Toya was finally alone after being watched for so long. They had actually been foolish enough to let him escape. Would he really go through with the futile mission the ice turtle had given him? Or would he use the opportunity to carve his own destiny into the flesh of life? "Do I have the power necessary to survive on my own...And what would I do if they came after me?" He asked himself under a layer of cloth protecting his skin from the burning sun. The scroll mentioned a cave in the Red Sands which led to a jungle biome. The amount of different specimens he could take back was unfathomable. The boy was developing a new ninjutsu of his bloodline instead of genjutsu this time around. Toya was effectively creating a poison tag variant of kamikazi unit. There would be genjutsu used on top of the technique in order to ensure success, but that would come later. Right now he needed an actual dose of lethal poison to assimilate into his paper.
He found the cave in question amidst the bloodied sand of the desert. His birth country was interesting indeed. It's history was unlike that of other lands. Nothing survived the burial of sand. There were no remnants to be found. It was poetic and depressing just the way Toya liked it. Before stepping in the dark cave, Toya sent a couple of paper birds to scout the inside. They didn't return. "Hm." His birds gave him no information in the dark. What ever had made them stay would expect more. Grinning he created explosive Kamikazi units in a large amount and sent them flying inside the cave. The explosion lit up the inside revealing the creatures that lurked within and awaited him.

The light of the explosions illuminated the hulking mass of meat, fur, claws, and teeth that was an improbably large bear. Its long, black fur made it look like a strange deformity in the light cast by the explosions, a dark spot in a flash of light. The blasts took it by surprise, spooking it to the point that it would have jumped at its own shadow, which looked distorted and vaguely humanoid in the flash of light. When the light and sound started to fade, the beast picked Toya out at the mouth of the cave and charged, teeth bared. If nothing else, the sheer mass of the creature would cause some damage to the kid.

As the bear charged at Toya the boy would quickly perform a series of hand seals that would gather raiton in his hands. When ready he would separate his hands and cause the raiton to spread like a sphere around his body. He would have to remain in the same position otherwise the barrier would break. It was Toya's plan for the bear to charge into the jutsu since it wouldn't put two and two together like a shinobi or even average human being with a brain cell.

The bear crashed into the barrier with a loud thud and drunkenly stumbled a few steps backward. It shook its head while groaning, then took a blind swipe at Toya that was surprisingly on-target. Oddly, the lad's barrier would waver following the impact, and by the time the bear had swiped at him, the barrier would have weakened by a full rank.

Toya's eyes widened at the bear's apparent resistance to his jutsu. The technique should've caused some sort of numbness in the beat or even cause it to faint. But Toya was not one to fall for his primal instincts and panic. As the bear stumbled back and regained his composure to dash back at Toya, the boy would bring his arms down and attempt to perform hand signs quick enough to body flicker 10 feet from the bear. If successful Toya would then perform another jutsu known as the Tornado Trap. The boy would create a tornado 10 feet above the bear completely surrounding it. Any attempts to leave it would only harm the bear although Toya wondered if that would hold the beast.

The opponent will find themselves trapped inside the eye of this tornado, unharmed by the winds but unable to move without touching the tornado. If they attempt to escape they will find the swirling winds will push them back inside the center, with several cuts and scratches due to the ferocity of the winds. However just as what’s inside cannot leave what is outside cannot enter; any attacks or projectiles will simply be deflected back out. Guild Description: The tornado lasts for two posts and has a three post cool down time.

The bear suddenly became very visibly disoriented as the Tornado Trap descended on it. Its alarm only worsened as it tried to find an exit and failed. Every panicked movement it made caused it to bump into the barrier and suffer its cuts, creating a feedback loop that drove it to even higher states of agitation. After several seconds of increasing thrashing, it barreled through the winds, suffering cuts all along its body. It charged in the general direction of Toya, but that was as far as its aim went; it would barrel past him if he did nothing, perhaps getting some of its blood on him or knocking him over.

Toya scowled as the bear repeatedly slammed it's body against the wind repeatedly over and over again. "I will have it's pelt." Toya spat in irritation at the stubborn creature. He wanted to blow it up with more explosive tag projectiles, but that would send the bear scattering and this wasn't even the point of the mission wasting too much chakra on a pointless bear was foolish. That feeling went away completely in the blink of an eye, however and he decided to just blow the bear up. In the palm of his hands several paper butterflies would seperate from his skin and immediately fly towards the bear. Detonating on contact.

The bear slumped over after enduring the explosions. For a moment its shadow elongated toward Toya and intersected his, but as the explosions died down and the bear breathed its last breaths, the view returned to normal. Upon a closer look, the beast would appear to have been extremely hungry. It wasn't quite emaciated, but now that it and its fur had stopped moving, it was clear just how thin the creature was.

Toya watched his explosions in awe like some sort of opera with the bear singing amidst a background of destruction. Art came in various shapes and forms for Toya. He despised those who secluded themselves to one form of art and perceived it as perfection. As ironic as this may sound, Toya saw art everywhere on Earth. From the red sand he stood upon to the bear's struggle that he had so ungraciously ended. The bear that had seemed so menacing earlier now showed signs of famine. Toya approached it and thought about skinning it for a pelt. Bear pelts were expensive that was true, but there was something pathetic about killing a bear that was already weak and then taking it's fur. "May we meet again in the next life." Toya mumbled ironically before entering the cave.
The darkness was home to much more than just bears. To protect himself, Toya activated a raiton technique that would cause his body to light up and guide him through the cave's darkness.

The bear lied motionlessly in its deathly form. A less sane man might interpret this gesture as one of either approval or disapproval, but it was just as purely neutral as a carcass could be, almost as though it were an idealization of that very concept.
The cave's paths were alternately thick with stalagmites and stalactites and completely barren. It occasionally curved outward into a large room before becoming a narrow sliver of passable land once more. The air was cool and, in places, humid, though there was very little standing water. What few animals there were either fled at the sight of Toya or watched from a distance, their eyes glowing in the light. After about half an hour's trek, there would be a fork in the road, one route leading to the left and up and the other down and along a more straight pathway.

Toya's journey through the darkness was beginning to become insidious. Being alone for such a long time in the darkness would alter any sane man's mindset, but Toya was not the most stable of individuals. For one the voices that plagued him as a child and that he had managed to suppress were creeping their way back into his reality one hush at a time. At first he would not realize this and consider the creatures lurking in the caves to be the cause of strange sounds, but he was alone. The creatures avoided him and made sure to keep out of his path. So what was that noise? He'd have no time to think about this as a new problem presented itself quite literately a fork in the road. Toya could for good measure send more detonation birds to scout a path, but being physically inside of the cave this time around he did not think detonating anything inside of it would end up positively for himself. "Dying under rubble sounds very pathetic." He said to himself before taking the path that went long a straight pathway.

The path continued for a very long time. For a minute or two it was pitch black and quiet except for the sounds of Toya's footsteps, but gradually a dim glow suffused the pathway. It gathered in clusters on the walls and floor, emanating from the bioluminescent fungi that had proliferated through that section of the cave. The path terminated in a pool of water lit by tiny balls of glowing algae; in the water was a cobweb of roots that seemed to be spreading out from something in an adjoining pool of water that was not visible from Toya's chosen path. There was, however, enough space for him to wriggle through the roots if he could hold his breath long enough.

Atsuma wandered through the abyss of his own delusions and perversity for what seemed to be forever. The cave was perfection to him not a single sound to be heard other than the ocassional water drop and of course. The thing that followed Toya. Yet it still hadn't managed to catch the boy's attention. It was a manifestation he had long since considered to be dead and gone from his life there was no reason to fear. Though he was beginning to wonder why his steps were making odd, distinct echoes. In his solo voyage into the jungles of the land of wind the boy would come across an oddity of the fungae family. It first started as a small glow in the distance that Toya originally assumed to be an exit of sorts, but it turned out to be much more. Bioluminescent fungus which most definately contained volatile properties. Squatting down he observed in silence the beauty in such secluded creatures and how they had evolved to survive in such a harsh environment. Toya thought the same about himself in a way. "Beauty in the darkness. Would you like to come with me and discover a new world?" He mockingly asked the fungus before eloquently stretching out his left arm and pulling up his sleeve. His skin would slit itself into square sections and slowly pull itself up. The boy would then patiently create a jar out of paper to keep what he found during his mission safe from contamination. Toya proceeded to pick 10 caps while using his sleeve to keep his skin from coming into contact with them. He only assumed their poisonous properties and knew nothing of their method of introduction.
With that task complete the boy got himself up and continued on through the darkness until finally coming across a small pond. The pond contained glowing algea which created a beautiful pattern of light across the cave walls. It mesmerized Toya who only after snapping out of the trance it put him in would realize he had met a dead end. Observing the water he noticed an odd cluster of roots within it directly below the cave wall. "hmm." While someone watching Toya would find themselves observing a calm and collected individual his sweating palms and racing heart would contradict his outter appearance. He knew it was behind them. Going back no longer an option. Opening his eyes, Toya was greeted by one of the most beautiful scenes in his life. The algae and their light together with the bubbles created by Toya's jump created a dance of light within the water. Toya almost forgot about why he had jumped inside. With reality creeping back Toya continued on towards the roots and fought his way through. Finally making it to the other side with barely any air left in his lungs Toya quickly made his way back to the surface and let the oxygen spread through his system.

Dozens of shafts of light pierced through the darkness and were refracted into a pattern of rippling lights on the walls of the cave. The ceiling of this new section was filled with holes that leaked sunlight, but the ceiling itself was covered in tiny crystals that were acting to distribute that sunlight throughout the room. Directly overhead, though, was a wall of dark green branching out from veins of dark brown, marking the trunk and canopy of the tree whose roots he had just traversed. All around Toya were plants subsisting off of the sunlight that made its way into this secluded grotto--from trees to ferns to small flowers and grasses--and creatures subsisting off of those plants. A few seemed to have taken notice of Toya, but none were making any sudden movements. The coolness and dampness of the air would make this a fairly good place to look for amphibians, but his plans were for him to know.

Atsuma could see life beginning to develop at the cave's end. Yet he did not move forward towards his goal. He remained motionless. "What to do what to do?" He asked himself. His body completely soaked in the cave's water. He thought about the tournament and the lack luster results and the ensuing chaos of the monster attacking. The power level of his peers also worried him. He hadn't taken a single scratch the entire tournament. He wouldn't be able to keep up the charade for long before losing himself to his dark desires. "No, no, no this won't do." Looking at his reflection in the water, Atsuma thought long and hard about his next action. There would be no turning back from this. "Haha the games are only just beginning." He announced before plunging back inside. The boy would swim his way back to the other side of the cave he had come from and trace his way back towards the entrance.
Once outside the boy would take in a breath of fresh air and begin his journey away from the land of wind.
