  Kenji seemed to be entranced by all the blood, it wasn't fine blood by all means, just normal disgusting people blood, she loved certain blood, Mizukage's blood would be fantastic along with her sensei's, such lover birds. The echoing footsteps let her eyes wander up to the man's face, what was his blood like? Was it tainted like all the blood? "Kenji..." She mumbled it softly, going back to looking at all the blood, it was beautiful yet disgusting at the same time, how did this man manage to make such a pretty mess yet those shinobi she saw earlier were so far away from it?

Inka had gathered information from the person behind front desk which apartment his student, Kenji, was assigned. He walked down the hallways and up the staircases required that would lead him to Kenji's apartment, his red eyes scanning the area outside the windows in case she passed by him on her way somewhere else.

Come...to me...
Again the pull on the girl, again the calling that resounded within her. It felt right, justified, as if his blood, this man himself, was the answer to all of life's questions. With this man lay all of creation's answers, the fulfillment of her every need.
I have...the answers...the cure...
The man strode forward, and the sense of corruption continued. Her body began to ache, and the world began to shimmer at the edges. Her breathing would increase, her body begin to sweat. His smile was sickly, as if this satisfied some sick, twisted sexual fantasy. "I wonder how you found me. What are you?"

-----ωatching Jack as he stood to make sure he was really as 'okay' as he said he was, I considered the list of missions I had seen earlier that day--how long was that? It hadn't been that long, but it sure felt like it. Breakfast had taken maybe an hour or more, but I'd gotten up only a little after sunrise. After we ate, we went straight for the mission. So it had only been a couple of hours since I'd even gotten up, and I was exhausted.
-----Of course, maybe that was because I was always tired. We still had a long day ahead of us.
-----The remaining missions, besides training missions, were fairly urgent, two much more so than the third. We had to find a rat in the village, which, from everything that had happened, probably had something to do with the plague bearer. It made sense that the...man? hadn't been working alone if he managed to weasel into the village this far, especially if he could infect people through his eyes and looked like he should keel over. The other was to deliver false information to some leader. If there was a rat in the village then he probably had a leader he was going to report to. So now I understood that all of the missions had to do with each other. Fabulous.
-----Jack was testing me. For what, I had no idea, but he was making me decide the next step. I wasn't a leader, so I don't know why he had to put the decision on me. Besides, Flou there made it nearly impossible to speak. I glanced at the older shinobi warily. He was nice, and I didn't feel threatened by him. He gave no suggestion to treating me like most others did either. But my mind worked the same way it did when around anyone. After all, I hadn't been able to speak to even Jack for several months after meeting him. I was amazed I could speak to him at all.
-----Shifting uncomfortably, I stared down at my feet and sighed heavily. "The rat." I wanted to keep it as short as possible. We needed to find him or her to find the leader to deliver false information to, so that should be the first step. "But we need to talk, Jack..."

Kenji bit her lip, she could hear his thoughts...or was is the red liquid's voice? She couldn't tell which one spoke to her, even if the man spoke himself, one was entrancing, the other alluring to her true side. "I hear voices...they cry for me to come, to feel my presence of bloodlust among their voices...it's never a 'what' but who am I?" She said, knowing if she took any blood back to her apartment, Marco would flip over the kitchen counters and on to the couch. She could just imagine it too and it made her giggle out loud, if her sensei Inka saw her carrying blood around then He would flip over the entire god damn builden. He was just like that, a flipper. "Who are you?" She couldn't see him very well, it was dark because lights had been broken through the hallway to hide all the beautiful blood from undeserving eyes.

Inka paused as he neared a hallway that turned off of the one he was currently walking down. It seemed like the lights weren't on down there, but what had actually caught his attention was the sound of Kenji's voice fluttering down walls to him. "... Kenji?" He called, walking to the mouth of the dark hallway. "Is that you?"

Jack nodded, realizing that Flou was likely overwhelmed and unable to speak. Realizing that the other male, Kenji, was gone and had likely left the vicinity for quite some time he knew it was time to go. Looking to Shadow who had, as he always knew he would do, categorized the missions by importance and had thus chosen the next mission from that fairly short list, Jack nodded and moved away. For the first few moments he walked in silence, considering the boy's ominous words. He knew that Shadow knew little of Jack's life, for Jack had quite simply kept silent on that topic. The 'why' of such was likewise simple.
He did not remember it.
Jack, oddly, had no memory of his past. All he knew was that Death itself had delivered him to the village, which probably gave credence to the belief that his family was no longer alive. It also made hope of a long lost family nearly impossible to fathom. All memory from before was gone, and all he could remember was reflected by the night terrors he bore most nights. They did little to him now, other than stir him to wakefulness at times, but he always forgot upon waking what it was that so frightened him in his sleep.
Sighing, Jack looked over his shoulder with a winning smile, one was that was internally forced. "Friend, yes."

There came a commotion deeper in the complex, clearly audible to Inka where he stood. A crash, followed by something dull thumping against the ground.
To Kenji, she would see the male's eyes burst anew in light, become burning in intensity and strength, before agony like none the had ever felt before lanced through her. Agony, for her blood had began to congeal, and her veins turned black as toxins flooded her blood. Poisoning of the blood, it was called, but far more powerful, for the blood had congealed into little balls with spikes that raked her insides with each pumping of her heart. It would not kill right away, oh no, but the pain!
And she would fall to the ground, her motor functions completely shot.

She didn't even know what happened, how did she get on the ground and why did she feel so much pain?! It felt like she had glass in her veins, every little bit of her body hurt so much that she didn't know if she could even scream. When she tried, it felt like she was choking before her scream broke out from the pain, tears and agony in her, calling out for help in her girlish, shrilly full of pain voice. The giant puddle of blood that wasn't hers, was some what comforting but it didn't ease the pain or all the tears she had coming out, although if no one heard her plee for help then she didn't know if another yell could be made like that.

-----ι stared after Jack for a moment after he left. I didn't know him well, no, but I knew him enough to tell that he was in more pain than he was letting on. He knew I was afraid of him, and that hurt him. I hadn't meant to hurt him.
-----How could he always smile so easily? I didn't understand. I rarely ever smiled now, but he always had that constant, mysterious smile of his that I could never decide if he was being snarky or if he was sincerely happy. It bothered me that even a step away from Death's door, he still smiled.
-----I sighed, taking another look at the silent Flou. He hadn't said a word since the Kage left, and I half wondered what he was thinking, if he was thinking anything. Was he as concerned about the condition the village was spiraling into as I was?
-----Either way, I was falling behind. Waving a 'goodbye' in the older shinobi's direction, I headed after Jack, jogging to catch up with him.

"Kenji!?" Inka shouted. He lunged forward, running down the darkened hallway, his red eyes just barely adjusting the moment he entered the shadows, using what little light that the windows and florescent bulbs behind him could offer. And then he heard a choked scream, muffled and suppressed. Inka continued forward, seeing a dark silhouette of someone lying on the floor. He flinched as his running feet sounded like they were hitting a film of liquid that coated the floor. As his eyes adjusted more to the dim light, he felt panic and urgency take his veins. He skidded down, sliding on the blood, and quickly ran his hands over the person's face, checking their neck and trying to see who it was. Kenji... He ran his hands down her back, checking to see if she had any spinal injuries. With all this blood seeping into her clothes, it was hard to tell anything. But all seemed solid but she was obviously in so much pain... He hooked his arms around her, lifting her frame to lean against him as he carried her like a bloody bride down the hall. He was running again, the stench of blood filling his nose and its feel clinging to his skin and through his clothes. Even with wearing red, it was obvious. "I've got you, Kenji. I'll get you better, I promise." He mumbled, his breathing laboured as he fought to keep her in his arms. He feared that if any adrenalin ran out in his veins, he may lose the strength required to carry her. Already he had forgotten about the damage in his left shoulder, and he couldn't feel how the cut muscles there screamed and ripped further.

What he found, however, made his skin crawl. The whole place stunk of blood and death, sending a chill up his spine and pulling at his darker feelings...hunting. Shaking it off, Sypher knelt near the body, examining the dessicated corpse, keeping his knees off the blood soaked floor. He wasn't wearing his Kage robes, just a knee length vest but it was tucked into his lap as he examined the body ... Silently, Sypher stood and looked around the room, taking notes mentally...and carefully tried not to want to go right after whoever had done this. But the Hunter really wanted to track...wanted to hunt whoever had done this down. | | To be myself; that's all I want

He froze then looked down at the corpse...noting the fingers that were frayed and ruined even with the state of the body.

Grinding his teeth, Sypher pulled a pad out and jotted the words down, tapping the pen to his chin after he finished. This was curious...and unsettling. Looking around, he dipped into the Hunter and began searching, his senses spreading out around him. He could feel different chakra floating but...not all of it was traceable Damn it... he couldn't find anything concrete. After a moment, he turned and left the apartment, a message sent to the Anbu to come see to the area. Standing outside the apartment complex, Sypher debated where to go....and settled on the Hospital. He needed to see Inka. Then who knew where he'd go.
