The sands seemed to glide by underfoot as Bast and Mononoke flitted away from the Village. The wind was intense, even for the Wind Country; it was as though it were actively trying to contain her within its borders. She pressed on, though, toward her next stop.

Theo kept walking through the desert, thinking about what he would get for his new armor as he felt the wind blow through his longer hair, he was finally getting used to it.
Walking back across the desert, Theo had to pull his hair back and tie it to keep it from being blown into his face by the high winds. Once that was done, he picked his stuff back up and continued towards home. (exit)

As Theodin walked down the road through wind country with Sonyo, he couldn't help but think back to his visit to konoha earlier and how much more pleasant the weather was with the snow. Looking over at the younger girl, he had a funny idea and started molding chakra through his staff as they walked, he'd then start whistling a happy tune to himself as he finished the jutsu he had in mind. Suddenly, Sonyo would notice the wind speed pick up slightly, redirecting to blow in their faces, as snow started to fall rather quickly, covering the area in a few inches in a matter of minutes. Laughing, Theo would look at Sonyo, "Hey Sonyo! Catch!" as a small area of snow swirled as it fell to pile into a snowball in his hand, he'd throw it to hit Sonyo in the side, chuckling like a kid.

The walk was nice, though the vastness of the desert kind of knocked her brain for a loop. The last time she had crossed the oceans of sand, her brain was too rattled to take in the scenery; but now that she was focused she realized just how BIG the wind country was. Her body suddenly tensed as snow began to fall, her train of thought breaking for a moment as tiny ice crystals fell against her skin. The possibility that this could be an attack or even a genjutsu was real, and her mind began to spin through scenerios. However, one look at Theo made her calm down, the jounin didn't seem on edge at all. If anything was wrong, he would be reacting. The young female let out a soft breath, her nerves were on fire. She had thought, only for a moment, that the UHV had found her again.
She had no chance against Theo's speed, and the snowball hitting her side caused the female to let out a happy squeal. "Theo-san, you butt!" She reached down, scooping some snow up as she moved back from Theodin so that she could mold a snowball herself. "Face the consequences of your actions, senpai!" She jokingly squealed before chucking the snowball at the male's chest, hopping back a few steps after doing so in case he tried to throw yet another snowball. Joy flooded through her veins, this reminded her of home, of the winters when everything was simple and her mother used to be loving and kind. Back to the days where she had a family, back to the days where playing had been allowed in the house.

Theo laughed as he saw Sonyo tense up then finally relax as the snow fell, then couldn’t help but smile as he saw her laughing and squealing like a little girl throwing a snowball at him. As he was busy laughing, he just managed to avoid a direct hit to the chest, instead being hit in the shoulder by the snowball. Hopping back, the jounin would chuckle a bit, “Not bad, not bad..” He’d then direct the snowfall nearest his hands to pile in his palms to form two more snowballs before throwing them both in quick succession at Sonyo. As they were playing, Theo decided to whip up the snow a bit, a second later, the snow started coming down harder, blowing on the winds of the land, until the two hyouton users were practically up to their knees in snow.

Sonyo reached her hand up and blocked one of the snowballs, but the rest hit her. She giggled, kicking the snow a bit as she started walking again. "I miss the snow so much... Were you raised here Theo-san, in Suna?" Sonyo reached down, again and grabbed a handful of snow, just holding it in her hands. It was a pure white, probably because of the lack of anything that could taint it here; there wasn't even mud. "Because I was born in Yukigakure, I still remember it a little, though so most memories are hazy." Sonyo could feel Mononoke brooding behind them, trudging through the snow and shivering.

Turning to continue walking down the path beside Sono, Theo scooped up a handful of snow himself as he charged a small amount of raiton chakra into his legs to help him cut through the rapidly piling up snowfall. When Sonyo asked if he was born in Suna, Theo sighed softly, “Sort of, my dad created me in his medical lab here in Suna, using a mixture of his and my mom’s DNA, then somehow made me grow quickly into a teenager… So yea, I guess you could say I was born in Suna.” When she mentioned that she was born in a place called Yukigakure, Theo scratched his head a little, “Hmm, I think I’ve heard of that village….and I guess I know what you mean about hazy memories, I don’t really have any from before I became a genin…”

Sonyo listened carefully to Theodin as he talked about his life. She didn't know that it was even possible to create a living being artificially outside of the womb, but then again her medical knowledge was second-rate at best. She couldn't imagine what it would be like to suddenly open your eyes one day and be a teenager, with nothing before that. "That sounds horrible... I can't even begin to imagine what that would be like... I have my memories, and everything that happened in my past, to thank for what kind of person I am today... " Theo mentioned that he could have heard of Yukigakure, and Sonyo's heart dropped a little. Was the destruction of Yukigakure that faded? Had others began to forget the horrible things that happened to her home?
"I wouldn't be surprised if you don't remember it... Yukigakure was destroyed a long time ago... My families were refuges that moved to Otogakure, and my life drastically changed when that happened..." Sonyo reached up, pushing some of her ebony locks behind her ear, staring at the snowy ground with sad eyes. "Yukigakure was a beautiful village... It snowed almost all year round and it was a refuge for Hyouton users alike. You would have loved it Theo, it was such a peaceful place, or at least that's how I remember it."

Theodin couldn’t help but just shrug his shoulders, “It is what it is, I’m a shinobi of Sunagakure, designed to be one of its greatest weapons; and in that, some say my dad was majorly successful…” Theo would chuckle a bit before continuing “My memories made me the man I am too, like watching a fellow genin die on my first mission while I tried to resuscitate her, before she was brought back to life by my dad….training with my old teacher, Sanshi, who gave me a nickname along with this staff, which he made for me…. He called me the Storm God.” Seeing Sonyo seem down, Theo shifted his staff to his other hand and placed his hand on her shoulder, “Sorry if I got you down, Sonyo-chan…I’m sure Yukigakure was a great place.. and I probably shouldn’t say this, but I’ve been to Oto, I’m sorry you had to deal with that crap.”

With each word that Theo spoke, Sonyo felt worse for feeling down about the things that had happened in her life. She hadn't dealt with nearly as much strife as Theodin had, and maybe never would. She lost herself to her train of thought and was only brought back by Theo placing his hand on her shoulder. "Yeah... I imagine Otogakure used to be great before the UHV took it over..."
The desert slowly faded out to form yet another path, she guessed the had reached the crossroads. Mononoke was staring up at the clouds, paying no attention to what they were talking about. Such a strange one, she was. "Oh, it's looks like we're nearly there! C'mon Theo-san!"

Theo couldn't help but feel kind of bad for upsetting Sonyo, but smiled when she cheered up as they approached the crossroads where they'd turn towards Takumi. Theo nodded his head quickly, " Yup, we're getting close."

Alone and running quickly, Mononoke dashed across the land. 1000 Ryou--or somewhere thereabouts--jingled in her grip like wind chimes in a tornado. Evaluating that this sound might annoy any listeners, she folded the coins in the schematic for Bast's weapon and tucked it into her clothing. The border was coming up.

The sand shifted under the golem's feet, slowing her progress. The winds this day were stronger than usual, it seemed, but it always seemed that way. Mononoke quickly and somewhat mindlessly plodded onward toward the mine where Bast awaited.
