the other wolf as he murred softly, his tail starting to sway, "Hello, I'm Shadow. You must be Shayla, as my boyfriend said. It's nice to meet you." He said with a cute smile, not really knowing how she was related to James, but just going to be nice.

Shayla grinned, "Oh, so that's what you are." she said, "Well, I guess it's a little reunion." she stepped in, "After all, I was his girlfriend." she flopped on the couch, "I'll be with Matt while he's protecting you." Matt followed her in, "Well, I promise nothing is going to happen... even though you seem not to like me." he stood next to the doorway. James sighed, "Look, I'm going to go get ready, get to know them." he slowly walked out of the room. ______________________________

Shadow nodded and smiled warmly, watching as James walked out of the room and letting out a sigh as he walked out, looking up at the new individuals and smiling softly, going over to the couch and sitting down next to Shayla, looking at the two with a little smile, "Well, my name's Shadow, as you've already heard, and I'm the youngest billionaire in the world, I am the CEO of the leading technology company. Don't worry, I'm not snobby or mean, in fact, I love to donate money to charities and give money to my best friends, as I gave James a quarter of a million for all the things he's done for me... He's so sweet. Well, I hope we can all have a fun time together." He said with a wide smile, his tail swaying left and right as he looked at the two with a friendly, cute smile, giving Shayla the usual completely adorable face.

Shayla's eyes widened, "Holy..." she breathed, "That explains how the hell he got here." she gestured to the Hotel. "He's never had more than a thousand to his name at any point in his life." she laughed a bit, but then said, "But he is one of the most faithful people I've ever met..."
Matt chuckled, "Yeah, well... he'll survive being a Marine. I'll put my life on it."

Shadow giggled and nodded, his tail starting to sway faster, "Well, now that we've got all the introductions out of the way, are any of you two hungry or want to play a game? You guys can feel free to make yourselves at home." He asked with a cute look, pulling out his phone and murring softly, looking at the two as he waited for an answer.
